MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM

AUDIO/VISUAL SYSTEM
CONTROLS

The Multi-Purpose room has controls in multiple locations.

Floor Level. This control has the main projector power, basic volume controls, and video selectors
Computer Control. This virtual control panel mimics the floor control plus one minor selection to allow
control of the system from the booth.
A/V Rack. The control knobs in the rack give fine control over the balance between multiple microphones
and the program inputs (DVD, Laptop, CD).

CABLES

Faith Church provides one cable for connecting a computer to the projection system. This cable is primarily
used for video, but may also be used for audio. The cable is located in a drawer in the rack in the A/V booth.
COMPUTER PROJECTION FROM THE FLOOR (B.Y.O.P.C.)

1. Turn on the projector by pressing the PROJECTOR POWER button on the floor control panel. Wait 10
seconds or until you can see light coming from the projector lens.
2. Press the SCREEN UP/DOWN button to lower the screen to match the projector image.
3. Press the COMPUTER SELECT button so the red light is illuminated on that button.
4. Connect the video cable to the computer and the input plate shown to the right using the cable
provided.
5. Turn on the computer. You may need to enable the video output on your computer after it starts.
Note: The recommended setting for your computers video output is 1024x768 with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
6. If you do not see an image on the screen, use the COMPUTER SELECT button to set the projector to the
correct mode by turning off the red light and back on again. If you still do not see an image, be sure
your computers monitor output is enabled.
a. Press the VIDEO MUTE button to blank out the projector image without powering it off. Press
it again to un-mute the video display.
7. When you are done simply press the PROJECTOR POWER and SCREEN UP/DOWN buttons to power off
the projector and raise the screen.

Turn on the projector by pressing the PROJECTOR POWER button on the floor control panel.
Press the SCREEN UP/DOWN button to lower the screen to match the projector image.
Press the VIDEO SELECT button at least twice so the red light is NOT illuminated on that button.
Load the DVD video in the booth. Use the control knobs in the rack to adjust the volume.

RECORDING ON CD

1. Select the CD volume on the right volume control panel and turn it all the way down. Failure to do this
will result in an echo or feedback during recording.
2. Insert a blank CD into recorder drive. Wait till you see NO TOC on the display.
3. Press the REC button to arm the drive for recording and to monitor the input level.
4. Adjust the record level so the meter is as high as it can go without touching the red segment during a
typical input to the system.
a. A flash of the red segment every now and then is okay.
b. If the red segment of the meter illuminates constantly, turn the record level down.
5. Press the PLAY button to begin recording.
a. Press the REC button during recording to manually start a new track number if needed.
6. Press the STOP button to terminate recording.
7. Press the FINALIZE button followed by depressing the JOG knob to finalize the CD.
Note: Step 4 can be performed in monitor mode or during recording if adjustments need to be made.
