Lenten Bible Study

Renegade GospelRebel Jesus
Central to the Christian faith is a man who denies all our preconceived notions about what God should look like. Joining his
movement will mean coming to terms with the real Jesus, the
rebel Jesus.
Jesus didnt come to start a religion. The rebel Jesus came with a
renegade gospel to start a revolution. You and I are invited to be
a part.
In Renegade Gospel, pastor and author Mike Slaughter presents
Jesus and his challenging message to inspire us during Lent, Easter and through the year. Read the red letters and discover Jesus
all over again.

Mission Project
We will be raising funds to purchase PETS
Personal Energy Transportation during the
month of March.

Needed Communion Stewards!

If you like to serve, then this is a perfect way
to do so! We generally have communion the
first Sunday of the month. We ask communion stewards to be here by 8:30am to help
prepare the elements (bread & juice). Sign-up
once for the year, or every month, whatever
pleases you! You can sign-up either on the
sheet in the fellowship hall or by letting the
office know, or message us on
Facebook!

February, 2015 - Volume 2

Love!
Since February includes Valentines Day
our minds turn to love. We know that we are to
Love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your strength
(Deuteronomy 6:5).
In the New Testament, Jesus answers the question of what is the most important commandment of all by saying The most important one is this...Love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these
(Mark 12:29-31).
How often do we show love for God, and love for others in our daily lives? Do we
share words of encouragement with one another, or do we criticize in order to tear down? Do
we show compassion, or are we cold, standoffish, and/or judgmental? Do we speak words of
love and truth, or do we spread rumors? Each day is filled with opportunities to either show
and share love with one another, or not.
Love can do so much if we put it into action, if we live it out in our lives. Earlier this
week one of my colleagues shared on their Facebook page a quote by Martin Luther King, Jr.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only
love can do that.
How will you choose to love others this month and beyond?
~Pastor Cory

If you are aware of someone in need of a

pastoral call, please inform Pastor Cory at
the office, 957-4960 or her cell
404-788-4997. She would rather hear from
multiple sources than from no one at all. In
these times of privacy rights, hospitals and
nursing homes may not divulge information
relating to a resident or patient, so it is very
important that members and/or their
families let the Pastor know of all needs for
pastoral care.
