Dear Sir,

Greetings in the name of our Lord, Jesus,

I have a two-fold reason for writing this letter to you
The f i r s t r e a s o n is to tell you how much we appreciate Horizons
magazine.
I t i s very good to keep up with what other
missionaries and mission groups are doing.
It is also good to
see the seope of involvement our brother-hood has world wide,
Keep up the good work
The second purpose of this letter is to ask you for help in
letting people know how important the work is here in Scotland.
As of July 26th, my wife Jeanne and I are the only serving
missionaries in Scotland, to the best of my knowledge.
We are in

contact with two other couples that have shown a desire to work
in Scotland and we hope and pray that they will come.

One of the big drawbacks to working here is the cost of

living and ministering here.
Another drawback is the notion by
our stateside brethren that Scotland is a Christian country.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Scotland is a country
where less than 4% of the people attend Sunday Worship on any
given Sunday.
This does swell to 12 % or so on Easter and
Christmas.
Far from what I would call a Christian country.
Because of this belief, it is very hard to raise support to work

here.

The people here need to hear the Gospel just as those in

Russia, South Africa, South America and on and on.

The point is
that we need workers and they need support!!
Jeanne and I have been here since January 17th, 1990.
In
that time we have immersed 31 people.
Many of those people have
moved on because of work or school

all over the United Kingdom.

and are

in church situations

It is true that we may never have a

church with two or three hundred people in i t or we may never be

self-supporting but we need to be here and to maintain a presence

here.

If we don't,

and various cults,

who will??

The Mormans,

Jehovah Witnesses

that's who!

Because we do not have sufficient support Jeanne and I

are

in danger of having to return stateside.

This would fit the
devils plan very well.
Could you help us by advertising our
plight and the need for our presence here.
Any help that you can
give will be very , very appreciated.
