Congratulations to Sean Rotar, Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture, who has been appointed Chair of the Committee on Education of the American Society of Landscape Architects by ASLA national president Richard Zweifel. The ASLA Committee on Education advises the society on education policy, growth and maintenance of landscape architecture programs, and monitors education and employment trends. Seans two-year term began in November and will end in November 2016. Congratulations to Dave Barbarash for being nominated by the department and awarded the College of Agriculture Richard L. Congratulations to Rob Sovinski for being nominated for the College of Agriculture David C. Pfendler Outstanding Counselor Award. Visiting Scholars w/ Dr. Handa Prof. Reda E.A. Moghaieb, Professor in the Department Genetics, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University Egypt, has joined Dr. Handas Laboratory as a USAID visiting scholar for a period of 6 months, until the end of April 2015. His research interests are biochemical, molecular and physiological adaptation of plants to extreme environments, application of biotechnological principles to improve crop productivity, molecular phylogeny and biodiversity, and protein structure and function. Prof. Abdelhadi Abdallah Abdelhadi Mohammed, Associate Professor in the Department Genetics, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University Egypt, has joined Dr. Handas Laboratory as a USAID visiting scholar for period of 6 months, until the end of April 2015.
