The University of Akron requires confirmation of financial resources for each student on an F-1/J-1 visa prior
to issuing the form I-20 (for F-1) or DS-2019 (for J-1). The table below illustrates annual minimum funding
requirements. The following amounts are estimates and subject to change.

your disposal to cover the first year expenses. You must demonstrate that adequate funds will be available
in the same amount throughout your program. The bank statement(s) must be original, in English, issued not
earlier than within one year prior to the starting date of your program, and show the amount in US dollars. If
translated, translation must be signed and sealed by the appropriate bank or government official.
Photocopies, scans, faxes, and prints from on-line accounts will not be accepted.
