PREFACE

As a partial fulfillment of the BBS programme of Tribhuvan University, Faculty of Management, I

was required to prepare a field report in a financial institution in Nepal.

I had an opportunity to carry out my field activities with Bank of Kathmandu, a very dynamic and
aggressive commercial bank of Nepal.
The subject of my field report was to analyze the functioning of Remittance and Operation
Department of Bank of Kathmandu.
The main purpose of the field activities was to acquaint me with the practical business world where I
could apply my theoretical concepts to real life. It also provided me an opportunity to integrate and
apply theory with management practices. The study had given me a chance to know about the
banking industry and also its potential strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. During the
field activities I got an opportunity to learn as well as develop my managerial skills.
