TRANSCRIPTS

Seniors: If you are needing transcripts mailed to colleges, please fill out a yellow
TRANSCRIPT REQUEST card; they can be found outside Ms. Romeros office door in the
student office. Please indicate which college you would like me to mail them to and whether
it needs to go to admissions or financial aid office. There is a 24 48 hour turnaround time
on mailing out transcripts.

DRESSCODE
VIOLATIONS

Please be respectful of the Selma High School Rules. All collegiate and professional sport
attire is not allowed to be worn, that also includes Fresno State. The dress code is strictly
enforced and if dress code is violated Saturday school will be given to the student.

POWDER PUFF

Attention Ladies: If you are interested in playing Powder Puff this year, your $25 for the
jersey is due to Gina Gonzalez in the finance office before March 27th. If you would like to
fundraise for the jersey, please see Ms. DeCanio in room 1005. The last day to order is
March 27th. Numbers are on a 1st come, 1st serve basis.

ACADEMIC
DECATHLON

Good luck to our Academic Decathlon Team as it competes this Saturday at Central East
High School. Almost 30 county high schools will be trying to earn medals and awards in
math, science, economics, social science, literature, art, and music. The Super Quiz, the
highly energized and game show-like contest, will start at 3:30 in the Central East gym, and
you are all invited to come cheer on our Decathletes.

BIBLE CLUB/
Rising Generation will be meeting TODAY in room 2310 at 12:45. See you there!

ELECTIVE CREDITS

Do you need or want elective credits? If you do, come to the meeting in the library TODAY
at 3:30 pm. We have only 40 seats, so come and signup.

AFTER SCHOOL
LATIN DANCE

A new after school program is starting, come join and learn the art of Latin Dance. It is
open to any student that is interested in learning to dance; no prior experience
required. Come and have fun Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30pm 4:30pm in Room
317.

REEDELY COLLEGE The application deadline for the Honors Program at Reedley College is: March 1st.
HONORS PROGRAM

JUNIORS

Dont forget that January is CPR month (College Preparedness Rush). Register to take the
SAT or ACT, and give Mrs. Sanikian a copy of your registration and you could win a gift
card. For full details see the flyer on the front of Ms. Lovings door or outside of room 1005.

VALENTINES
DAY GIFTS

SHS Floral Design will be selling Valentines Day gifts on Friday, February 13th in Room 504
during break, lunch and after school until 4:30pm. Prices starting at $1.00.

SENIORS

If you need your GPA and Class Rank for the local scholarship applications see Ms. Loving;
she has a binder with that information for you. Do not ask anyone in the office to print out
your transcript for that information, Thank you.

ALL STUDENTS

Warnors Center for performing arts is having their 2015 classic film series and on Thursday,
February 19th at 6:00pm they will be presenting Singing in the Rain. If you are interested in
attending and would like free tickets, Please see Ms. Bonilla in the student office.

UPWARD BOUND

Upward Bound is recruiting new participants, if you are interested and want more
information please stop by room 1303 after school on Wednesdays.

SENIORS

If you missed the FAFSA workshop that was held at SHS Wednesday, February 4th there is
another FAFSA Workshop being offered Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 8 different locations
in the valley. One of them being Reedley College; See Ms. Loving for a flyer and more
information.

CSF

Its time to apply for CSF membership. Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores may pick up an
application in room 1501. Your completed application is due by Friday, February 6. A $5
donation is appreciated to help with the cost of graduation items related to Lifetime Member
achievement and our community service efforts. Seniors will be informed if the spring
semester is necessary to reach Lifetime.

TEACHER OF THE
WEEK

Mrs. Alford is the Teacher of the Week. She is understanding and helps everyone. Dont
forget to vote for your favorite teacher in the student office!

SENIORS

If you missed the senior meeting last Thursday, Please see Ms. Loving ASAP! For the Local
Scholarship application you will need to know your Total GPA and Class Rank. Ms. Loving
has that information for you, Please DO NOT ask anyone in the office to print put a
transcript for you to get that information. See Ms. Loving in Room 1002. Thank you.

SATURDAY
SCHOOL

If you are assigned to Saturday School, it is very important to attend. If you miss two
scheduled dates in a row you may get a referral. Please make sure be responsible and
attend your assigned Saturday School.
