A SAMPLE GROUP BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE

Mark 2: 1-12
Introduction:
In Mark 1 we find Jesus very busy teaching and healing all kinds of sick
people in Capernaum and the surrounding regions of Galilee. Because of this He
became very popular and sought for by many people. In Capernaum, especially He
did many wonderful things. No wonder when He went there again people flocked to
Him.

that house? V2-3

his sins were forgiven, they immediately noticed that Jesus had claimed a
power which belonged to God alone. How did Jesus answer their inner
questioning? V8-11

about their view of
Jesus? Did their questioning obstruct or enhance Jesus ministry? How?
9. What were the results of this miracle? V12

Transitional Summary:
The scribes challenge to Jesus deity paved the way for Him to show divine
power. Jesus has the
power and the authority to forgive sins. But to show the people a visible
proof of this power, He
healed. In this way His divinity was demonstrated. Jesus was man and He
was also God.
10.How are the men examples for you? How can you show that you believe
Jesus will solve a problem you are facing now?
11.What does v8 teach about Jesus? How should this affect your attitude
towards doubts, fears and mental reservations?
12.Jesus has the power to forgive sins. How should you respond to this truth?
13.How can you testify for God so that people will praise Him? Is the change in
your life so apparent that people cant help believe Him?

14. Do you have mental reservations about the deity of Jesus? Jesus knows
your thoughts.
Therefore can only be honest about them. You can sincerely
pray that he show Himself to you
as He showed himself to the power of the questioning scribes, the needy
sick man and the trustful four men.
Summary:
Ask each member to share one thing they have learned. Sum up what you
have learned about the
nature of Christ. How should you respond to this? Close in prayer.
