INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY
1. Disconnect the rubber air box deflector joiner
and disconnect the MAP sensor (Figures 1 and 2). To
disconnect MAP, squeeze the clip on the top of the
plug and pull off (Figure 3).

2. Undo the rubber hose to crossover duct clip then

unfasten the secondary air feed (lower) pipe rubber.
Refer to Figure 4. Disconnect vacuum line.

3. Separate the rubber hose from the crossover duct

and remove airbox. To remove the airbox, pull the
airbox hard upwards. This will allow access to the
shifter arm (Figure 5).

4. Pry off the shifter linkage cable as indicated by the

arrow, with a screwdriver or separator tool. (Figure 6)

5. Using a hammer and the supplied pin, carefully

tap the roll-pin (indicated by the arrow) until its clear
of the transmission shaft (Figure 7).

6. Remove the shifter arm by lifting it off the

transmission shaft.

7. Pick a position on the shifter arm (1 to 4) that

satisfies your needs. Put two washers on the stud and
Loctite it in position using supplied Loctite making
sure it is tight (Figure 8).
Note: The positions are as follows (exact numbers
may vary):
P1 24% reduction and moves shifter forward 25mm
P2 39% reduction and moves shifter forward 25mm
P3 40% reduction stock shifter location
P4 - 25% reduction stock shifter location

8. Install BPD short shift arm onto transmission shaft.

Using the supplied bolt, put a washer on one side of
the arm, (bolt will go back to front) [Figure 9]. Put
other washer on other side of arm followed by the
lock nut, then tighten.

Note: Depending on which position was selected, 1

and 2 or, 3 and 4, will determine the orientation of the
arm (put ball stud closest to shift linkage).

9. Reconnect the shifter cable as shown in Figure 10.

Ensure that all gears can be engaged and that the
position is to your liking.

10. Re-install airbox opposite the removal process,

working backwards from Step 3.

11. Make sure that all the parts are installed correctly
and tight. Take out for a test drive.

This part is designed to fit a 2013-2014 Ford Focus ST with a six speed manual transmission. If you
feel uncomfortable with the installation procedure or lack mechanical skills, we recommend having
this product professionally installed by a qualified mechanic. Please read through the entire packet
