President Al-Sisi on new year's day is no exception. I reproduce below the popular quote, with original

I am referring here to the religious clerics. We have to think hard about what we are
facingand I have, in fact, addressed this topic a couple of times before. Its
inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire
umma[Islamic world] to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest
of the world. Impossible!
That thinkingI am not saying religion but thinkingthat corpus of texts and ideas
that we have sacralized over the years, to the point that departing from them has become
almost impossible, is antagonizing the entire world. Its antagonizing the entire world!
Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the worlds
inhabitantsthat is 7 billionso that they themselves may live? Impossible!
I am saying these words here at Al Azhar, before this assembly of scholars and ulema
Allah Almighty be witness to your truth on Judgment Day concerning that which Im
talking about now.
All this that I am telling you, you cannot feel it if you remain trapped within this mindset.
You need to step outside of yourselves to be able to observe it and reflect on it it from a
more enlightened perspective.
I say and repeat again that we are in need of a religious revolution. You, imams, are
responsible before Allah. The entire world, I say it again, the entire world is waiting for
your next move because this umma is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost
and it is being lost by our own hands.

He does not want to change the substance, he wants to change the image so that we will not wise up and
demand that Islam be exterminated.

The Qur'an defines Islam. The hadith & Sira exemplify Islam. Tafsirs explain the plain meaning of the

Qur'an. Shari'ah codifies it into law. Many Muslims can not read those texts; most who can will not. They
get their knowledge from clerics. If clerics preach something other than the genuine meaning of those texts,
and the few who are able and willing to read do so, then there will be a movement, such as Wahabbism, to
renovate it.

5.3...This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have
chosen for you Islm as your religion. ...
54.5 Perfect wisdom (this Qur'n), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not,
Allah said that he perfected your religion for you: Islam. How do you presume to improve what your deity
has perfected? Who knows Allah's religion better, you or Allah? Those who propose improvements to Islam
thereby deny its divinity & validity. If Islam needs improvement, then Allah is not God and Islam is not a
true religion.

Demanding reformation of Islam to remove its intrinsic genocidal violence & terror is evidence of
idiocy or dishonesty if not both. Allah has the last word in Islam, read what he said and get a clue.
3:78 And verily, among them is a party who distort the Book with their tongues (as they read), so that
you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they say: "This is from Allh," but
it is not from Allh; and they speak a lie against Allh while they know it.
6:115. And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can change His
Words. And He is the AllHearer, the AllKnower.
10:15. And when Our Clear Verses are recited unto them, those who hope not for their meeting with
Us, say: Bring us a Qur'n other than this, or change it."Say (O Muhammad ): "It is not for me to
change it on my own accord; I only follow that which is revealed unto me. Verily, I fear if I were to
disobey my Lord, the torment of the Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."
10:17. So who does more wrong than he who forges a lie against Allh or denies His Ayt (proofs,
evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)? Surely, the Mujrimn (criminals, sinners,
disbelievers and polytheists) will never be successful! 10:64. ... No change can there be in the Words
of Allh, this is indeed the supreme success.
18:27. And recite what has been revealed to you (O Muhammad ) of the Book (the Qur'n) of your
Lord (i.e. recite it, understand and follow its teachings and act on its orders and preach it to men).
None can change His Words, and none will you find as a refuge other than Him.
30:30. So set you (O Muhammad ) your face towards the religion of pure Islmic Monotheism Hanifa
(worship none but Allh Alone) Allh's Fitrah (i.e. Allh's Islmic Monotheism), with which He has

created mankind. No change let there be in Khalqillh (i.e. the Religion of Allh Islmic
Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not. [Tafsir AtTabar, Vol 21, Page
41]
2:59. But those who did wrong changed the word from that which had been told to them for another,
so We sent upon the wrong-doers Rijzan (a punishment) from the heaven because of their rebelling
against Allh's Obedience. (Tafsir At-Tabar, Vol. I, Page 305).
2:211. Ask the Children of Israel how many clear Ayt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs,
revelations, etc.) We gave them. And whoever changes Allh's Favour after it had come to him,
[e.g. renounces the Religion of Allh (Islm) and accepts Kufr (disbelief),] then surely, Allh is Severe
in punishment.
5:13. So because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard.
They change the words from their (right) places and have abandoned a good part of the Message that
was sent to them. ...
Moe cursed anyone who would defang Islam, consigning them to the fire.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 76, Number 585:
Narrated Abu Hazim from Sahl bin Sa'd:
The Prophet said, "I am your predecessor (forerunner) at the Lake-Fount, and
whoever will pass by there, he will drink from it and whoever will drink from it, he will
never be thirsty. There will come to me some people whom I will recognize, and they
will recognize me, but a barrier will be placed between me and them." Abu Hazim
added: An-Nu'man bin Abi 'Aiyash, on hearing me, said. "Did you hear this from
Sahl?" I said, "Yes." He said, " I bear witness that I heard Abu Said Al-Khudri saying
the same, adding that the Prophet said: 'I will say: They are of me (i.e. my followers).
It will be said, 'You do not know what they innovated (new things) in the religion
after you left'. I will say, .
Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet said, "On the Day of Resurrection a group of
companions will come to me, but will be driven away from the Lake-Fount, and I will
say, 'O Lord (those are) my companions!' It will be said, 'You have no knowledge
as to what they innovated after you left; they turned apostate as renegades
(reverted from Islam)."

Reform Islam means concealing the Quranic imperatives that mandate genocidal conquest,
sanctifying plunder, rape & slavery, the ahadith which confirm them and the Shari'ah which codifies
them until the Ummah is sufficiently numerous and strong to complete its mission of global conquest.
