After reading both the Code of Ethics of Psychology and Psychometrician and Guidance
& Counseling, both had similar ethical principles, except one from the Guidance & Counseling
which is not stated in Psychology and Psychometricians Ethics. Below is the table of similarities
of the Code of Ethics of Psychology and Psychometrician and the Guidance & Counseling. In
the first row it tells about the responsibility of a practitioner to respect each clients dignity, rights
as a human and treating them fairly with no biases included. The second row tells about
respecting each clients ability to make decisions and be independent for themselves. And it
tells about the practioners role in promoting the clients well-being. The third row talks about the
practitioners relationship with the client, being honest, truthful, open, trustworthiness of a
practitioner. The fourth row tells about the practitioners responsibility to enhance her selfknowledge and skills and use it for the beneficial purposes and to protect it from being misused,
used incompetently, or made useless. The responsibility of a practitioner to promote the wellbeing of an individual and society, And also, the ability of a practitioner in taking care of herself.
And the last row talks about the availability of counseling services to clients. Although, it was not
stated in the Code of Ethics of Psychology but, it is also one of the purpose of a psychologist to
make counseling services be available to each individual.
In general, both professions have to respect each clients dignity, human rights, and the
