Dynamism(Jangama) and Stasis(Sthavara) are a set of attributes of the
Absolute Consciousness(Siva) that can be linked with Light and Matter
respectively. The nature of Consciousness is composed of Siva and Sakti, that are metaphorical correlates of the particle and wave natures respectively, of both Light and Matter. [The dual nature of Light is substantiated as follows (i) Diffraction and Interference that represent its wave properties (ii) Photoelectric effect and Quantum theory that represent its particle properties.] [The dual nature of Matter is substantiated by the de Broglie Relation. In 1924 Louis de Broglie postulated that matter, like radiation exhibits a dual nature that is represented by the following equation -
= h/p where is the wavelength, h is the Planck's constant and p is the
momentum The waves associated with particles in motion are called matter waves or de Broglie waves.] Consciousness has been often described metaphorically as light, with attributes like resonance/pulsation (Spanda) and velocity/movement (Sphuratta). A thought experiment like the Schroedinger's cat brings the role of the observer as being inseparable from the events or states. One can represent the correlations through the following equations Light (Jangama) = (wave + particle) = (Sakti + Siva) = Consciousness Matter (Sthavara) = (particle + wave) = (Siva + Sakti) = Consciousness One can clearly observe the surprising correlations between the revelations of both science and Indian metaphysics. They can be viewed as the bridges that establish the autonomy(svatantraya) of light and consciousness, or the pulsation of the Light of Consciousness. Furthermore regarding the inseparable nature of Siva-Sakti one can find insights from the Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle. According to this principle it is impossible to determine simultaneously, both the position and momentum of an object with certainty. This is represented by the following
equation px h/4 where p is error in measurement of momentum and x is
error in measurement of position. We can perceive the inseparability of Siva-Sakti by assigning the property of position to Shiva and momentum to Shakti. The Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle rules out the existence of definite paths or trajectories of microscopic particles. This further adds to the autonomy of both light and consciousness. Perhaps a more definite correlation can be established between the sound waves detected from a super-massive black hole in the Perseus cluster of galaxies, and the cosmic sound "Om". The "note" from the black-hole is the deepest ever detected from any object in the universe, that translates in musical terms into a Bflat, 57 octaves lower than the middle C. The audible mantra "Om" is in harmony with the Bflat of the lower octaves of a piano.
