artifact contains examples of both leadership and legacy. This contains a lot of helpful
information about Harriet and her life.

article says that Harriet is back at her home and penniless. Mary B. Talbert tried to
convince the Empire State Federation to give Harriet a monthly income of $25 monthly.
This is an example of her legacy because everything she worked for in her live made
others want to make sure she knew she was appreciated.

alive. In this article a church donated to Harriets fund and the womens clubs are going
to help Harriet in her last years. This shows legacy because her influences throughout
her life led others to want to help her.

Representatives. This attributes to her legacy because her involvement as a

This is a primary source because it is a letter written by George Underwood from June
26th, 1898. This letter is about Nelson Charles service in the military and Tubmans help
as a nurse in the war. This artifact shows legacy because her efforts during the war was
noticed by others and they wanted to reward her for it.

This is a primary source because it is a letter from February 5th, 1898 about raising
Tubmans pension. This artifact shows Tubmans leadership during the war as a nurse,
cook, and spy. This is also helpful because the person who wrote this letter, Sereno E.
Payne, personally knew Harriet Tubman.

Tubman talked to them and how they admired her work. This shows me that her

This is a primary source because its a photograph of Harriet sitting in a rocking chair
outside. You are able to see the indention on her head from the weight she was hit with
as a child. This contributes to her legacy because she wasnt scared of anyone and was
a strong-willed women.
