MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 07-2014

ADOPTING PROVINCIAL ORDINANCE NO. 12-2012, AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING
GUIDELINES FOR THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF DENGUE IN THE PROVINCE OF
ALBAY, IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS,

dengue fever is an infectious and viral disease and even life-threatening once not
properly and immediately treated. It has become a leading cause of hospitalization
and in some cases, even death, among children and adults;

WHEREAS,

the Municipality of Guinobatan has not been spared from the dreadful effects
caused by this dengue fever, in fact, its constituents have experienced more than
their fair share in the infection;

WHEREAS,

this local government hopes to deal with the prevention and control of dengue
fever and since an ordinance to address dengue fever situations within the
municipality is yet to be enacted, and, this august body, after thorough
consideration, found that Albay Provincial Ordinance No. 12-2012 is
comprehensive enough to address the situation, adoption of the same becomes
inevitable and beneficial;

WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:

RESOLVED,

as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay in

session assembled, to Adopt as it hereby Adopts Provincial Ordinance No. 122012, An Ordinance Prescribing Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of
Dengue in the Province of Albay, Imposing Penalties for Violation Thereof and for
Other Purposes.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Municipal Health Office, and
such other concerned offices or agencies, for their information and appropriate
action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY, on motion of Honorable Councilor Carlomagno P. Flores and duly
seconded by the members present this 27 th day of January, 2014 during their 4 th
Regular Session.
