DAILY NUGGETS FOR JOYFUL LIVING

Monday, January 26, 2015
Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not
chosen these. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the
youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit
down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in... 1 Samuel 16:1-13 KJV
WHAT IS YOURS CAN NEVER BE TAKEN FROM YOU
Gods promises are often made to an individual or a group of people or a nation, and sometimes His promises
are made for the generality of the human race such that whoever meets the condition for the fulfillment of the
promises will enter into them. However, when God makes a specific promise with your name on it, nothing whatsoever
will debar you from entering into that promise except you yourself. Gods specific promise to an individual, most of
the time, is always executed to the person the promise is meant for and no one else. The world may criticize why it
is you that is always favored, and that should not bother you anyway. Should the Lord chose you to receive His
blessings; nothing can stop you from receiving them. I believe that God has made you the fulfillment of His dream on
earth. That was why Isaiah predicted in Isaiah 43:1 saying, But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O
Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name;
thou art mine. If you are His, then you must always remember that He shields and protects his own. That is why
God started by saying, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee What that means is that your honor and worth have
been restored. The power of sin over your life has been broken by that very redemption from the Lord your God.
When Satan begins to celebrate his victory over your head, thinking that he has caught you in his net, all that God
wants you to say to him is: Not so fast, Satan, for God Himself has redeemed me. And so God encourages us by
saying, Fear not. Now, tell me why you are afraid and I will tell you why you shouldnt. God has made you a part of
His very own body and as such, he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye as is written in Zechariah 2:8.
Let me tell you a truth very profound: Whatever you read from the Bible and appropriate it to be yours, God
validates it and makes it yours. Now lets see how Isaiah 41:10 presents the mind of God towards you: Fear thou
not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will
uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Are you there? Did you read that? Are you still afraid? What
else do you need in life? Dont you know that safety is not the absence of danger but the presence of God? I think
that you should celebrate your relationship with the Father because you are completely settled. Concerning your
life, no stone is left unturned, you are covered inside out.
I like the character of David. He was so engrossed in the worship of God that he did not even know what was
going on in his fathers house. For the prophet of God to send a message to Jesse to prepare for a sacrifice to the
Lord and yet David did not know of it is something I always ponder on. It was not a common practice for the prophet
of God to come out in public as in the case here: for the elders of the town trembled at his coming and do you
know that David was not in the picture here. What this tells me is that whenever your focus is on God and you are
busy in His service, your promised blessings will never be given to another. Though you appear insignificant before
man, it will not be so with God. The church might even forget your labor of love towards the brethren, but that

should not matter to you if you know your purpose. You must understand that even prophets make mistakes because
they sometimes depend on peoples feedbacks. It happened to Samuel and he almost made a mistake if the Lord was
not there at the purposed sacrifice. In verses 6-7 of our text, a drama is presented with the Almighty also as a
cast: And it came to pass, when they were come, that he (i.e. Samuel) looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD'S
anointed is before Him. But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his
stature; because I have refused him It does not matter the mistake of man in giving your position to another on
the disguise that you are not qualified; even if it is a calculated plot to unseat you from your excellent position in
order to cause you sorrow and pain; or let them even call you a child if they chose to and treat you as one by not
bringing you into the scene of specific divine events initiated by Heaven, one thing I know, God will surely step in to
alter every plan of man so that your inheritance, which you have received in Christ Jesus, will be given to you no
matter the cost. You dont even need to be afraid when the plot is made to sidetrack you, for God, who is ever a
silent listener to every conversation will redeem and restore you to your blessed inheritance. Only be thou faithful
unto the end!
Does it surprise you that Jesse brought all his sons, except David, to the sacrifice with the prophet, and yet
none of these beloved sons of the father was chosen? Beloved, dont fight for your right because He that is the
perfect ultimate has your back covered. God will surely defend you; this, I am sure. I am not afraid anymore of
being cheated by man; for if the blessing is mine, if the honor is mine, if the glory is mine, God is there to make sure
I am adorned with these accolades of beauty and nobility that are mine. Therefore, beloved, fear thou not! In
Romans 8:33, Paul said, It is God that justifieth. He did it for David, and in verse 11, Samuel said unto Jesse,
Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. What an honor to David! Those who were to take
your position will witness your enthronement. Again, He did it for Joseph and made him Lord over Egypt for Genesis
41:44 records, And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot
in all the land of Egypt. He did it for Mordecai the Jew, for Herman had to walk with Mordecai riding upon the
horse decorated with all authority from the King. Esther 6:10 reports a prescription from Herman which the king
acted upon, not to Herman but to Mordecai: Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the
horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all
that thou hast spoken. If God did these things for these people, He will surely do it again, and this time, He will do
it for you because when something is yours, it is yours indeed. Hold onto this truth beloved, and your heart will be
flooded with Joyful Living experience. Indeed, what is yours, is yours. Amen?
