Introduction

This section provides procedures for the installation of Packages presupposing that skid has already been unpacked and moved towards its final space on site.
The Packages will be delivered as a complete skid mounted units ready for hook-up; only centrifuge bowls taken out of centrifuge for transport need to be installed. Therefore centrifuge bowl will be supplied in a separate
box.
All fixed pipelines must be safety supported to minimize vibrations or movements. Contact points or supports
must be designed in such a way that the pipes cannot get damaged. They must be fitted to allow pipe movement with changing temperatures without producing stress in the pipes.
Pipes and pipe connections must be accessible for maintenance. Pipelines may not be used for supporting distributors or devices with exception of small, purpose-built parts whose durability, accessibility and operation are
not affected.
They are to be fitted in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations or the relevant specifications.
Where special regulations have been issued by classification societies or other authorized organizations for the
installation
of
this
type
of
equipment,
they
shall
be
followed.

2.2

Local companies for the required scope of assembly

The companies which are responsible for erection, steelworks, cabling etc. must be qualified for the assembly of
the fluid supply system. The service personnel must be able to read and understand any kind of drawing / manual of the scope of supply.

2.3

Working area

The working area must be already prepared to start the work. Working places and devices are ready to use
suitable lifting; gears and cranes must be available. Sufficient area for prefabrication of supports, piping etc.
must be available directly besides the building, but not necessary inside this building. This space must be kept
free in order to man oeuvre the skids etc. easily.

2.4

Lifting / transportation sketches

After removing the side boards and

filling material, the bottom board can
be used as a special pallet for fork
lift trucks.

If no forklift trucks are available,

transport the case with the aid of a
crane (see diagram).
Attach the ropes to the point on the
packing case as marked on the
packing case.

Attach ropes round the case and

hang them into the load hook of the
crane.
CAUTION!
Wind one piece of rope twice round
the hook to prevent the ropes from
slipping.

To avoid damage, the bowl must be
removed from the separator before
transport.
The separator is normally delivered
without installed bowl.

CAUTION!
Prevent accidents by using suitably rated hoists for transport and installation.
When transporting rope, make sure
that one piece of rope is wound
twice round the hook to prevent the
ropes from slipping.
The rope must be properly attached
to the separator.
Ensure that no pulling or pushing
forces act on machine parts when
using ropes.

Installation of Centrifuge package

All motors should be rotated to check state and the bearings.

The ladder should now be bolted in position (where applicable).

The Centrifuge Package should then have its running rail installed to enable easy bowl handling.

If the package is to remain unused for a period of more than six months all motors should be rotated.

The external piping have to be installed within the forces and moments allowed to the skid connections.

The pipes which have to be connected to the skid must be inside clean, flushed and tested before
connection is done to the skid.

All piping shall be connected according to the requirements of the installation drawings / guidelines.

After the interconnecting piping is finished all screws of flange connections of fluid pipes inside the
treatment plant have to be re-tightened with a torque wrench with adequate turning moments.
NOTE:It is recommended that only qualified or authorized specialized staff may operate main-tain perform the
initial installation of the bowls and central oil bath upon their arrival for commissioning.
