Jennifer Lawrence fanzine draft 2

Photo Leak Scandal

So when the nude photos of J-Law were released on the 7th October of this year there
was uproar of us fans defending our favourite actress and backlash to the companies
and blogger, Perez Hilton who leaked the photos. The famous blogger known for his
controversial posts on all things celebrity and scandal posted the photos on his
website, then quickly took them down after the horrified and anger fuelled reaction
from Lawrence fans took over his blog and twitter feed. I think its safe to say that
the majority of fans now have a slight dislike for the fame obsessed blogger, who
repeatedly takes to twitter and his personal blog to rant about anything he can find,
never contemplating how damaging and offensive his words can be to the celebrities
he is slating. Even though all fans of Lawrence know this is to be expected by
someone like Hilton, as this is definitely not the first time he has been involved in
slating a celebrity just for the fun of it. I know that everyone needs a career, however
Perez excuse of a job is to ridicule the real celebrities out there in order to make
himself feel better. Even the fact that this can be called a job is insulting to those that
work hard to make a living for themselves, his blog is packed full of insulting and
offensive images and content that can do more than damage a persons ego, it has the
potential to ruin peoples careers.
The pictures were leaked on to sites such as 4chan, Reddit, Twitter and Tumblr
exposing the intimate images to many people using these sorts of social medias.
Clearly Hilton still hasnt learnt his lesson from previous experiences of releasing
information to the public that wasnt his to share. So if you werent aware Perez was
also involved in a case with Miley Cyrus back in 2010 when Hilton posted an image
of the actress turned singer when she was just 17, getting out of a car seemingly sans
underwear and quickly took down the image stating, she was clearly wearing
underwear and that he was only making light of the un-ladylike manner in which
she got out of the car. The fact that he can release images of a 17 year old girl and
then accuse her of something that was in fact un true shows the kind of person he
really is and makes it even more ridiculous that he can actually be categorized as a
celebrity himself. However I do think it would be a very different story if it was the
other way round and he was the one being shamed online with accusations being
thrown at him. More recently, in February of this year Perez found himself being
faced with a near lawsuit and rightly so! He was at it again with his careless taunts at
celebs and claimed that singer Ariana Grande had allegedly been spotted using
cocaine. This was definitely not something to laugh about when the reputation and
career of the star was in jeopardy so after several tweets made by Hilton to
Nickelodeon (the channel she used to be on) and even going as far as to tweet her
brother about the allegations of her drug use Grandes lawyer quickly shut it down
by making it clear of a possible law suit being filed against him.
Perez Hilton is famous for craving drama and scandal like this to create a buzz and
interest from the public, however the effects of this sort of damage are never
considered. Images of this context could have and may have hurt Lawrence
reputation as well as her career, easily determining if she would continue her success
in acting, claiming, its the only thing Im good at. Although as fans we dont
blame the actress for the photos, many do, claiming she shouldnt have taken the
images in the first place. However J-law fires back releasing a statement in Vanity
Fair magazine, I started to write an apology, but I dont have anything to say Im

sorry for. I was in a loving, healthy relationship for four years. It was long distance,
and either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or hes going to look at you. All
the haters have now been silenced by Jens real and honest statement, explaining what
actually happened and why. Celebrities are constantly bombarded by paparazzi and
apparently bloggers, sometimes going as far as to physically harm or hurl abuse at the
stars, take Perez as an example of exactly what not to do with his endless tweets
aimed at many celebrities. I can actually understand that a paparazzos job is to take
pictures of the celebrities and thats just what they have to do, but Perez repeatedly
goes a step too far and the fact that it takes a crime like this to make people realise
this is horrific. Perez has clearly joined the side of the media and paparazzi with his
constant stream of new pictures posted on his blog of the celebs making him just as
bad and increasing the fear of the actors and singers, Jen even went as far as to
describe the papz as being terrifying to her. Is it jealousy? Or is it simply Hiltons
idea of humour? The message that many of the celebrities have been trying to get
across is that they only want to move on as time passes and that it isnt something to
be entertained or amused by, but it is something to be disgusted and frowned upon by
both fans like us and everyone else.
