The reproductive cycle

Female anatomy is very complex and for solving that complexity Obstetrics and Gynecologist is
for. They help in nearly all changes of women life when she starts to mature until the
reproduction cycle remains active. The blog is there to help those ladies who need general
information regarding the complexity to know how a little bit detail so they know what is
actually happening to them. For medication consult youre Obstetrics & Gynecologist who are
specialized in this field and they can help you in a better way.
The reproductive cycle
The female reproductive cycle starts from producing an ovum and preparing the uterus a
fertilized one in order to begin pregnancy. If an unfertilized ovum is produced it is reset through
the menstruation cycle. The reproductive cycle is different from women to women but the
average cycle takes 28 days.
Oogenesis & ovulation
Under the presence of hormones FSH and LH, the ovaries produce a mature ovum which is
known as ovulation. After 14 days ovaries begins to mature oocytes but only one is released per
cycle.
Fertilization
When the mature ovum is released it is grabbed by the fimbriae, from where it is passed to the
fallopian tube and then to the uterus and this whole process takes about one week. If the sperms
are able to reach and pierce through ovum that ovum then became fertilized one and that is

known as zygote. After germinal period that took 2 weeks, a period of rapid cell division; the
zygote is formed as an embryo. That embryo is then implanted to the uterine from where
pregnancy starts to develop.
Menstruation
As ovum matures and is passed through the fallopian tube, the endometrium cultivates and
expands for the preparation of embryo. If the ovum is not a fertilized one eventually or if it fails
to be implanted into the endometrium, the uterus arteries restrict to incise the flow of blood
through that, due to the lacking of blood in the endometrium then starts to begin the shedding of
tissues that is known as menstruation.
Normal menstruation cycle begins in 28 days and it last for 7 days normally the days can be
fewer or large depending upon the condition of women reproductive cycle. Same is the case for
menstruation cycle where days are dependent because women anatomy is complex some women
face serious problem through that and thats why special field for obstetric & Gynecology has
been developed for them.
Pregnancy
The embryo that becomes fertilized when ovum is fertilized by the sperms, that embryo is
transferred to endometrium to form an amniotic activity, umbilical cord and placenta. For the
starting 8 weeks, the embryo will grow all the tissues and organs that are present in the adult
before it will enter the fetal period of development in between 9 to 38 weeks. Throughout that
period the fetus grows and becomes more complex unless and until to be get born.
Lactation
For feeding the baby the milk is released and that production is known as lactation. This milk is
very important for your baby and it is full of nutrition that is necessary to keep the new one
healthy. Prolactin is formed when the baby starts to suck the nipple. The milk is produced for as
long as the breastfeeding occur. For let loosing milk oxytocin is also produced that make possible
to release the milk only when the baby is feeding.
