Dear Ms Jameson
Re: Secondary School Teacher, Darwin State High School
I wish to apply for the position of secondary school English teacher advertised recently on seek.com.au.
I have a Bachelor of Education (secondary) from the University of Darwin and have spent the last year in a temporary position teaching
English and History at Carndale High School.
A positive and motivated teacher, I am committed to providing students with a dynamic and interesting learning environment in which they
can grow and develop. I am familiar with the Northern Territory secondary school curriculum and I thrive on keeping on top of the latest
resources and developments within the teaching industry. I seek to encourage students to enjoy extra-curricular activities and study groups,
which I believe instils them with a self-directed lifelong learning. While teaching at Carndale High School I played an essential role in
developing and conducting research study groups for senior students. I am also qualified as a History teacher, which allows for flexibility
across a range of subjects.
My knowledge, skills and experience make me the perfect person for this position. I would be an asset to your school and would love the
opportunity to assist in the development and progression of your students learning.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my application. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing my suitability for this role within
your school.
Yours sincerely

Sir/Madam,
I am interested in applying for a teaching position, on secondary level, in your school
district. As a 2012 graduate of Catanduanes State University, I have student teaching
experience on the first and second year level.
After Ive graduated I also teach at risk preschool children. This position enables me to
provide these students with a head start in mastering basic skills. I am challenged to
be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient.
Teaching is so much about understanding the needs of students and devising teaching methods that will help raise their
interest in the subject being taught and facilitate learning. To make learning fun and easy, I created a WebQuest, an
effective inquiry-oriented lesson, in PowerPoint for my social studies students. The document, which was a huge success,
focused on teaching the students about animals found in pre-historic era.
I also have had experience of working with three students with severe cognitive handicaps. To meet the needs of these
children, I used co-generated pictures and American Sign Language for communication.
In my current position, I have showcased excellent multi-tasking, prioritization, project coordination, and time
management skills. Along with my teaching skills, I bring positive and creative energy to the table and a strong desire and
an unflinching commitment to work with other like-minded teachers for the betterment of students.
My enclosed resume lists my qualifications, work experience, achievements, and skill sets in detail. I sincerely hope that
you would grant me the privilege of meeting you to discuss my application in a personal interview.
I believe in theres nothing a child cant do. This is exactly how I feel about teaching. This is also the motivation for me to
pursue a Master Degree of Childhood Education in General Education and Special Education. I am two courses away in
attaining my second Master Degree in Instructional Technology at NYIT. I strongly believe in unlocking the potential in
every child. I am interested in working with you.
Last year, I was a 4th grade classroom teacher. For the past school year being a member at PS 128M, I have learned a lot
as a classroom teacher and as an educator. I feel more confident at teaching all subject areas, especially in Literacy,
instead of just in Math. I feel great learning from my principal, colleagues, and my students every day. I also get to dance
with my students during Ballroom Dancing classes. I feel the relationship I have built with my students have gotten
stronger and stronger each day.
Prior to this, I taught a 5th grade General Education classroom teacher collaboratively teaching with the Special Education
teacher at PS24 in Manhattan for six months. I came to this class in January 2011 because of my previous status as an
ATR excessed teacher. The principal at PS 38 hired me to fill in the vacancy.
As a private tutor/instructor at ANIBIC (Association for Neurological Brain Injured Children) in Bayside, Queens, my
responsibilities include helping and guiding my students in all academic areas, such as reading, writing, and math; but also
in social skills and daily life skills as well. Currently, I have six students two 9-year old girls, a 17-year-old young man, a
22-year-old young lady, a 23-year-old young man, and a 38-year old adult.
I am also an after school enrichment teacher at SmartBrain America two days a week. I teach K-5th graders Reading,
Writing, and Math. I also help my students in enriching their practices of the ELA and Math state exams. During the
summer camp, I taught Arts & Crafts and Science experiments to our campers in the months of summer 2010. Prior to
this, I have been working in various educational programs since 2002.
Enclosed is my resume which further outlines my qualifications. My qualifications and my educational value towards
teaching make me well suited to the position. I would appreciate an interview opportunity to discuss a potential position
with you further.
A resume, highlighting the range of my ability, knowledge and experience is attached. While it has been some years since
my days in the classroom, you will see that my commitment to educating and training others has been remained an
integral component of my work in other career areas. With the majority of my roles involving the training, mentoring and
evaluation of others.
I am enthusiastic about the potential offered by the position and how my attention to detail and transferable career skillset may benefit the school, students and colleagues while providing me with an opportunity for renewed professional
challenge and growth.
I would appreciate more information about the position, including the number of classes and hours available.
Thank you in advance for your time. I would appreciate the opportunity to review my qualifications and experience, in
person and look forward to discussing how we may be a good match for each other.
