sins Isaiah 43:25-26 Amplified
THE GOODNESS OF GOD
I was fifteen. I couldnt explain what got into me as I took the empty glass soda bottle and threw it at my
elder brother. It almost broke his head. What was his offence? He did nothing to me after all. It was another
person who offended me and I took it out on my brother. When I came to myself, I found it difficult to forgive
myself. What if I had killed him? I was so guilty that even when my elder brother couldnt get me to forget the
past. I carried that guilt with me wherever I went. Although my brother held nothing against me, I refused to let go
of the guilt of the sin. I carried that sin throughout my teenage years. Every day, I saw myself with heavy loads like
that of the man in Pilgrims Progress. I knew that only self-forgiveness could take the load away, and by the grace
of God, I found the answer at the foot of the cross of Christ. Truly, the cross is still mighty to save. It saved me!
There are many people today that have found it difficult to forgive themselves even when God has forgiven
them of their past sins. They dont know that there is something known as The Goodness of God. Self
unforgivingness is a canker that has caused many hospital beds to be overly populated today. It is so unfortunate
that we are often overwhelmed with the impacts of sins while Calvary has already remedied our circumstances.
When a man fails to forgive self, he gives a direct invitation to the devil to manipulate his life and future. Ugly
situations become the outcome of such a life. Most quarrels arise from the underlying stance of self
unforgivingness. Psychologists consider this type as projection. Whereas the problem is in-situ, most people think
that it is the other person that is at fault. When the grace of forgiveness overtakes an individual, life becomes
worthy of living, and thats the very essence of Joyful Living. Let me soberly challenge you to learn to forgive and
you would testify to the reason for the awesome peace you would experience. Why is it so, because we have been
told that To err is human but to forgive is Divine? To forgive is to take up Godly nature, an attribute which only
the Almighty God alone dominantly possesses. Life is too short to compromise the good it brings because of
unforgivingness in the heart. Unforgivingness eats up the very fabric of the soul that goodness in life depends on.
You cannot forgive others completely unless you have forgiven yourself. Forgiveness, it sooths the heart for sure!
Isaiah 43:25-26 is a compendium of Divine imperative. It is an epitome of Gods goodness to man. It soothes
the heart of the simple. It repudiates the carnality of the human intention. It is the beginning of joy to them that
have been in sorrow all along. It creates ecstasy to the gloomy and clears the mirage for the confused. Read it
again, I, even I, am He Who blots out {and} cancels your transgressions, for My own sake, and I will not remember
your sins Beloved, this message is beyond my comprehension. It is the epoch of ecstasy to me. This is wonderful.
So, when man tries to accuse me of my past sins, Heaven considers that as spiritual insolence. And I can boldly say
that Joyful Living experience is mine since I have accepted Gods total forgiveness for my sins. Have you? Amen?
Prayer Point: Father, grant me the patience to know that my dreams will be fulfilled in accordance with your plans, not mine. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen!
