“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”– which is the first
commandment with a promise – “ that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy a long life.”
Ephesians 6:1-4
Think of the words “honor” and “obey”.
What do these words mean to you? How Today, I felt God’s
do they differ? How do they play out in presence when…
your life?

Wednesday
Write a 4-line poem about a miracle, either one from the Bible or one
you witnessed this week. The first line should be a sentence about the
miracle. The second line: three adjectives that come to mind when you
think of this miracle. The third line: two colors. And the last, one word
that comes to mind when you think of God.

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send
up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our
exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. That we may be
made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayers This Week How God Answered

Preparing for Sunday

Gospel
Lk 2:41-52

Each year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the feast

of Passover,
and when he was twelve years old,
they went up according to festival custom.
After they had completed its days, as they were returning,
the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem,
but his parents did not know it.
Thinking that he was in the caravan,
they journeyed for a day
and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances,
but not finding him,
they returned to Jerusalem to look for him.
After three days they found him in the temple,
sitting in the midst of the teachers,
listening to them and asking them questions,
and all who heard him were astounded
at his understanding and his answers.
When his parents saw him,
they were astonished,
and his mother said to him,
“Son, why have you done this to us?
Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.”
And he said to them,
“Why were you looking for me?
Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
