Specialist knowledge required.

Important information

(Only for use within the BMW dealer organisation).

Installation time approx. 3 hours.
The installation time may vary depending on the condition of the car and the equipment in it.

All servicing, repair, installation and adjustment work on cars is completed at your own risk.
All work is to be completed using the latest BMW
- Repair instructions,
- Circuit diagrams,
- Service manuals,
- Work instructions,
- Diagnostics manuals
in a rational sequence using the prescribed tools (special tools) and pursuant to the relevant health and safety
regulations.

Safety notes
Please read the following before starting the installation work:
If the specified PIN slots are already in use, bridges, double crimps or parallel end stops are to be used. All work is
shown for a left-hand drive model. On right-hand drive models the work must be completed the opposite way
round.
The installation kit does not contain any colour-dependent parts.

All wiring harnesses are to be laid such that they cannot be crushed or damaged and that they do not
obstruct the freedom of movement of other car components.

This system is not coding-relevant.

Installation

Notes
Refer to the safety instructions in section 1.
The accessory installation work is based on the general workshop information. Any work which differs from this is
described in detail in this section.
Preparatory work
Print out the error memory.
Remove the seats.
Disconnect the battery.
Install the seat cover for the backrest and seat cushion with heating elements.
Remove the trim below the glovebox.
Remove the cover strip and heating control.
Remove the door sill strips on both sides.
Remove the centre console trim in the footwell on both sides.
Remove the footwell trim below the instrument panel on both sides.
Remove the A pillar trim in the footwell on both sides.
