Gap Year (2003/04)
Accounts office assistant for 6 months, doing general admin and accounts work using Sage accounts
package. Combined with part-time bar work, helped to fund 5 months travel in Australia. During my stay
I worked for temping agencys in various offices around Sydney and Melbourne.

I have experience of using the internet for research and have some basic web writing
skills as I used to run a website with a friend whilst still at school. I am also familiar with
word processing, spreadsheets, and statistical packages.
I have a current, clean driving licence.
I have a reasonable knowledge of written and spoken German and basic French skills.
I am a good team player, capable of working with others to achieve a goal but also able
to work independently. I have good written and oral communication skills.
Hobbies and interests
I play hockey and tennis for the University of York and I was a regular player in the
hockey and netball teams whilst at school. I also helped the PE teacher with coaching
younger players. I play the guitar and used to be in a band with some of my friends
whilst at school. Our greatest achievement was winning a regional Battle of the Bands
contest and we regularly played around the Glasgow area. I also enjoy visiting the
cinema, listening to music and reading.

Member of the University Chinese Society and have been involved in promoting the
activities of the society to increase membership, and helping to plan cultural events,
such as celebrations for the Chinese New Year, open to all students.
I enjoy art and design and I am a member of the Universitys Active Arts society,
which has enabled me to continue painting and drawing and gain experience of
pottery and printmaking. I also enjoy visiting art galleries and museums
