PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Purpose:
The position has overall responsibility for Procurement development and technical support to purchasing
and suppliers in an international team environment with a strong focus on quality, delivery and cost. The
incumbent is also responsible for development of a robust supplier induction and supplier on-boarding
program. The incumbent shall be responsible to move Procurement up the maturity curve.
The successful candidate will be working with domestic and external contacts, with suppliers and the Global
Purchasing Organization. The position will also be working internally in close co-operation with other company
functions like R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Material Planning, and Logistics.
This position owns Amway Supplier Qualification Program (ASQP) and leads development of suppliers for both
existing and new projects. This position is also responsible for managing Analytics Role for the Procurement
function. The role involves Segmentation of Suppliers, moving of the suppliers amongst various quadrants as
per business needs, Lead Supplier Engagement activities, rating of suppliers and submission and reporting of
various reports as per agreed KPIs like TEV numbers etc.
Job Responsibilities:

Participate in the selection of new suppliers relating to the manufacture for all business lines at Amway.
Support the buyers during the development phase and coordinate the technical links between the
Technical department, the current purchasing organization and the suppliers
Facilitate Value Analysis projects at supplier locations.
Strong participation during the selection/implementation together with the buyers and the suppliers
Define quality expectations with suppliers.
Promote early supplier involvement at project development stages
Provides input on supplier risk, capability and quality to product development teams.
Coordinate preventative and corrective action between facilities and suppliers
Team with Purchasing to lead on-site assessments of potential and existing suppliers
Measure and track Perfect Order targets for CMs and suppliers.
Lead supplier segmentation and agree movement of suppliers from one quadrant to another in full
alignment with Sourcing strategies.
Lead Supplier Engagement Activities, develop meeting tracker and facilitate top to top engagements.
Track capability of Procurement team w.r.t Proc Mastery Training and its application.

Functional Skills:

Benchmarking: Benchmarking seeks to deliver enhanced business results/competitive advantage through use of an
on-going process of comparing and contrasting our quantitative results (e.g. cost, quality, etc.) and processes,
internally and externally, to determine best in class; then identifying and implementing appropriate plans to deliver
best in class results that meet the business needs.
Business Partner Relationship Management: Procurement manages relationships with our key internal Business
Partners to know and understand their business needs. Procurement is able to build relationships by utilizing tools
such as the Joint Business Plan process, initiative list management and effective persuasive selling skills.
Commercial Agreements: Procurement drafts and executes (in partnership with Legal) pertinent written agreements
for on-going requirements (purchase orders, leases, Contracts, etc.); and Procurement collaborates on establishment
of pertinent agreements for development requirements (CDAs, JDAs, Letters of Intent, etc.)
Industry Analysis: Industry Analysis provides the Company with competitive advantage by obtaining and analysing
information on industry supply/demand dynamics, production technology and cost structure (feedstock, capital) which
is used to build effective sourcing strategies, cost forecasts, and negotiation positions.
Competitive Analysis: Competitive Analysis contributes to competitive advantage by gathering and using information
about competitors materials, technologies, supply base, sourcing strategies, suppliers, material costs, and processes
to enable the benchmarking/forecasting of competitors material/services prices and material/services changes.
Competitive Bidding: Procurement uses competitive bidding, including pre-inquiry meetings, to insure our price
competiveness in the market place thus deliver business results and a competitive advantage.
Economic Analysis: Procurement forecasts costs, availability and trends of material purchased by Amway, and
anticipate significant short and long-term changes which may impact our sourcing and/or business strategy.
Linking & Leveraging: Delivers a competitive advantage by linking Amway business needs to supplier and industry
capabilities and innovation via in-depth knowledge of industries and suppliers. Links Amway's supplier performance
expectations with supplier capabilities and drives performance improvement as needed.
Negotiation: Plans and carries out negotiations, including development of negotiation objectives/
goals/strategies/tactics to achieve required business results with consideration for desired impact on new and existing
supplier relationships.
Policy & Stewardship: Understanding and appropriate application of principles and policies in key areas that
influence our practices and behaviours in sourcing activities.
Sourcing Strategy: Sourcing Strategy delivers required business results by appropriately applying the concepts
needed to determine/develop sourcing strategies and to modify those existing strategies as required by changing
business and market conditions.
Supplier Analysis: Supplier Analysis develops a superior understanding of supplier capability & uses that
understanding to deliver that suppliers goods to provide optimum total value results to the business.
Supplier Relationship Management: SRM is used for managing key supplier relationships to deliver improved
business results. It is intended to drive supplier-generated value that enhances Amways competitive position with both
our customers and consumers.

General Skills:

imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams.

Experience/Qualifications:

6-8 years of hands-on working experience in Supplier Development / Procurement.


BE (Production/Mechanical/Industrial) or BCom. A management degree shall be preferred.
Atleast 2 to 3 years of core purchasing experience is absolute must.
