Colloids:The development of synthetic strategies to fabricate colloidal particles with desired shape & size, their stabilization
/dispersion and multidirectional assembly/patterning at larger length scale ranging from nm to m to mm modelling of colloids
usingDEMmethod.

Environmental Materials: Exploration of architectural chemistry for surface modification of mesoporous oxides and
perovskiteswithnanometal/oxidesforadsorptionanddecompositionofgaseouspollutants.Tuningofbandgapenergyofd0and
d10elementsforeffectiveutilizationinphotocatalysisundersolarlightfordecompositionofwateranddegradationofpollutants.

Catalysis:Fabricationofcatalyticmaterialsforthedecompositionoforganic&inorganiccontaminants,lowtemperatureCOand
VOCoxidation,adsorbentsandsolidacidcatalystsapplications.

Coatings:Developmentofconductingcoatingsbasedonalumina,prostheticcoatingonmetalimplantsandrareearthpigment
basedsurfacecoatings.

Nanomaterials: Exploring various synthetic approaches based on electrophoretic deposition, langmuir blodgett and soft
chemistry (with or without template) to fabricate ordered arrays of perovskite, photocatalyst and semiconducting hierarchical
nanostructuresandtheirpossibleapplicationsincatalysis,optoelectronicdevicesetc.

Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: Efforts being put to fabricate high performance intermediate temperature SOFC and honeycomb
SOFC.

Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting: To enhance the hydrogen(an energy carrier) production, the fabrication of an
efficientphotosensitivesemiconductorandoptimizationofotherPECcellparametersisbeingundertaken.

Supramolecular Photochemistry: Molecular photonics and chemical logics, molecular recognition exploiting the
supramolecularhostguestinteraction.
