figure of 9 dB and an available power gain of 15 dB. Calculate the overall noise figure referred to

11- For the system of two stage amplifier the first stage has a noise figure of 2 dB and a gain of 12dB,
the second stage has a noise figure of 6 dB and a power gain of 10 dB. What is the over all noise
figure (in dB).

12- Draw the block diagram of superhetrodyne receiver for FM. Explain each block.
13- Explain demodulation of FM using Foster Seeley method and also explain Ratio Detector.
14- A super heterodyne receiver uses an IF frequency of 455 kHz. The receiver is tuned to a
transmitter having a carrier frequency of 2400 kHz. Calculate the value of image frequency.

20- Design (only block diagram) an Armstrong indirect FM modulator to generate an FM signal with
carrier frequency is 98.1MHz and frequency deviation is 75kHz. A NBFM generator is available
at a carrier frequency of 100 kHz and a frequency deviation of 10 Hz. The stock room also has an
oscillator with an adjustable frequency in the range of 10 to 11MHz. You can use frequency
doubler, triplers and quintuplers for frequency multiplier.
