Vails self-serving
philosophy. He opted to redeem himself from whatever he did when he
worked in the States Attorneys Office. Atty. Vail appeared to be a
prodigious lawyer, by way of portraying the role of what lawyers ought
to be in their practice. But the greatness in him wasnt earned purely
from licit means since he employed certain acts which violated one of
the ethical standards in the practice of law as what weve known
ambulance chasing. The moment that the public was bombarded with
the news about Aaron Stampler thru media flash reports and TV
broadcasts about the killing of the Archbishop Rushman, he, Atty. Vail,
immediately went to the said accused and offered his services pro
bono. Though he offered his services for free, such was maneuvered
by him to reach the end goal of attaining publicity or familiarity in the
filed of his practice. Hoping with gleeful feels that he could raise his
profile by defending the obviously guilty suspect. Wherein by all means
of the trial, he helped the accused young man, Aaron, to spare from
capital punishment that he really thought was innocent.
As a lawyer, Atty. Vail knew then that what the accused told him
was a mediocre crime story and theres a bit chance for him to win the
case. Yet still, he pursued to continue despite of the strong
contradicting evidences presented by the other party. Considering all
the allegations thrown on their party (Atty. Vails), none of those made
him turn his back in defending the case. He got to be strong with
vindication arguing that some kind of inherent goodness somehow
overrides bad actions; that even a saint could do bad things we
couldnt imagine.
(Insert the contempt thingy na lang James/Kvyn, katung nagtalk
sya sa judge harshly. Relate it to a certain canon that would fit in the
violation he committed kay katugon nako. Kapoy open book. Lol)
The judge rendered judgment that Aaron was not guilty because
of insanity, as what theyve witnessed in court. Freeing the accused
from conviction, she decided that Aaron Stampler needs hospitalization
rather than incarceration.
