Recruitment Packet Spring 2015

Meet the Greeks:

-ALL DETAILS ARE YET TO BE DETERMINED BY CPC. (you ladies will
know
as soon as I do!!)
-the times listed below is when the first group of PNMs comes, sisters
will be notified of the time they need to arrive once I know when we
are allowed to start setting up!
-ALSO, we will be implementing set up and clean up crews for all of the
rounds similar to the crews used for our recruitment event last
semester.
**THROUGHOUT ALL OF ROUNDS I WANT US ALL LOOKING OUR
BEST. THIS MEANS HAIR, MAKE UP AND NAILS DONE, EYE
BROWS WAXED, HAIR DYED, ETC. IT IS EASIER TO TALK TO
NEW PEOPLE WHEN YOU ARE FEELING CONFIDENT AND IF WE
ARE ALL LOOKING OUR BEST THERE IS NO REASON WHY
TALKING TO THESE GIRLS DURING ROUNDS SHOULD BE THAT
DIFFICULT**

Round One: Friday January 30, 2015 @

5:00 PM
THIS NIGHT WILL BE TOTALLY MARDI GRAS THEMED!
-Our goal for this evening will be to create an open and fun
environment for PNMs in order to make them comfortable.
-the bumping technique will be utilized, a list will be made by myself
and Nicole of sisters. Each sister will have a partner where one of the
two sisters will start a conversation with a PNM and then their partner
will come over after some time has passed and the first sister will then
be transitioned out of the conversation (A WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD
BY OUR EC IN ORDER TO PERFECT THIS TECHNIQUE, IF YOU ARE
COMING TO FORMAL RECRUITMENT WHICH THE MAJORITY OF YOU
SHOULD BE THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE 100000% MANDATORY).
TIME LINE
-there will be six groups of PNMs all staying with us for 25 minutes
ATTIRE
-for this round sisters will be wearing the recruitment 2015 shirt
-black jeans (DARK blue jeans are acceptable but since we are all
home on break we should really try to get black jeans/jeggings- please
no leggings I want us to look uniform).
-black boots or ballet flats (whichever you are more comfortable in
and look appropriate with the outfit.)

-as for jewelry, I do not want anyone wearing bracelets during any of
the rounds (a lot of times when talking to someone new you tend to
play with your bracelets and it is distracting and can be taken as rude
in some cases) HOWEVER I think it would be awesome if EVERYONE
could wear either a gold statement necklace or gold dangling earrings.
Since gold is a major color in Mardi Gras and one of our colors!
-ALSO, I expect that during rounds we are going to look our absolute
best. This means eyebrows waxed, roots dyed, nails done, hair curled
or straightened, make up done in a neat and clean fashion.
-there will be mardi gras/ AST baked goods and refreshments at this
round FOR PNMs only!

Round Two: Saturday January 31, 2015 @

9:00 AM
THIS ROUND WILL BE MORE FOCUSED ON Alpha Sigma Tau.
-Our goal for this evening will be to have each PNM feel like they
learned something about our great sisterhood and that at least some of
them feel as though they have formed a connection.
-An older sister will be chosen to give a speech about her experiences
while she was an active member of Alpha Sigma Tau.
-Our philanthropy will also be a major focus during this round!! Im
thinking a power point or maybe an activity of some sort to make our
philanthropy more known and personal to the PNMs.
-bumping technique will be utilized again but there will be different
partners (just incase you get the same PNM in round one, we want you
to talk to as many different PNMs as possible)
-AST wall (string pictures on wall)
-AST table
-AST tri fold board
-AST/philanthropy slideshow
TIME LINE
-there will be four groups of PNMs that stay for 35 minutes each
ATTIRE
-Standard letter shirt
-blue/black jeans
-black heels, flats or boots (NO UGGS)
-AGAIN, no bracelets or rings but other jewelry such as earrings or a
necklace is acceptable

Preference Night: Saturday January 31,

2015 @ 7:00 PM

Goal: To show PNMs that although our image on campus may not be
the best we are an amazing sisterhood and support system.

-PNMs will enter and take an envelope with their name on it from a
table and then will be directed to a group of chairs where they can sit
and read the letters.
-Pref night ritual will occur
TIME LINE
-there will be two groups of PNMs that will stay for 45 minutes each

ATTIRE
Black dress and black flats or heels (BLACK SWEATERS CAN BE WORN
IF NEEDED/DESIRED)
SO THIS MEANS WHILE YOU LOVELIES ARE ALL AT HOME YOU
SHOULD EITHER BUY OR BRING BACK TO SCHOOL:
-black boots/heels/flats
-black jeans
-blue jeans
-gold statement necklace and/or gold dangling earrings
-black dress
-black sweater (optional)
-hair dye
-make up
-hair curler/straightener
