ORGANISATION
As a final year student of Bachelor in Quantity Surveying (Hons), it is necessary for me to
complete a dissertation study. This is to fulfill the requirement set by the Department of Quantity
Surveying form Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). As for this study, it aims to identify how large
contractor implements in material management.. To achieve this, there are three objectives to
be met :
i.

To identify the knowledge about the construction industry in the contractors organisation

ii.

To identify the various method/technique implementation of material management

iii.

To identify the problem arises in material management and its solution in the current
construction industry

INTRODUCTION
With more and more upcoming contractor registering with the CIDB, competition will be tougher than ever
to get a large scale even though more projects are expected to come. To stay relevant and achieve great
success in construction projects, contractors must have their own and their best way of managing heir
resources in the projects when they had to chance

This study aims to understand the best way of managing material by large contractors.
