Enabling auto start of TEMS Discovery

1. Introduction
TEMS Discovery is a Windows desktop application which requires a logged on
Windows system in order to start. TEMS Discovery contains an application monitor
which can restart TEMS Discovery if the TEMS Discovery application terminates
abnormally. But it cant start if Windows machine is rebooted or restarted.
Windows can be configured to start TEMS Discovery automatically during
unexpected restart of the machine. The followings sections explained how to do
that.

2. Turn on Windows Automatic logon

Open control panel Start ->Control Panel

Click on User Accounts

Click on Manage User Accounts

Uncheck User must enter a user name and password to use this computer
check box .

Click Apply

Enter user name & password and click OK.

Close all open windows by clicking on OK

3. Add TEMS Discovery as Startup program

i)

Open the registry editor Click Start and type regedit in the search
window. Click Enter to start the registry editor. Click Yes is User Access
Control window shows up.

Go to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Run

Create a new entry of String Value type. Name it TDE and provide
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ascom\TEMS Products\TEMS
Discovery\Discovery.exe as data.

Close the registry and restart the machine.
