Objective: This assignment was to teach how to make a brochure.
To promote creativity and design. This was meant to conclude all
our learning of deisgn elements and principles. The objective of
this
project was to teach us basic elements of a brochure, measurments, printing, aligning as well as all other design elements.
Process: I first made a mock prototype and sketching of what I
had envisioned for this brochure. I then measured the sides. I then
went to InDesign and measured on the page the same
measurements on my sketch. After that I made an apple on InDesign for my logo and then placed it on the page that will be the

Imaging
Description: This is not an advertisement or a motivational poster.
This is a simple poster with a fall theme.
Programs: PhotoShop/Indesign
Date Completed: 10/17/14
Course/Instructor: COMM 130/ Professor Kerr
Objective: To teach basic photography skills, the elements of
PhotoShop and the importance of implementing a color scheme in
our designs.
Process:First I took several pictures and chose the best one out of
all of them. I loved the colors in the trees of this photo. In
Photoshop I did a little editing. I used the lasso tool to make poles
dissapear that were in the way and road signs. I then increased the
vibrance of the picture and pulled down the contrast. After I was
satisfied with the photo I then used the page tool to make the
circles. It took a while to get a good color scheme. Once I decided
on a color scheme I used the eye dropper tool to drop direct colors
from the pictures onto my swatches.

Letter Head
Description: This project is a stationary and business card for the
hypothetical company that I made last week for my logo project.
The stationary has a water mark on it from the logo and so does
the business card in order to create consistency throughout all the
designs. The business card is simple, yet gives all the information
needed. I think it looks clean and sharp.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Indesign
Date Completed: 11/7/14
Course/Instructor: COMM 130/Professor Kerr
Objective: To teach basic stationary design. Teach all the parts
a stationary must have. Teach basic design elements and to give
more opportuntiy to learn Adobe Suites.
Process: The project asked us to create a completely new logo to
go on a stationary and business card for our made up companies.
It was difficult to think of another idea that was decent for a new
logo. I first formulated a few ideas and decided on an apple to be
the theme. I created the apple in illustrator and then transferred
it over to an in design document. From the in design document I
then I placed the lines, watermarks and information on the
document. I made the water mark by using the opacity tool. I used
the white arrow tool to distort the apple as well as several other
tools in design offers. I organized the layout and added the
rounded lines in order to unify the parts.

as well as company logo. Wthin the business card there should be
constitancy in design.

Logos
Description: These are three logos that I created for a
hypothetical company named Good Eats Restaurant. I was
envisioning the restaurant to be fresh and modern with a Farmers
market feel to it! I did three logos, the first one is the utensils and
on it there is the name of the restaurant. The second is very simple
and the third has a bit more going on in it. Most people seemed to
like the third logo the best because of its colors in the vegetables
and layout of the text.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator
Date Completed: 10/31/14
Course/Instructor: COMM130/ Professor Kerr
Objective: This project was meant to teach what is effective in a
logo. Logos are used for branding and it is important to have a
nice logo with white space, contrast, and interest.
Process: For this project I used Adobe Illustrator. I used the
rectangle tool as you can probably tell in my designs. I
manipulated the rectangle with the rounded corner tool in order
to create a rounded shape. I designed each vegetable with this
technique and added what was needed. This is also how I made
to utensils as well. I then experimented with the type and fonts on
what works and what does not. I chose to contrast fonts to give it
more eye appeal.

Objective: To introduce Photoshop. This project let us learn how
to manuever around Photo Shop and learn how to use a mask. This
project also taught the layering effect and opacity tool.
Process: This was created in Photoshop. I first opened up each
image onto Photoshop and resized them to fit the page. I then used
the masking tool to create a mask and lowered the opacity to about
30 percent. I then when over the whole image and changed the
opacity several times depending on what part of the image I was
brushing over. I then created another mask and used a tool to make
a spray paint effect over the text. I chose the text effect by the
process of trial and error.

Process: I used indesign for this project. I Used the text box tool
to insert all type. I also downloaded pictures from our class folder
on I-learn for this project. I manipulated the lettering making it a
bit longer than the original font. I also included some accent lines
under the title and at the bottom of the page. I used the line tool
and the thickness feature to manipulate the lines to create the 3
line look. This I separates the text from the actual title and capture
question. I bolded and Italicized key words or phrases.
