THE PRINCES TRUST INSPIRING YOUNG LIVES

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Fairbridge is aimed at the most disengaged young
people who are far away from reaching their potential,
have chaotic lifestyles and are not aware of and/or
unable to overcome problems in their lives.

Were a charity that helps unemployed young people to

overcome their barriers and move forward towards
education, employment or training. In 2011, Fairbridge
became part of The Princes Trust and it is now one of our
core programmes. The Fairbridge programme currently
runs in 15 Princes Trust Centres across the UK.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Fairbridge programme begins with a ve-day Access
course. Its specically designed for young people who
may have struggled with more structured programmes
and is delivered using challenging and adventurous
activities including a few days away from home at an
outdoor residential venue.

The Princes Trust also has a range of other programmes

these are listed on the back of this leaet.

Young people then choose from a wide variety of Follow

On courses to develop personal and social skills that are
practised in a range of relevant life situations as the young
person moves through the programme.

THE FAIRBRIDGE PROGRAMME

Fairbridge is an individually tailored personal development
programme for young people aged between 13 and 25. It
combines one-to-one support and group activities,
delivered by a dedicated team in Princes Trust Centres.

Young people receive one-to-one support from a

dedicated team in The Princes Trust Centre which helps
them to get the most from the experience. The
programme continues for as long as its needed and, once
ready, young people are supported in moving on to a
positive step or outcome.

The programme helps marginalised and excluded young

people who face a range of issues and barriers in their
lives. It empowers them through a range of positive
opportunities and experiences and helps them re-engage
with society.
