I(will(make(a(way(in(the(wilderness(and(rivers(in(the(desert.!Isaiah(43:19!
!
If!there!is!any!verse!that!describes!the!place!Immanuel!is!at!on!our!journey!with!
God,!this!word!from!Isaiah!captures!it!perfectly.!!I!believe!it!is!confirmation!from!the!
Lord!that!all!that!is!happening!among!us!is!springing!forth!from!God!himself!!
!
There!was!a!lot!in!2014!that!was!new!for!which!we!can!give!thanks.!We!moved!from!
the!Hillendale!Fire!Station!to!Beville!Middle!School!in!March.!With!that!move!came!
expanded!space!for!discipleship!ministries;!a!larger,!cleaner!place!for!our!nursery!to!
care!for!our!youngest!members;!and!a!worship!space!that!is!bright!and!inviting!for!
visitors!and!members!alike.!
!
This!fall!our!Vestry!and!Ministry!Leaders!put!the!finishing!touches!on!our!new!
Mission!and!Vision!statement.!This!document!is!the!culmination!of!a!year!of!praying,!
meeting,!and!discerning!Gods!new!thing!for!Immanuel.!It!will!serve!as!a!roadmap!
for!our!common!life!together!for!the!next!few!years.!One!of!the!things!I!like!most!
about!it!is!that!it!recognizes!the!best!of!what!weve!been!for!the!past!50!years!and!
builds!upon!that!foundation!for!our!future.!
!
We!have!also!seen!God!bring!new!individuals!and!families!to!Immanuel!over!the!
past!year.!Stepping!out!in!faith!to!move!from!the!fire!station!to!Beville!has!allowed!
us!the!privilege!to!welcome!our!newest!members!and!provide!opportunities!for!
them!to!worship!and!grow!in!their!faith.!I!think!this!is!just!the!beginning!of!our!
growth!and!I!am!already!working!with!our!leadership!to!make!plans!for!future!
growth!for!ministry!at!Beville.!
!
Along!with!the!excitement!of!seeing!our!future!in!the!new!people!God!is!bringing,!we!
are!catching!a!glimpse!of!our!future!in!the!property!that!God!brought!us!in!2014!as!
well.!Over!this!year,!we!located!a!piece!of!property!on!Hoadly!Road!that!met!all!of!
the!criteria!given!to!our!Move!Team!when!they!began!their!search.!It!is!situated!in!a!
growing!edge!of!our!county!within!2!miles!of!5!schools!(counting!the!new!high!
school)!!We!have!received!positive!initial!feedback!from!county!officials!and!our!
new!neighbors,!and!the!rezoning!process!is!well!on!track.!We!also!engaged!an!
architect!to!begin!the!process!of!building!design.!

Yet,!while!there!is!so!much!to!celebrate!in!new!things,!we!need!to!acknowledge!that!
change!is!never!easy.!Much!that!was!loved!about!St.!Margarets!is!gone!forever.!The!
building!and!activities!it!held!are!part!of!our!past.!As!new!people!come,!new!ideas,!
new!leadership,!and!a!new!normal!will!begin!to!emerge.!!
!
One!of!the!hard!parts!of!a!growing!church!is!a!change!in!the!family!dynamic.!In!the!
same!way!a!family!changes!when!children!get!married!and!new!in!laws!are!grafted!
in,!the!Immanuel!family!will!be!forever!different!as!we!grow.!While!it!is!exciting!to!
grow,!there!is!also!a!sense!of!loss!of!what!once!was.!Theres!nothing!wrong!with!
that!!In!fact,!only!churches!that!acknowledge!that!loss!and!work!through!it!are!
successful!in!continuing!growth.!!And,!so,!we!must!move!forward!with!grace!for!one!
another.!There!will!be!growing!pains.!There!will!be!bumps!along!the!road.!Well!get!
some!things!right,!but!well!make!some!mistakes!as!well.!Lets!commit!to!love!one!
another!well!as!we!walk!this!road!together.!
!
Thankfully,!we!can!move!forward!with!confidence.!The!promise!of!the!passage!in!
Isaiah!is!this:!if!God!is!bringing!the!new!thing,!we!can!trust!that!it!is!for!our!good.!If!
God!is!bringing!the!new!thing,!he!will!make!a!way!in!the!wilderness!and!rivers!in!
the!desert!to!help!us!on!the!path!of!change.!If!God!is!bringing!the!new!thing,!he!will!
give!us!grace!and!love!for!one!another!as!we!live!together!in!this!new!season!at!
Immanuel.!My!prayer!is!that!the!words!of!Jesus!to!his!disciples!will!ring!true!for!us!
as!well,!By!this!all!people!will!know!that!you!are!my!disciples,!if!you!have!love!for!
one!another.!(John!13:35)!

As!I!finish!this!first!calendar!year!as!your!Rector,!I!am!again!reminded!of!the!great!
privilege!God!has!given!me.!Immanuel!is!a!special!place!!God!intends!to!give!us!the!
anointing!and!power!of!the!name!he!gave!us.!Let!us!pray!together!that!we!will!know!
the!reality!and!power!of!God!with!us!in!the!days!and!years!to!come!!

Senior Wardens Report

The!year!of!2014!was!one!of!continuing!transition!for!our!church.!!We!began!the!
year!with!great!expectations!of!seeing!God!at!work!within!the!Immanuel!
congregation!and!Vestry.!!Late!in!2013!the!Vestry!was!led!by!the!Lord!to!move!out!of!
our!comfort!zone!and!find!a!new!worship!location.!!There!was!an!obvious!lack!of!
classroom!and!nursery!space!to!support!our!youth!programs!at!the!Dale!City!Fire!
Station!and!the!facility!shortfalls!were!seriously!hampering!efforts!to!bring!more!
people!to!Jesus.!!!!
!
Our!first!step!as!the!new!Vestry!was!to!finalize!planning!for!the!move!to!Beville!
Middle!School,!which!had!been!approved!by!the!Vestry!the!previous!November.!!
Charlie!Martin!had!done!yeomans!work!in!planning!for!the!move!while!on!the!
Vestry!and!continued!to!help!lead!the!effort!along!with!the!new!Junior!Warden,!Scott!
Ankers.!!In!February!2014!we!signed!a!contract!with!the!school!to!rent!their!
cafeteria!and!two!classrooms!and!purchased!a!trailer!and!mobile!shelving!to!store!
and!transport!our!nursery!and!worship!equipment.!!We!held!our!first!Sunday!
service!at!the!school!on!March!16.!!!
!
Since!the!move!in!March!we!have!seen!our!youth!programs!and!average!Sunday!
attendance!grow!dramatically.!!Our!average!Sunday!attendance!for!2014!has!grown!
13%!compared!to!2013.!!This!growth!caused!us!to!rent!a!third!classroom!at!Beville.!!
Indeed,!the!Lord!has!been!faithful!as!the!Vestry!and!the!congregation!leaned!upon!
Him!and!sought!His!direction!through!this!challenge.!
!
Another!major!effort!dealing!with!Immanuels!future!began!in!January.!!Under!the!
leadership!of!Fr.!Clint,!the!Vestry!and!Ministry!Team!leaders!held!two,!dayklong!
Visioning!Retreats,!the!first!in!January!and!again!in!April.!!Both!retreats!were!
facilitated!by!Kim!Kerley.!!After!hours!of!discussion!and!prayer!in!the!February!and!
March!Vestry!meetings!new!mission!and!visioning!statements!were!finalized!and!
implementation!strategies!developed.!!This!work!became!the!foundation!resulting!in!
the!creation!of!a!set!of!measurable!goals!to!achieve!for!the!2014!through!2019!
period.!!These!goals!now!serve!as!a!guide!for!all!vestry!decisions.!!We!believe!these!
living!documents!will!continue!to!be!refined!over!the!next!five!years!as!the!Lord!
leads!us!forward.!!We!clearly!saw!God!at!work!throughout!this!rigorous!process.!
!
Certainly!the!most!time!consuming!effort!of!all!in!2014!was!working!to!find!the!
church!a!permanent!home.!!The!Vestry,!Move!Team,!and!Spiritual!Move!Team!
worked!diligently,!as!was!the!case!throughout!most!of!2013!when!the!search!
process!started.!!During!the!first!quarter!of!the!year,!with!the!support!of!the!
Spiritual!Move!Team,!the!Move!Team!continued!to!meet!to!look!at!various!options!!

for!leasing!as!well!as!to!refine!land!purchase!requirements!to!include!location,!
visibility,!parcel!size,!and!affordability.!!The!team!looked!at!numerous!properties!for!
sale!both!on!paper!and!through!site!visits!as!well!as!visiting!two!DOMA!churches!
that!had!chosen!to!lease!rather!than!buy.!!
!
In!February,!the!Lord!led!us!to!an!11.5!acre!property!fronting!Hoadly!Road!at!7112!
Token!Valley!Road.!!The!first!time!Move!Team!members!visited!the!property!it!felt!
like!the!Lord!might!be!calling!us!to!this!place.!!In!a!subsequent!visit,!along!with!
Spiritual!Move!Team!members,!there!was!a!unanimous!consensus!that!this!was!the!
place.!!In!rapid!succession,!the!Vestry!approved!money!to!pay!for!a!limited!
feasibility!study!to!run!preliminary!engineering!tests!and!for!our!land!attorney!to!
research!the!property!title.!!Various!team!members!then!visited!with!county!staff,!
Supervisor!Marty!Nohe,!and!neighbors!surrounding!the!property.!All!results!came!
back!positive.!!In!March!the!Vestry!approved!signing!a!Letter!of!Intent!to!purchase!
the!property!and!the!seller!accepted.!!In!April!the!Vestry!voted!to!purchase!the!five!
acres!of!the!property!fronting!Hoadly!Road,!and!a!contract!was!prepared!by!the!
churchs!land!attorney!contingent!on!receiving!county!approval!of!the!rezoning!
request!and!Special!Use!Permit!(SUP).!!In!May!the!seller!signed!the!contract!without!
any!changes.!
!
Since!then,!an!extensive!package!of!engineering!environmental!studies,!legal!
documents,!and!applications!has!been!finished!and!were!submitted!to!the!county!on!
October!31.!!The!package!is!currently!working!its!way!through!the!county!staff!
approval!process.!!We!anticipate!final!approval!in!late!spring!at!which!time!we!will!
close!on!the!property!purchase.!!At!the!same!time,!the!team!has!visited!numerous!
churches!to!look!at!facilities!and!talk!to!church!leaders!about!their!experience!with!
architects!and!general!contractors.!!In!December!the!team!interviewed!architects!
and!one!was!selected.!!The!team!will!meet!with!them!in!early!January!to!start!
preliminary!building!design!and!develop!cost!alternatives.!!
!
Know!that!as!the!Vestry!and!various!other!leadership!groups!within!Immanuel!make!
decisions!in!2015!we!will!stay!focused!on!Jesus!Christ,!and!listen!carefully!for!His!
guidance.!!Please!continue!to!pray!that!we!clearly!hear!what!He!is!telling!us!as!we!
move!forward.!

Junior Wardens Report

The!Junior!Warden!is!pleased!to!report!a!year!of!blessings!from!God!as!we!
discovered!our!vision!for!the!future!and!took!practical!steps!toward!most!efficiently!
and!effectively!using!the!facilities!that!He!has!provided!for!us!in!the!short!term.!
!
At!the!beginning!of!the!year,!we!transitioned!to!our!new!temporary!home!at!Beville!
Middle!School.!!The!logistical!process!of!unloading!and!loading!the!trailer!each!
Sunday!has!thus!far!been!executed!successfully!by!four!setkup!teams!which!now!
include!trailer!drivers.!!Weve!tried!to!tweak!and!improve!the!process!throughout!
the!year!in!an!effort!to!work!most!efficiently!with!the!least!amount!of!burden!on!the!
teams.!!All!four!teams!have!done!an!exceptional!job!this!year.!!I!would!be!remiss!if!I!
did!not!mention!Bevilles!Mr.!Bustos!who!has!been!there!faithfully!each!Sunday!and!
has!regularly!assisted!our!teams.!!As!we!move!into!2015!Im!sure!the!next!Junior!
Warden!will!continue!to!look!for!ways!to!improve!this!important!operation.!
!
One!thing!that!was!brought!to!the!Junior!Wardens!attention!early!in!the!year!was!
the!myriad!of!problems!that!the!office!computing!environment!was!experiencing.!!
The!efficient!operation!of!the!church!office!was!being!impeded!daily!due!to!these!
serious!problems;!especially!with!email.!!!
!
A!technical!assessment!of!our!computing!architecture!was!completed!by!a!team!
contracted!by!the!Junior!Warden.!!This!assessment!resulted!in!a!recommendation!
for!a!simpler!architecture!that!would!be!more!secure!and!require!less!maintenance.!!!
The!prior!configuration!was!overly!complicated!and!we!were!without!endktokend!
security!protection.!!All!of!our!emails,!QuickBooks!data!files,!Church!Windows,!and!
desktop!applications!were!hosted!on!a!single!(very!expensive)!server!which!left!us!
with!a!single!point!of!failure.!
!
The!new!solution!moved!most!of!our!computing!needs!to!the!cloud.!!This!simply!
means!that!we!now!pay!for!online!services!as!opposed!to!managing!ourselves.!!
Office!365!now!hosts!our!email!capabilities;!giving!us!control!over!managing!
mailboxes!from!a!central!online!location!and!we!no!longer!have!to!worry!about!
backups,!spam,!viruses,!domain!blacklisting!and!other!issues!that!were!previously!
interrupting!our!email!services.!!Similarly!we!moved!all!of!our!files!to!Google!Drive!
which!is!cloud!storage!capability.!!We!also!created!a!shorter!domain!name!
(iachurch.org)!which!is!much!simpler!for!email!and!web!access!to!Immanuel.!!!!
!
The!old!server!was!replaced!with!a!smaller!less!expensive!one!to!host!QuickBooks!
and!Church!Windows.!!The!server!also!facilitates!multikuser!remote!access!so!that!
multiple!staff!can!access!our!environment!from!remote!locations.!!The!old!server!is!!

being!sold!in!an!effort!to!recoup!some!of!its!cost.!!Lastly,!we!are!presently!migrating!
our!church!records!and!financial!capabilities!to!an!online!service!called!Realm.!!This!
will!ultimately!replace!Church!Windows!which!has!become!unwieldy,!prone!to!
problems,!and!difficult!to!maintain.!!

We!accomplished!many!things!in!Gods!service!together!this!past!year.!Serving!as!

This!year,!the!move!to!Beville!allowed!us!to!expand!our!Childrens!Ministry!in!
exciting!ways:!

Our!nursery!is!larger,!cleaner,!and!more!inviting!to!our!young!members.!
We!have!a!great!team!of!caregivers!who!love!children!and!keep!them!safe!
and!happy!while!their!parents!are!in!worship.!
We!added!a!Sunday!school!hour!at!9:00!and!have!been!studying!the!Jesus!
Storybook!Bible.!Through!this!curriculum,!our!children!are!learning!the!
story!of!the!Bible!!and!hearing!that!Jesus!is!at!the!center!of!it!all!!
During!the!worship!service,!we!have!a!Childrens!chapel!with!a!different!
lesson,!and!often!a!craft!or!activity!to!help!our!kids!deepen!their!faith.!
!
One!of!our!most!important!accomplishments!of!2014!was!drafting!Immanuels!
Child!Safe!policy.!This!document!will!assure!that!Immanuel!has!the!best!
practices!and!training!in!place!to!keep!our!children!safe!while!participating!in!
our!programs.!A!training!session!has!been!scheduled!to!review!this!new!policy!
with!all!of!our!childrens!ministry!volunteers!and!nursery!workers.!Thank!you!to!
Charley!Martin!for!taking!lead!on!this!project,!along!with!the!fine!editorial!
review!from!Mary!Ankers!and!Chloellen!Miller.!

second!study!of!the!fall!was!The(Reason(for(God!by!Timothy!Keller.!!Average!Sunday!
attendance!is!35!people.!!Our!Home!Groups!and!Small!Groups!continued!to!flourish!
in!2014.!

This!group!of!8!k!9!faithful!attendees!uses!the!Serendipity!Bible,!a!study!Bible.!It!
includes!an!introductory!question!that!is!usually!something!of!relevance!to!each!life.!
This!is!followed!by!scripture.!Recently!they!have!been!using!the!previous!day's!
sermon/gospel/readings!as!a!guide!to!the!discussion.!There!is!no!homework!or!
books!to!buykkjust!sharing,!study,!discussion!and!prayer!time!each!week.!!Meetings!
are!usually!at!the!Garon!home!and!occasionally!at!the!home!of!Jean!Ellerbe.!This!is!a!
very!closekknit!group!with!much!sharing!spiritually!and!personally.!!In!addition!to!
studying!the!Word,!it!also!offers!an!excellent!support!group!for!all!of!the!women!as!
they!share!their!lives!and!faith.!!They!anticipate!adding!new!members!in!2015.!

The!Tues.!AM!Bible!Study!is!a!multidenominational,!multigenerational!womens!
Bible!Study!that!meets!in!the!lower!level!multikpurpose!room!at!All!Saints!Anglican!
Church.!Currently!there!are!35!active!members!with!an!average!weekly!attendance!
of!25.!!In!2014,!11!new!members!were!added.!!Free!childcare!is!available!in!the!
church!nursery.!!The!meetings!begin!with!prayer,!shared!stories!of!how!God!is!at!
work!in!our!lives,!a!DVD!presentation!and!small!group!discussion,!and!close!with!
prayer.!The!2nd!week!of!each!month!involves!a!shared!birthday!brunch!to!celebrate!
members!who!have!birthdays!during!that!month.!We!pray!with!our!members!
during!Bible!Study,!and!for!them!throughout!the!week.!

In!2014!these!DVD/small!group!discussion!series!were!completed:(Gideon;(Jesus(the(
One(and(Only;(Hebrews:!The(Nearness(of(King(Jesus;!and!1(and(2(Thessalonians.!!
Summer!included!4!guest!speakersArchbishop!Ben!Kwashi!(by!video),!Bishop!
Julian!Dobbs,!The!Rev.!Valarie!Whitcomb,!and!Jean!Albertkkwho!came!to!share!their!
knowledge!of,!experiences!with,!and!witness!to!Muslims.!!In!August,!the!group!
cruised!on!the!Occoquan!River!to!enjoy!the!beauty!of!Gods!creation,!learn!more!
about!the!history!of!this!river,!and!enjoy!fellowship!during!our!picnic!in!the!park!
after!the!cruise.!!!

2014!service!projects!include!collecting!food!for!Backpack!Snack!Attack,!one!
members!church!sponsored!program!to!fill!backpacks!with!food!for!needy!students!
and!their!families!to!eat!over!the!weekend!when!school!breakfasts!and!lunches!are!
not!available.!A!member!collected!eyeglasses!for!the!Lions!Club!to!distribute!to!
needy!recipients.!!Another!member!volunteers!at!ACTS!and!delivered!the!food!we!
collected!for!the!ACTS!food!Pantry.!In!December,!the!group!hosted!a!Christmas!party!
including!tree!decorating!for!the!5th!floor!residents!at!Lake!Ridge!Fellowship!House!
in!addition!to!assembling!45!shoeboxes!with!items!for!the!homeless!men!and!
women!living!in!the!woods.!!!

The!first!study!for!2015!will!be!about!David:!Anointed,(Transformed,(Redeemed(
which!begins!January!6.!!This!group!warmly!welcomes!new!members!at!any!step!on!
their!faith!journey.!!

the(King!a!10!week!study.by!Tim!Keller!and!John(for(Everyone!Chapters!1k10!of!the!
Gospel!of!John!by!N.T.!Wright.!!Average!attendance!is!10,!with!3!new!members!
added!in!2014.!!At!Christmas!they!shared!the!joy!of!the!season!by!providing!gifts!for!
a!Beville!Middle!School!family!!including!coats,!pants,!dresses,!tops,!boots,!plus!
additional!gifts!they!just!!couldn't!resist!giving!.!!Their!plans!for!2015!are:!

This!group!meets!Saturdays!at!7:30!am!in!the!lower!level!multikpurpose!room!at!All!
Saints!Anglican!Church.!!The!group!numbers!15k25!guys!who!enjoy!spirited!!
discussion!on!everything!having!to!do!with!Gods!Word.!!They!enjoyed!N.T.!Wrights!
Early(Christian(Letters!(James,!Peter,!John!&!Judah)!and!are!currently!digging!into!
the!Gospel!of!John!using!a!commentary!by!Farley.!!The!men!support!the!homeless!
ministry!through!provision!for!food,!gas,!water!and!clothing!to!the!camp!residents!
and!hauling!away!discarded!trash!to!keep!the!camp!safe.!!We!also!treated!the!
residents!to!two!restaurant!trips.!!Finally,!the!men!provide!financial!support!for!
education!and!health!programs!in!La!Paz,!Bolivia.!!This!group!continues!to!be!
blessed!by!growing!in!their!relationships!with!Jesus!and!with!each!other.!!We!
sincerely!invite!all!of!the!men!to!join!our!discussion!group!and!assure!you!that!
absolutely!no!Biblical!literacy!is!required;!goodknatured!discussion!and!learning!is!
what!we!are!here!for.!

The!Fellowship!Team!supports!the!Vision!by!providing!the!opportunity!for!the!
family!of!Immanuel!to!come!together!as!brothers!and!sisters!in!Christ!to!strengthen!
the!bonds!of!love!and!support!through!fellowship!activities.!!
We!provide!refreshments!for!every!Sunday!service!throughout!the!year.!We!also!
plan!special!receptions!to!celebrate!or!support!special!events.!

visit!to!the!ballpark!to!see!the!PNATs!play!baseball.!Two!evening!fellowship!events!
were!held!in!homes.!In!addition,!a!social!event!was!held!at!Wegmans!following!the!
Christmas!concert!given!by!the!Woodbridge!Community!Choir!in!which!a!number!of!
our!own!choir!members!participated.!We!also!supported!the!Childrens!Pageant!by!
providing!lunch!after!every!practice.!

We!are!also!presently!planning!a!womens!retreat!in!April!2015!as!well!as!other!
social/fellowship!activities.!!
Our!present!location!has!presented!us!with!special!challenges!since!we!do!not!have!
a!kitchen!available!to!us!to!support!on!site!meals.!This!problem!will!be!addressed!
and!hopefully!solved!in!2015.!

Healing(Ministry(Report(

Immanuel!has!had!a!long!and!distinguished!history!in!the!area!of!healing!
prayer.!!Weekly,!teams!of!trained!prayer!ministers!meet!with!members!and!visitors!
following!communion!for!intercessory!prayer.!!This!year!we!began!to!periodically!
offer!male!and!female!pairs!to!assist!those!who!would!be!uncomfortable!sharing!
their!need!to!mixed!genders.!
!!
Our!team!(made!up!of!anyone!expressing!an!interest!in!healing)!has!met!frequently!
throughout!the!year!on!Sundays!after!church!in!a!parishioners!home!to!pray!and!
study!Canon!Jim!Glennons!book!Your!Healing!is!Within!You.!!What!is!noteworthy!
about!Glennons!approach!to!healing!is!that!according!to!Scripture!Jesus!followed!no!
set!formula!but!whose!healing!ministry!was!always!characterized!by!compassion!
and!love.!

The!team!is!considering!holding!a!midkweek!healing!service.!!Unfortunately,!without!
a!building!the!challenge!is!location.!!If!you!live!in!a!development!that!has!a!
community!center,!please!contact!Fr.!Mark.!!We!would!like!to!explore!the!cost!and!
availability!of!such!facility(s)!in!order!to!host!a!service!in!your!neighborhood!for!

Mission(Team(
Free(Clinic:!The!clinic!operates!at!the!St.!Margarets!location!on!Church!Hill!Drive.!!
Immanuel!continued!to!support!the!clinic!to!help!ensure!this!ministry!we!started!to!
reach!the!poor!in!need!of!medical!care!continues!to!be!able!to!meet!that!need.!We!
provided!gift!prescription!cards!and!gift!food!cards!for!patients.!In!addition!we!
brought!to!the!clinic!on!a!weeklykbasis!donated!baked!goods!from!the!farmers!
market.!We!also!collected!food!for!Easter!Meals!which!we!delivered!to!twentyktwo!
families!using!the!clinic.!
Bolivia(Mission:!!While!we!did!not!send!a!mission!team!to!Bolivia!this!past!year,!we!
continued!our!financial!support!for!La!Santa!Cruz!church!in!Tarija!and!for!Fr.!
Walters!Barrientos!former!church,!Cristo!El!Redentor!in!La!Paz.!In!addition,!
Immanuel!is!supporting!the!efforts!of!our!diocese,!DOMA,!to!bring!Fr.!Walter!to!the!
northern!Virginia!area!to!work!with!the!Dioceses!churchkplanting!program.!It!is!our!
prayer!that!Fr.!Walter!can!begin!that!work!early!in!2015.!!
Homeless(Camp(Ministry:!This!program!reaches!out!to!those!at!a!homeless!
campsite!here!in!Woodbridge.!Teams!from!the!Saturday!Mens!Bible!Study!Group!
brought!produce,!donated!by!the!farmers!market,!chickens,!water,!ice,!and!gas!to!
those!at!the!camp.!We!have!prayed!with!these!men!(there!are!several!women!too),!
and!in!November,!the!Mens!Group!took!them!to!a!holiday!luncheon.!We!have!also!
provided!tents,!tarps,!blankets,!clothes,!and!transportation!so!they!may!get!food!and!
propane!vouchers!at!ACTS.!In!addition,!we!delivered!shoeboxes!filled!with!gifts!for!
men!and!women!at!Christmas.!!We!are!blessed!that!some!from!the!camp!join!us!at!
our!worship!service!on!Sunday.!As!the!year!ended,!we!were!blessed!to!be!able!to!
help!one!such!individual!move!from!the!woods!into!transitional!housing.!
Operation(Turkey:!We!provided!food!and!cash!donations!to!ACTS!to!help!needy!
individuals!enjoy!a!family!Thanksgiving!dinner.!The!youth!group!helped!sort!food!at!
the!ACTS!facility.!
Operation(Christmas(Child:!We!also!supported!this!program!and!provided!
shoeboxes!filled!with!toys!and!other!items!to!children!in!developing!countries.!

the!Christian!Cooperative!Council!of!Ministries!(CCOM),!which!provides!assistance!
to!area!homeless,!the!Diocese!of!the!MidBAtlantic,!and!the!Trinity!Seminary.!We(

Another!great!year!for!the!Worship!Team!is!in!the!books!!!The!Altar!Guild!did!a!great!
job!every!week!creating!a!worship!space!in!our!new!home!at!Beville!Middle!School.!!
Special!thanks!go!to!Kathy!Westcott,!Altar!Guild!Director,!who!not!only!faithfully!led!
her!team!each!week,!but!also!shared!her!artistic!talents!by!making!new!banners!that!
have!been!displayed!during!our!church!services.!Thank!you!to!all!those!who!donated!
wood!service!items!to!use!on!the!altar!so!the!brass!items!could!be!protected!and!
stored!during!our!stay!in!this!temporary!home.!!!
!
The!setkup!teams!showed!their!flexibility!during!this!year.!!While!setting!up!seating!
is!no!longer!necessary,!transporting,!unloading!and!rekpacking!the!trailer!with!the!
service!supplies!each!week!is!a!new!duty.!!The!teams!rose!to!the!challenge!and!each!
Sundays!service!is!a!testimony!to!their!faith.!!

The!Acolyte!team!has!grown!as!new!children!are!trained!and!seasoned!acolytes!have!
learned!new!responsibilities.!!Thank!you!to!Karen!Zwanzig!for!her!continued!
