5-6 June, 2014: Bucharest Management Meeting and Working Groups discussed
the project indicators and out-puts and financial plan till March 2015. Responsibles for
reporting in project activities were established. Representatives from the Management
Authority and from the Ministry of Large Infrastructure Projects participated in the
meeting.

Training was organized, the main monitoring equipment for discharge measurements were
presented to the National Administration Apele Romane hydrologists and water
managers, involved in water monitoring activities with the new delivered equipment.

28 August, 2014 Management Meeting organized by


the Ministry of Regional Development and
Administration different management aspects were
discussed, reaching the financial targets for 2014
(Addendum 3 was planned); presentation of the stage
of project of the project implementation was presented.
Further recommendations were made by the Ministrys
high level representatives, by AM and JTS. An action
plan was established.

September, 2014 Voina Meeting with reposnibles for flood protection at the counties
level water management (SGA), of Department for Waters, Forests and Fisheries, of the
National Administration Apele Romane and of the National Institute of Hydrology and
Water Management roles and duties of the of local water management systems and of
the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management were discussed, to improve
prevention actions.

22-24 September 2014, Deggendorf, Germany, XXVI Conference of the Danubien


Countries on hydrological forecasting and hydrological bases of water
management Danube WATER Project perspectives were presented, both for
monitoring modernization and for forecasting improvement (INHGA and INMH
representatives participate in the international event).

24-25 September, 2014, Warsaw, Poland, World Meteorological Organization


organized the Climatic and Hydrologic Forum, hosted by the National Institute of
Meteorology and Hydrology. Romanian representative (Dr. Mary-Jeanne Adler) presented
the trans-border Danube River needs for monitoring harmonization for flood risk
management, as conclusions of the Danube WATER project implementation and
harmonization monitoring Guide prepared with support of the Hydrological Services of
Bulgaria and Romania for Low Danube water management.
1st October, 2014 Russe Meeting, host by PP11 EAMDR, organized by LP together with
the project consultant for Integrated IT system design for environmental protection,
discussing the Operational Portal and the data base will support data communication and
dissemination in real time at the local level.
2nd October, 2014 Common Measurements - Russe and Giurgiu counties groundwater
wells were investigated, by the two teams (PP10-INMH and PP3-INHGA), to harmonize
the monitoring methodology and data processing for groundwater regionalization in the
Danube Floodplain, under the Activity 4 implementation.
08-09 October, 2014, Pleven Working Group Meeting in Low Flows and Droughts, to
finalize the Guidelines. The meeting was openned by the director of DRBD,
representative of MoEW, which took on board project implementation for PP9. The
experts of PP10-INMH and PP3-INHGA had a joint development of the Guidelines. Dr.
Mary-Jeanne Adler conducted the analysis, presenting the experience of INHGA for
drought forecasting and parameterization and representing the Lead Partner for the
decision making process at for drought risk manageemnt. A press communicate was
prepared during Pleven meting by DRBD and a Romanian information was posted on the
DAPP site in Romania.
14-15 October, 2014 Common monitoring session with Sarmisegetuza ship, the new
acquisition in the Danube WATER Project the harmonized methodology in data
collection and processing was planned and implemented during this mission. PP2-ANAR,
PP3-INHGA and PP11-EAMDR participated in the action, for Activity 4 implementation.

31st October, 2014, Bucharest, Annual Conference of PP6-ICCHIM, Activity 12


Workshop for Elaboration of a new technology for wastewater processing and
conditioning the liquid organic wastes radioactively contaminated from the nuclear power
plants and radioactivity use in general, will take place in the Institute Conference Hall.
We invite all intested parties to participate in the event. Diferent representatioves of LP,
PP3, PP6, PP7, PP8 and PP13 already registered in the workshop.

NEWS:
10-11 November, 2014, Bucharest, Annual Conference of PP3-INHGA, where the midterm Danube WATER event is planned, for the 11th afternoon. All partners are invited in
this meeting with Romanian stakeholders for project presentation. Abstracts were
collected and the Conference volume will be printed. The full papers also will be printed
in three month after the Conference.
17-19 November, 2014, is planned the Pleven Working Group Meeting in WFD
implementation preparing the final reports for Activities 1, 2, 4 and 5.
26-29 January, 2015, is planned Sofia Management Meeting for Audit reporting
preparation and for last activities implementation. All partners are invited.
26-27 March, 2015, Bucharest/Giurgiu is planned the final project Conference. A
conference press will be also organized, for the high level representatives and
stakeholders. JTS and Am representatives will be invited and also the local administration
representatives.
