Christmas/Winter

Circle Time Review

In circle time this week the children will
review both the shape and vegetable
vocabulary. There have been a few
shorter weeks due to various holidays so
we will concentrate on any of the less
familiar vocabulary. Games such as pass
the hat, fly swat, go fish and find the
object will be played.
We will continue to practice number
recognition and counting.
The usual songs and morning routine will
be practiced.

Games and Activities
The children will be creating a giant Christmas tree display to have on the board outside
the classroom for the Christmas season. They will together make a handprint tree
complete with pot, star and decorations.
Real Christmas objects and pictures will be brought in for the children to look at, touch
and discuss- tinsel, jingle bells, a Christmas present, a Christmas card etc.
Fun games will be played using Christmas music such as musical chairs, pass the parcel
and musical statues. The children will be encouraged to listen to the vocabulary in the
songs and talk about playing games with family at Christmas.

Review. g, o, u, l, f, b and blend these sounds into 2 letter sight words: ag, go, up, ub, if,
of, la and on

Tuesday- Snail Words-Speak slowly

like a snail to understand blended
words. Put letters on snail. Sing If You
Think You Know This Word with given
words.
Wednesday - writing practice Colour
me alphabet sheet letter o.
Thursday- Blending Box- Kids pick
two letters and blend them. Fly Swat
Reading-kids have to hit said blended
words on the board.
