This 2016, another set of national administration will be elected. According to statistics, 25 million voters will be
coming from the millennials and based on history, 25 million votes can elect a president. Although generational voting is a
concept yet to be discovered, it is a critical sector waiting to be tapped. I personally believe that 25 million votes reflect the
power the youth have in electing the next administration. We are the youth who can bring to the table a different
standpoint and crisp, new perspective. We are the youth who can easily influence because of our technology and social
media. We are the youth who possess this contagious energy and perspective that would make older generations listen to
us. Given this force the youth has to be involved in all sectors of the society, it is the responsibility of Sanggunian as an
authoritative representative of the students to deliver this message across platforms of discussion. It lies on the principle
to recognize the Filipino youth and its participation for the advancement of the societys general welfare.
This brings me to my vision for Sanggunian. I envision a Sanggunian capable of representing the interests and
protecting the general welfare of the student body in engaging with university affairs and policies. I envision a Sanggunian
catering to student sectors who bring organic and holistic student formation unacknowledged in the past. I envision a
Sanggunian as a representative authority who will bring back its position as the major stakeholder of the university. I
envision a Sanggunian who has the power and connections to establish our youth agenda and forward it as a national
concern.
I am MD, Mawe Duque, and I am running to be your Sanggunian President and this is my vision for your
Sanggunian:
Youth Enabler Sanggu 2015-2016: Towards a Participatory Youth in University,
Community, and National Affairs
A. Enabling the Institution to Enable You
Resolution-training for Course and Block Representatives as Part of Central Board Committees Chiefs
of Staff. A lot of concerns being received by Sanggunian come from the course and block representatives who
are in direct contact with our constituents. However, although these concerns are being forwarded to responsible
administrative offices, these are usually undocumented. It is now time to enable our course and block
representatives to not only be project participants but also legislative officers of the Sanggunian. The first step to
enable our representatives is to train them how to make resolutions or policies so that they may be aware of the
extent of Sanggunians power in the university. This skill is important for these representatives that are to be
included in the Central Board committees in order for them to be trained in doing stakeholder analysis and policymaking. In this way, we are helping students be more participatory by making them as partners in raising
students general welfare.
Immediate Releasing of Stands via Committee on Socio-Political Affairs. When issues pertaining to sociopolitical affairs are put on the table, students ask What does Sanggu have to say about this? However, for the
past school year, the Sanggunian has failed to release stands immediately to meet these issues. This school
year, we must impose guidelines in choosing the capable Central Board Officer to handle not only the Committee
on Socio-Political Affairs but also other central board committees as well. Issues of great urgency should be
discussed via the FB group for Central Board officers for quick correspondence and voting. This process of
crafting, approving, and releasing stands will make sure that the youths voice will be heard not only in the
university level but also in the national level.

What is the relevance of a government? Individuals have capabilities and can use these skills to pursue their
personal goals. Some goals however are too massive in nature and require more complex methods to be achieved. When
the individuals skills are not enough, he or she gathers people to form or simply joins an organization and this bigger
entity is able to pursue its advocacy using its established competencies. In the Loyola Schools community we have
various student groups, accredited or otherwise, that fight for different causes. However, even if the organization is
stronger than the individual, it still has its limitations. In pursuing its cause it will reach a point where its size and resources
arent enough anymore and its voice is not loud enough to be heard. The organization then will need the help of other
individuals, organizations or in short, the rest of the community to back it up. Some tasks are too massive that it will take
the will, the voice and the resources of the whole community to tackle them and this in my opinion is where government
comes in. Government is the entire community in action. The relevance of government is in tackling the problems
beyond the individual and the organization and this is where I believe Sanggus relevance is rooted. In todays context,
the call for the Sanggunian, the official student government of the ADMU Loyola Schools, is to lead the student
body in pursuing its advocacies in the macro-level. If our organizations are catering to patients in hospitals, Sanggu
should be supporting them by addressing issues in the countrys overall health system. If the voices of our students who
are advocating for environmental sustainability cant be heard by government offices or by the big corporations, the voice
of the entire LS student body represented by Sanggu might.
The LS community is comprised of individuals and organizations who are already doing good and are already
making differences. There is still however potential to create greater impact and bigger change and this, for me, is the
space for Sanggu. In a community where a lot of good is being done, Sanggu is the space where the community
can come together to achieve greater good. Through Sanggu, we can do M.O.R.E.
However, before the Sanggunian can lead the LS community in tackling the big problems I believe it has to
accomplish three things: 1. Empower and organize itself to become a competent institution worth following; 2.
Satisfy and win back the confidence of the student body by ensuring that all student interests within school are
protected; 3. Determine priority areas/sectors which the communitys and thus Sanggus time and resources will
be focused on.
If elected president of the Sanggunian, I plan on achieving these three things with my four point platform.
1. Make and institutionalize sector-specific task forces to be integrated in the Sanggunian structure.
If elected president I plan on creating 5 task forces that will cater to Health, Education, Sustainability, Filipino
Culture and Good Governance. These spaces will serve as the long missing executive arm of the Central
Sanggunian where the community can address national issues in a more organized and focused fashion. These
will serve as spaces where Ateneans from different schools, orgs and backgrounds can come together to tackle
national problems with interdisciplinary solutions.
The agenda for each task force, consisting of concrete plans and goals, will be crafted, forwarded as
resolutions to the Central Board and will be executed throughout the year was ratified. The idea is these 5 task
forces will be able to house the various advocacies Ateneans are passionate about. For example. Agrarian
Reform and the upcoming 2016 elections can fall under the Task Force on Good Governance, lobbying for the
STRAW Bill can fall under Education, etc.

2. Organize and empower the Sanggunian in terms of organizational competency and its positioning in the
Loyola Schools.
a. For the Sanggunian to improve as an organization, a culture of professionalism and accountability must be
established. This can be achieved by having performance monitoring system for all Sanggu officers.
Attendance, accomplishments, unprofessional behavior and other performance indicators will be recorded
and released to the public. Students deserve to know which of the officers are slacking off.
b. I also plan to reposition the Sanggunian in the overall LS landscape by lobbying for ADSA to be the
administrative body Sanggu will be coordinating and not OSA. This move will empower Sanggu to engage the
administration in all aspects of student life (formation, campus safety, academics, etc.) and not just student
activities. This also will entail setting the ground work for Sanggunians financial autonomy from OSA.
3. Be more Responsive and vocal on issues as well as report all Sanggunian efforts to the student body.
A critique than is rightfully thrown at the Sanggunian is that its silence has been deafening during the times
where significant issues have erupted. It failed to speak up when the memo banning human auctions was
released, when Senator Butch Abad was assaulted by a group in UP, and other incidents. I regretabbly have
participated in being too careful and silent during these times. This has to change. If elected president, Sanggu
shall be quick in releasing intelligible and informed stands on campus-wide and national issues. It will also
be more transparent on its plans, current efforts and expenses through more public memorandums so that
students will not have to wonder what their student government is up to. The financial transparency campaign
shall also be continued and expanded to fees beyond the Student Activities Fund.
4. Engage the administration more often in order to provide better student services and protect student
interests.
The Sanggunian Committees on Academic Affairs, Formation and Administrative Services will be tasked to be
more proactive in engaging the adminstration. The following are examples of issues that will be tackled:
On Academics:
a. Participation in the review and revision of problematic and outdated areas of the curriculum of certain
programs as well as the core curriculum
b. Quick response to support students victimized by unfair grades and faculty members
On Administration:
a. Continuation of the review and lobbying for reforms in OAS and OSA protocols particulalrly on reservations,
practice during RiB season, approval of sponsors, etc.
On Formation:
a. Participate in the revision of problematic INAF programs specifically INTACT and NSTP
On Student Safety:
a. Coordinate with Brgy. Loyola Heights Office, the QCPD and the Ateneo Campus Safety and Mobility Office to
provide better security for students on and off campus especially at night.

Confidence of students in its student government is an integral part in achieving an organic relationship between
the students and its student government. In the most recent years, however, the student body has been losing confidence
in its Sanggunian, as greatly manifested in last years failure of elections. Regaining the confidence of the people in the
institution serving them will take time, and in doing so, two elements will be necessary a competent Sanggunian and
an engaged public.
1
As the Chief Administrative Officer and the official custodian of all records and papers of the Sanggunian among
other things, the Secretary-General, together with his/her office (the OSG), largely impacts the management of both. The
competence of the Sanggunian and the amount of results it delivers to the student body, to an extent, can be traced to its
Secretary-General and the protocols and procedures he/she enforces. Information, on the other hand, are all directed to
the Secretary-General through the Secretary-Treasurers for dissemination to the public. Hence, public information is also
within his/her mandate. Essentially, the Secretary-General and the OSG are the Sanggunians processors or mechanisms
to effectively organize the institution and communicate with the people. Thus, it is necessary that the structure and
systems of the OSG itself are efficient.
OSG Restructuring and Systems Renewal
Restructuring the OSG and renewing its systems as discussed below target the following results: (1)
Sanggunian mobility; (2) student information; (3) an organized flow in receiving student concerns.
Secretary -General

Systems Control
The OSG can be divided into three branches: Knowledge Management (KM), Communications and Sanggunian
Mobile Application Development & Systems Control (ADSC). The Communications branch can be further divided into two:
Releasing and Receiving.
The KM branch will be in charge of the internal and administrative duties such as taking down the minutes of the
meetings, organizing and safe-keeping of data and consolidating reports (i.e. Accountability Check including public
attendance monitoring for Top Officers meetings/hearings; Central Board and Loyola Schools Committees Reports;
Midyear and Yearend Reports).

Information dissemination will be handled by the Releasing Communications branch which will constantly be
releasing infographics and Press Releases. Infographics aim to encourage readership by condensing the information
while the Press Releases aim to achieve a new level of transparency by putting into articles/statements the most recent
partnerships/engagements attended by the Sanggunian. The Releasing Communications branch will subsume the current
Department on Public Relations (DPR) in order to avoid more overlapping roles within the Sanggunian structure.
The Receiving Communications branch will directly take charge of the expanded Ateneo Student Concern Center
(ASCC) and will also be in charge of monitoring the progress of the concerns raised until they are resolved. The ASCC,
after undergoing expansion into three categories, will serve as the Sanggunians standard concerns,
suggestions/feedback and inquiries receiving body. A short-link to the ASCC form will be affixed in every Sanggunian post
for accessibility.
The ADSC branch will be in charge of developing and managing the Sanggunian Mobile Application. This will be
a joint effort with the OVPLS which aims to connect the Sanggunian to its constituents in literally an arms reach. The
Applications features will essentially include, but will not be limited to, information on the Sanggunian and the LS, school
announcements and an application version of the ASCC.
With this dynamic, Sanggunian units will be pressured to deliver results on time. Accessing information will also
be faster inside and out. With more information available to the public, there will also be more references for the students
to evaluate their student government.
Sanggunian Calendar
While restructuring the OSG is one way to mobilize the Sanggunian and communicate with its constituents,
another is by releasing a Sanggunian Calendar prior to the first and second semesters. With the calendar in place,
Sanggunian units will again be pressured to deliver results. It can also serve as a good public reference for feedback
(pre/post-project execution) and evaluations. Aside from these, the calendar can make the Sanggunians direction clearer
to the student body since the Sanggunians plans to achieve its thrusts will be visible.
Externalization
Lastly, as a number of advocacy-based task forces are expected from the next administration (ex. Bantay Halalan
Task Force for the 2016 National Elections, STRAW Task Force), establishing a direct line with institutions such as
the QC LGU, the Philippine government Departments, COMELEC, NGOs, and the like, can greatly aid the
Sanggunian in terms of mobility and impact. Strategically partnering with these entities can extensively increase the reach
of these task forces.

It is quite easy to fall into the trap of assuming that the role of the Finance Officer (FO) generally lies in holding the
keys to Sanggunians power of the purse. To some degree, the role of the FO is pretty much set and stone, especially
because its job is very internal in nature, but that alone isnt going to help get the institution get any further from where it
has plateaued in recent years. There is so much more potential to the role of the Principal Budgetary Officer.
With the current Sanggunian already working its way back up from the effects of the previous years failure of
elections, there is a call for a louder and more representative student government that is heard not just by the student
body, but moreso by the schools administration. The job belongs to a Finance Officer and not just to a treasurer for a
reason. The money we pay to the school is powerful as it is valuable, and we need someone to enable us and
furthermore, represent us in ensuring the proper and principled expenditure of it.
This is why I chose accountability as the very base of this platform while the individual Atenean student
fuels its purpose. I intend to generate an overall culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability amongst the
students, the Sanggunian, and even the schools administration. All this simply because it is YOUR money and you
deserve to continue to be enabled by it. Furthermore, I want to reveal to you the greater potential of YOUR money by
helping you demand transparency on it, and finally, having involvement with it.
1.) be enabled by it
Throughout my two years working in the Sanggunian, Ive encountered many instances wherein students
and orgs requested for the institutions support in their projects, advocacies, and proposals. Because of this, I
plan to expand and institutionalize systems that will cater to these different efforts of the student body.
Concretely, this entails the further expansion of the current Sanggu Subsidy System (SSS) that funds
student theses and projects. On the non-academic but equally important side, I will formally establish the
Constituent Support Incubator (CSI) which I intend to use as the Sanggunians way of promoting Ateneans with
advocacies and ideas that work towards the greater good to fully actualize them, also linking them with various
social development offices in our university like the Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED) and
Ateneo Center for Social Entrepreneurship (ACSent).
2.) demand transparency on it
This year, the Sanggunian, together with the Council of Organizations of the Ateneo (COA), took steps to
actively disseminate its expenditures throughout the year that were supported by the Student Activities Fund
(SAF) portion of our tuition fee. I plan to take it up a notch. The SAF is merely less than 500 pesos or 0.005% of
our entire tuition fee.
Its time to see where the rest of our tuition fee is going. Where is the yearly increase going?
Exposing the allocations in the yearly budget will consequently allow us to get a glimpse on what our schools
administration values and prioritizes, whether it be our education, the schools facilities, faculty and staff salaries,
etc.
Furthermore, we will be able to analyze how these allocations cascade to the student body and its
different forms, like the organizations, the varsity teams, and even to the Sanggunian and the orgs.
As your Finance Officer, I will make it a point to get everyone, not just myself, in the know regarding how
our tuition fee is budgeted, spent, monitored, and accounted for. I will continue the active disclosure of
expenditures of not just the Sanggunian, but now, even those of the schools administration.

I believe that the AdMU LS is a microcosm of both the weaknesses and strengths of our country and its
governments relations with its citizens, thus, is an ideal training ground for growing habits of inquiry and consciousness
amongst future stakeholders of this country.
In these formative years of our lives, if we become students of the Ateneo who actively want to know, to inquire,
and to understand how our money is spent, monitored, and accounted for, then we will most certainly expect no less from
our government, workplaces, or our offices once we move into the real world. Finally, especially in a school that prides
itself in its ability to raise the future leaders of this country, the same will be expected of us, and well be able to readily
hold responsibility for that.

Arts and Humanities Youth Conference. The first step in concretizing these objectives is to gather the members of the
community in a conference where creative and the academic groups from various contexts can congregate, not just to
form a network, but to unite in an advocacy for the cultivation of our sector beyond our campus walls. Ultimately, the
conference shall formulate a framework that will unite the efforts of the different groups and individuals.
The conferences itinerary shall include but shall not be limited to:
- Talks by recognized artists and scholars
- Showcase of visual and performance arts by both students and professors
- Group discussions on the participants proposals in addressing the cultivation of the arts and humanities field
outside the university setting
Integration Projects. The succeeding action plans of the Alliance will be according to the strategies consolidated in the
Arts and Humanities Youth Conference, but it will essentially entail the integration of the unique efforts of members of the
community.
Plenaries. The Alliance will ensure effective implementation by reporting through plenaries that will be held regularly. This
plenary will also serve as a means where each university can:
- Air out any relevant concern that the Alliance may address
- Actively promote discourse on social issues
- Create stands according to the general interest of our student body
Through these plans, I want us to get to know the faces of those whom we share our ideas and beliefs with and of those
who remind us of diversity. I, as SOH Chairperson, want SOH to be a community that will remind you of your stronghold,
and will bravely step out of the comfort zone with you.

As the Secretary-Treasurer of the School of Humanities, I will have but one goal, and that is to establish a
working foundation upon which the entire school board can function on, not simply for my term, but also for the next
generations to come. I aim to accomplish this primarily by focusing on two aspects: knowledge management and
internal procedures. These two aspects are further subdivided into three points each, and these, collectively, will detail
what I intend to be doing as the Secretary-Treasurer.
Under knowledge management, there is archiving, accessibility, and communication. Under internal procedures,
there is some necessary overlap with the previous aspect in terms of communication, and there is also formation and
development, as well as the code of internal procedures (CIP).
Archiving would involve the organized documentation of virtually all the activities of the School of Humanities
Sanggunian as they are manifested in various ways; this means that I would be collecting all manners of receipts, sales
invoices, minutes, project proposals, venue reservations, promotional materials, and a whole lot more. What I would like
to do here is to create a bank of information that would illustrate the activities of the school board. Proper documentation
of such materials are vital especially for future generations, that they would have a wealth of knowledge to draw upon by
the time they come to office. Creating such an archive would also play a role in the next main point.
In organizing and consolidating the information into such an archive, I wish to further boost the accessibility of
such information not only to the members of the school board but also to the constituents. The students have a right to
know what exactly their Sanggunian is doing, and I wish to deliver this to them through hard facts and data. The
particulars on how this information would be brought to the students shall be brought up at a later juncture, in the
communication branch under internal procedures.
Before that, however, the communication branch under knowledge management could be considered a form of
archiving, but more involved with the present. With this, I wish to create directories not simply within the school board but
also involving affiliated student organizations, other school boards, or even groups and fellow student councils
outside of the Ateneo, as necessary. This is to ensure that the lines of communication within our own sector and the
sectors we interact with are kept open at all times. This is also where the knowledge management and the internal
procedures aspects of my platform would interact and overlap; in order for regular communication to become
institutionalized within the school board, it is vital to gather the necessary data in these directories. With easy access to
the contact information of various people both within and without the school board, it will also be easier to maintain
interaction with them. As part of internal procedures, the Executive Officers must be constantly in contact with the Block
and Course Representatives of their respective slates, and vice versa. The student organizations affiliated with the
humanities would also be able to keep in touch via these directories, again to ensure that the avenues for discourse
are well-paved between all sectors.

The school board can maintain communication with its constituents in two ways: the first through the block
representatives which is, again, aided by the directories, for easier contact and the second through the use of
social media. The School of Humanities Sanggunian Facebook page, for instance, is oft neglected, even though it has
the capacity to become the gateway through which the constituents can easily access the information collated
through the aforementioned archival efforts. What I am pushing for here is a more open SOH Sanggunian, open for
discourse with the students, organizations, and other sectors.
Formation and development, on the other hand, would be a more or less purely internal matter; what I wish to
do here is to properly train the representatives and officers in the various procedures of the Sanggunian, in order to
ensure that they are well-prepared to work with and within this institution. Efforts on this part would hopefully be in
collaboration with the Department of Internal Affairs, particularly with the freshmen trainings and seminars. Naturally, this
is not limited to simply learning protocol; the ultimate goal would be to help the people within the school board to learn
and grow as people, by constantly immersing them in the cultures of discourse and interaction with the
administration and affiliated organizations, among other things.
Finally, there is the re-establishment of the Code of Internal Procedures within the school board, as it has been
oft-neglected particularly in the past year, with the School of Humanities Sanggunians lack of a Secretary-Treasurer and
Chairperson. By the reimplementation of such protocol, even simple things like attendance sheets or minutes-taking, the
aforementioned archival efforts would be greatly aided as the collection of information would become ever more
organized. Beyond this, adherence to such a code would help instil in the members of the Sanggunian a sense of
discipline and order.
As mentioned earlier, all these efforts are to achieve one goal, and that is, once again, to establish a working
foundation upon which the entire school board can function on, not simply for my term, but also for the next generations
to come. The two aspects that this foundation has made itself manifest, which are knowledge management and internal
procedures promote two key values that I believe is vital in maintaining a school board: information and organization.
I believe in the capacity of the Sanggunian, as an institution, to make a true change in the community. My job, then, as a
Secretary-Treasurer, is to ensure that the institution and all the people that it consists of are able to operate at maximum
capacity.
In other words: there is so much that we can do. I will make certain that they come true.

CONTINUITY
The School of Social Sciences was able to institutionalize a direct response team to social issues. The task
force for the marginalized led the Sanggunian in forwarding various advocacies of students and organizations within and
outside of the university, and played a huge role in setting the direction of SOSS. Its institutionalization created a clear
definition of the function of SOSS as a component of the student government and as a pioneer of creating a more
advocacy-based Sanggunian. To create a more relevant Sanggunian, we plan to continue this through:
1. Strengthening the Task Force for the Marginalized
This will be done through the strengthening of the relationship of the Sanggunian and its partner
organizations, like the Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB) and Ateneans for Agrarian Reform (AFARM). But
more than that, we aim to promote discourse among the members of the student government when it comes to
issues involving the marginalized sectors of society. This will allow the Sanggunian to be at the forefront of the
discussion not just within the university, but on a more national level.
On more concrete terms, the SOSS School Board, through the task force for the marginalized, will
push for a sponsor bill institutionalizing spending for the marginalized, requiring that at least 25% of the
Sanggunians budget (this is in addition to subsidies and grants) be spent for projects that address social
issues. This is to aid startup and existing advocacy groups in forwarding their advocacies.
2. Publishing a SOSS Manifesto
The manifesto contains the guiding principles for the School of Social Sciences. This is to ensure that all
actions and policies of the SOSS School Board will reflect the principles that it truly espouses as a school.
IMPROVEMENT
The kind of improvement that we want to create for the Sanggunian this year involves a clear and strict adherence
to its principles and purpose. We want to improve relationships with the students and organizations, by creating better
opportunities for them to live out their passions and advocacies. The School Board can do this by organizing a flagship
project that can serve as an outlet for social sciences majors to propose advocacies, pitch in their mini-projects and startup enterprises, or just talk about their thesis and its relevance. The student government should invest in these innovative
ideas by diversifying the school boards financial grant system for start-ups, social enterprises, advocacy projects, theses,
conferences, forums, and by providing assistance in networking with organizations within and outside the Ateneo.
1. Improve partnership with ADC
For the first time ever, the SOSS Sanggunian was able to establish a partnership with the Analysis and
Discourse Cluster which is home to 7 out of10 SOSS-related organizations. We plan to work closely with ADC in
order to engage the organizations better. Working with ADC is a more efficient way of mobilizing the student

2. Improvement of SOSS Advocacy Week
SOSS week this year was limited to SOSS home organizations that are part of the Analysis and
Discourse Cluster. We plan to improve this in the following year byconsulting non-accredited
organizations as well. As the student government, we want to empower different student groups and
organizations that are advocacy-based and geared towards social issues and discourse as well. This
way, we can get a better perspective on what kinds of advocacies need to be forwarded for the year.

RELEVANCE
The kind of relevance that we are after this year is social relevance. We want the Sanggunian to actively engage
in relevant social issues such as the environment, religion, and globalization. This allows the student government to
engage in more innovative discourse and to set a new and unique trend in terms of what kinds of issues to engage in. We
want to be at the forefront of the discussion of a variety of issues.
1. The Climate Change Imperative
In the past years, our country has witnessed natural disasters made even more unpredictable by
climate change. We hope to form environmentally responsible and aware students by engaging in the
environmental discourse both in the theoretical and
practical level. More avenues for discussion such as forums needs to be organized from the social sciences
perspective. Climate change is a multifaceted phenomenon. It affects our lives so much but know only little of it.
By organizing talks, we hope to bring out the different dimensions of it: the structural, political, economic, among
other social dimensions. More concretely, we hope to push for the following initiatives:
A.
Release more promotions for the use of bicycles on campus and induce a culture of biking in the
Ateneo;
B.
Promote the use of E-comets and lobby for adjustment of routes of E-Comets to
accommodate more students;
C.
Push for the integration of lessons that tackle major subjects to the climate change
agenda;Shape and formulate the youth environmental agenda toward the 2016 national elections.
2. Religious Dialogue
This would encourage dialogue among communities in the Ateneo and foster a culture in the SOSS community
that is more open to the different religious expressions.
3. Internationalization
Global Trends in the social sciences
-Talk about forums on globalization, feminism
- A study on the effects of ASEAN integration to fresh graduates vis-a-vis the free flow of labor. This study is
important because as a university will now face the threat of different colleges and universities from all over South
east asia. We will then pass a resolution at the end of this study that mandates SOSS SANGGU to create projects
that will equip our students and the students of different universities to face the ASEAN integration. Therefore this
part of the platform is both a deepening of the ability of SOSS majors to identify economic and social trends while
at the same time creating a long term project that is designed to respond to a context of globalization.

GRANDER PURSUITS
The several failures of elections in the past years is a wake up call for the Sanggunian. The institution is broken,
and - now more than ever - there is an immense need to re-think its role, relevance, and raison d'etre. It is in this deep
brokenness that we are even more compelled to think about the promise and possibility of genuine student governance in
the Sanggunian. I am driven by hope, and this allows us to radically re-imagine and reframe our approach in reforming
this institution in the most concrete response possible.
Re-imagining means thinking of endless and new possibilities. With this, my platform seeks to reassert the
presence and visibility of a student government as an institution with strong foundations, and engage closely with students
in re-imagining the endless possibilities and promise of student governance in the social sciences. I, with The Christian
Union for Socialist and Democratic Advancement (Crusada), am hopeful, and this brings us to re-imagine
grander things for the School of Social Sciences-Sanggunian.
1. Strengthen Advocacies in the Social Sciences by Incubating Ideas and Investing on Startups, and by
Strengthening Ties with Organizations
Social sciences students are bound together by the diversity of our advocacies. We always stand for something
beyond ourselves - for our passion for politics and development, for transformative media and journalism, toward
groundbreaking psychological discoveries, international affairs and culture, a more inclusive economy, among many
others.
Whatever field you are in, I want to invest in the drive and advocacy that you have. The School Board can do this
by organizing a flagship project that can serve as an outlet for social sciences majors to propose advocacies, pitch in their
mini-projects and start-up enterprises, or just talk about their thesis and its relevance. The student government should
invest in these innovative ideas by diversifying the school boards financial grant system for start-ups, social enterprises,
advocacy projects, theses, conferences, forums, and by providing assistance in networking with organizations within and
outside the Ateneo. This aims to bring out the best ideas and solutions from social sciences majors, be it as individuals, in
groups, or as a project of the organization. Allocation and disbursement of funds will directed towards different advocacies
throughout the different disciplines of the social sciences.
2. Strengthen the DREAM Team for the Marginalized
This year, the SOSS Sanggunian was able to institutionalize the DREAM Team for the Marginalized, a task force
that specifically responds to issues confronting marginalized communities and sectors of society. Aside from deepening
our ties with organizations and initiatives that tackle issues of marginalization - such as the Ateneo for Agrarian Reform
Movement (AFARM), Ateneo Task Force Anti-APECO, and the Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB) - I hope to further
institutionalize this culture of response by integrating efforts of the Central Board representatives in university-wide
legislation to ensure that issues bigger than us are the forefront of the discussion. One such legislation is a sponsor bill
institutionalizing spending for the marginalized, requiring that at least 25% of the Sanggunians budget (this is in addition
to subsidies and grants) be spent for projects that address social issues.

As School of Science and Engineering Chairperson, I envision a SOSE that aims to use innovation
towards nation building.
My flagship project is a Business Model Competition which will be held during Innovation Week 2016.
This is an avenue to bring together the SOSE students idea, the SOM students marketing and strategy,
the SOSS students perspective on social realities and socio political contexts, and the SOH students
take on humanities. This will span throughout the entire year. Students from all 4 schools will come
together to form a team. As the year progresses, companies and speakers will be invited to give
workshops and talks on innovation, marketing, social issues, and humanities. Teams will be developing
their proposal throughout the entire year, which will be presented to investors in a culminating Business
Model Competition event. Companies are envisioned to give financial grant to the execution of these
proposal and could provide internship and employment opportunities to participating students. Through
my flagship project, SOSE students will see their ideas developing outside a thesis paper or lab research;
they will see their ideas becoming profitable, becoming of help to other people, and becoming purposive.
As School of Science and Engineering Chairperson, I plan to go back to the basics.
I will bring back photocopy and printing subsidies for deans listers. I will also continue implementing
thesis financial grants through the Sanggunian Subsidy System for all students who wish to apply for aid.
I will create a compilation of survival kits from all departments to be placed in one storage database which
will serve as a SOSE 101. I plan to restructure the program of SOSE Open House so that incoming
freshmen immediately feel at home in SOSE. I plan for the school board to be in sync with the orgs
through proper coordination and communication with the Council of Organizations of Ateneo, starting with
an inclusive PlanSem with the Science and Technology Cluster and the home orgs. I will also ensure that
SOSE Sanggunian is in constant communication with the Dean through regular meetings, and more
importantly, is attending Deans Council meetings. I want the administrators to feel that they are still direct
stakeholders in the holistic formation of students, and I want students to feel that they are part of the
discussion.
As School of Science and Engineering Chairperson, I will pursue an advocacy-driven and purposive
school board.
I will push for a school board that sees a bigger picture, one beyond a students stay in Ateneo. At the
start of the year, I plan to realign SOSE Sanggus goals and thrusts through an evaluation and revision of
our mission and vision. I also aim to bring back the foundation of the Ateneo National Environment
Conference (ANECON), a former SOSE Sanggu flagship project which invites high school and college
students from all schools in the Philippines to come together and discuss environmental issues.
I dream of a School Of Science and Engineering that practices interdisciplinarity in their respective
specializations and uses science as a bridge to fill communication gaps.

In my term as its Secretary-Treasurer, the SOSE Sanggunian will be an institution of order, and of proper communication.
Transparency and financial responsibility will be its forefront.
GRANTS
This part of my platform is ran by two things: one is that a big population of the students in SOSE are scholars, and two,
majority of the theses of the courses in SOSE require much funding because of its experimental nature.
The system of the SSS (Sanggu Subsidy System) particularly for the School of Science and Engineering will be
fine-tuned and be made more effective. Under this are thesis grants for graduating students, and projects of
Home Organizations. The scope of the grants will gain a wider audience and will provide more opportunities for
students to make their work publishable and their projects be utilized for nation building.
Deans Listers subsidies, particularly the use of photocopying machines will be brought back for these students
to avail of. Possible expansion of subsidies for the Deans Listers will also be studied.
COMMUNICATION
It is a major part of my job as the Secretary-Treasurer to ensure the proper communication between the Sanggunian and
its main stake-holders the students. These are the ways I will make sure that communication will be fast, lean, and
efficient.
A SOSE Sanggu Feedback System will be established to delineate and remove any uncertainty in the way
students give their concerns and suggestions to the Sanggunian. Proper collation and funneling to the SOSE
Dean, Departments, and the Central Board will also be established.
Public online storage and in-school posting space for pertinent documents such as the minutes of all
meetings held within SOSE Sanggu, proposed and accepted Budget Proposals for all of its projects, pictures, and
other supporting documents necessary for transparency.
Bi-weekly/Monthly posts of highlights in SOSE is a simple pet-project to help give the students a sense of
pride and love for Science.
SOSE Manual this is to make an all things SOSE primer to be distributed first to the freshmen, then eventually
to the upperclassmen. The contents of this manual will be a detailed description of each course, the history of
SOSE, its mission vision, etc.
SYSTEMS
The main bulk of my efforts will be coursed in crafting systems that will minimize entropy and provide order in how the
SOSE Sanggunian will do things.
I will do a mass archiving of past documents to provide a clearer historical picture and foundation for the
proper archiving of the documents within the SOSE Sanggunian. This is to provide continuity and proper
transitioning for the next officers to come.
A Finance Tracker will be established to let officers in SOSE Sanggunian monitor the status of the flow of money
for their projects to ensure that no money will be put in the wrong place and that every peso is accounted for.
The biggest area of focus for the making of systems will be in the crafting of a lasting CIP that will still be
sustainable and flexible to use even by the next set of officers to come after my term.

From when I started at JGSOM Sanggunian, it has been one that has focused on providing services and initiatives to its
constituency, and in turn has created a sound foundation in its projects. This year, I envision it to be more than just a body
to provide services for the students. I envision JGSOM Sanggunian to immerse students in worlds outside their own.
For SY2015-2016, the JGSOM Sanggunian will be a Sanggunian for the students, and with the students.
STRENGTHENING RELATIONSHIPS
WITH THE BUSINESS CLUSTER AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
JGSOM Sanggunian and the Business Cluster (BC) cater to the same constituency, with almost half of the BC orgs
functioning as home organizations for JGSOM students. While there is an annual collaborative effort between the two
institutions, via the SOM Week, the relationship between the two should be strengthened. I plan to strengthen the JGSOM
Sanggunian/Business Cluster relationship by doing the following:
1. Partnerships in Projects
JGSOM Sanggunian will initiate a focused group discussion (FGD) at the beginning of the term while both groups are
still in their planning stages. In doing so, the two groups will be able to discuss their individual plans and create
partnerships in projects. Such project partnerships will be able to expand the audience reach of attendees in existing
events to accommodate interested and concerned non-org members, or to create new and relevant events for the
constituents. The start-of-year FGD will also allow for the calendaring of JGSOM Sanggunian and BC events so that
these do not clash with each other, and constituents are able to fully appreciate all events.
2. FGDs with Sanggunian representatives and org representatives
Org presidents and representatives will be invited to FGDs whenever needed, especially when issues (international,
national, local, in-school) arise. This will create discourse from the perspectives of both students and orgs. More
points-of-view will also be heard through this.
Non-JGSOM students who are part of non-home organizations (AIESEC, AJMA, MEcO) will also be able to have their
voice heard, especially in issues that concern the management and business environments. Other than FGDs, org
presidents will be invited to meetings and plenaries for them to provide input in JGSOM Sanggunians plans.
Partnerships with other groups will also be established in the form of projects throughout the year.
1. Partnerships with the Loyola Schools Office of Placement and Career Services (LSOPCS) Instead of
creating separate projects for the constituents, JGSOM Sanggunian will involve themselves and be part of
planning for career-based activities and initiatives with the Office, instead of just being a promotional arm for
events.
2. Partnerships with Other Organizations
In order to open opportunities to JGSOM students, projects and initiatives will be created in partnership with
organizations outside the BC. Topics such as The Role of Business in the Development of the Philippines (in
partnership with Analysis and Discourse Cluster orgs), or how to utilize management skills in the health sectors
(in partnership with Health and Environment Cluster orgs) will be able to show students what avenues they can
take given their skills.

Taking the position of Secretary-Treasurer of the School of Management, I plan to bring in an attitude that I
believe is lacking in the current system of Sanggunian: Assertiveness. In this academic year, there have been many
efforts to show the relevance of Sanggunian to the student body, but I believe we can take it a step further by
emphasizing a more aggressive practice of execution and promotion within JGSOM School Board and ultimately within
Sanggunian. With the right planning and execution of proposed projects where SOM students are benefited, as well as
proper promotion efforts, we would be able to not perhaps save Sanggunian per se in the eyes of SOM students but to
redefine Sanggunian, redefine in a sense where we integrate the attitude of assertiveness within the system that could
improve effectiveness in works and projects that would make an impact in SOM in a way where they would see the
significance of Sanggunian. This is to be done in order to continually promote the main purpose of Sanggunian, which is
to serve the student body. I hope to start this trend for my school and hope to spread it to the other schools of Ateneo as
well, if elected. Being elected into this position will give me a voice within the Central Board of Sanggunian and a platform
for me to share my ideas, practice, and attitude to other student leaders, but of course without ultimately failing to perform
my duties as Secretary-Treasurer.
1.) Execution of role as Secretary-Treasurer
If elected, it is my responsibility to ensure that budget expenses proposed by representatives for important
projects are to be presented to the Central Board for approval and to ensure that the representatives would then receive
the proper approved funding. I plan to not only fulfil this responsibility but also perform beyond the job description of the
position. I plan to attend central board, school board and batch plenaries and not only facilitate them if necessary but also
give my inputs and suggestions on important matters during these meetings. The presence of the Secretary-Treasurer in
these meetings is crucial to contribute to the execution of roles and duties. Another would be to keep a systematic tracker
of expenses per project to make sure that all expenses are to be accounted for. I plan to make this tracker accessible to
the JGSOM School Board for transparency reasons through the use of online spreadsheets. If emergency expenses are
to be made in projects that are not inputted in the tracker, I would make sure to record these expenses and submit the
properly-prepared receipts to the Central Board as soon as possible and reimburse the representatives of these projects
as soon as possible. The recorded emergency expenses will then be inputted in the tracker. I believe that an organized
and systematic way of recording expenses can ensure the funding of projects and the reimbursement of emergency
spending.
Additionally, as Secretary-Treasurer, it is my responsibility to keep track of minutes of meetings under the JGSOM
School Board, which includes batch plenaries and school board plenaries. I plan to create a system where each minutes
per plenary is to be recorded and submitted to an online dropbox accessible to all JGSOM officers in order for all officers
to be updated on important matters concerning each batch and the entire school. Lastly, for next school year, I plan to
coordinate with JGSOM department and the Office of the Registrar to obtain a list of names and contact details of all
JGSOM students, which will then be inputted in a system I would create for constituency checks. The system would be
created in an online spreadsheet accessible to all JGSOM officers that would include the name and contact details of
each JGSOM student systematically separated per year in different tabs, then further separated per course and per block
(applicable only to the Freshmen and Sophomore year levels) Each course and/or block will be assigned representative(s)
belonging to said course and/or block that would conduct constituency checks on them. A status column will be added to
each course and/or block in the spreadsheet that the representative(s) would fill up to determine the status of each
student. An undesirable status will be reported to the Central Board of Sanggunian to help the student in need. This
system is to be crafted in order to conduct constituency checks more efficiently and to make sure that all students will be
accounted for during times of natural calamities and other events.

I believe that the arts and the humanities are powerful agents that can compel those in our spheres of influence to
collectively redirect our nation. This platform aims to provide a space for SOH students to use the arts and the humanities
to create a united front and deal with the issues concerning our nation. In order to accomplish this goal, I propose projects
that will fire up the passions of not only the School of Humanities but also the whole university and the world at large.
EMPOWER
We work with a small number of people in the School of Humanities Sanggunian. This should not hinder us from
being of service to our constituents. I want to optimize the block representatives in order to have an efficient and effective
school board. Block representatives must be able to propose small but significant projects that are designed for every
course in SOH. In this way, SOH majors are challenged to practice the creativity they possess.
To successfully execute this plan, I propose a Project Creativity Seminar, wherein the School Board will be
trained to engineer projects that are noteworthy and feasible. In order to successfully execute these projects, I intend to
have a Project Management Seminar that will teach the School Board the know-how to execute and manage projects,
trouble-shoot problems, reserve venues and etc.
It is conducive to have the block representatives submit a monthly report for me to be able to monitor the progress
of the projects proposed and to maintain momentum.
POLITICIZE
The School of Humanities Sanggunian must step outside the status quo to do meaningful work. The kind of work
that will inspire others to follow, help the Sanggunian get noticed, and leave a legacy long after our terms have ended.
I want to use the arts and the humanities to educate the voters in the incoming 2016 national elections. I believe
that voters education through mediums such as theatre, visual arts, writing, and etc, will be easily accessible by the
masses and that it can definitely liberate the people from the fact that power hungry officials are using them as pawns. It is
time for the Ateneo community to truly live up to the Jesuit motto men and women for others. I believe that art and
literature can change the course of our nation.
In addition to that, I want the School of Humanities Sanggunian to release stands and lobby for bills that are
centred on the arts and the humanities, e.g. the protection of Intellectual Property Rights.
To maximise the impact of this project, I plan on integrating the SOH-related and home organisations, the School
Board, and the home departments.
EFFECTIVE SERVICE DELIVERY
I want to propose an Academic Affairs subcommittee, a Complaints and Action committee for our batch. In this
way, we get to respond to our constituents concerns efficiently. I want the sophomore slate to solve the problems our
constituents together.
MARKET
In order to promote the School of Humanities, I want to provide the students with the opportunity to learn more
about the humanities and to explore the different career paths they might be interested in. I want to provide the batch
tickets to cultural activities and events outside Ateneo. Particularly to theatre, dance, performance, historical and social
awareness events. It is important that we expose the batch to the world outside Ateneo.

A huge factor in the success of a government is discourse, and I aim to represent the School of Humanities in
the best way that I can in the Central Board through advocating this in my plans. My platform advocates discourse in
academic and co-curricular affairs, and through establishing more constituency involvement. This will be done
through establishing policies that will help protect the academic and creative rights of SOH students, providing the
League of Independent Organizations or LIONS an avenue to voice out their concerns, and by engaging in discourse
with constituents through a more student-centered, grassroots approach. These thrusts aim to not only make sure
that their rights are better protected but also to make sure that the voices of the students of the humanities, and
eventually the whole student population are heard.
Academics:
Systematizing the processing of student concerns through the help of the Committee on Academic Affairs will be
beneficial to both the constituents and to Sanggu. I plan to establish a more streamlined and uncluttered Code of Internal
Procedures that will give students a swifter response to their concerns, and that the students rights are upheld in
addressing them. I also plan to coordinate with our schools Secretary-Treasurer in order to make sure that information
regarding these concerns are archived to be used as reference both for the current and future Sanggunian.
Furthermore, legislative changes that will better protect intellectual property rights (IPR) will be important to
uphold the creative rights of SOH students. In order to achieve this, I will hold consultations with legal professionals
regarding IPR violations, and based on my findings coordinate with the administration, specifically the Academic Dean for
Academic Affairs, on how to best legitimatize this into the constitutions Code of Academic Integrity and the Magna
Carta of Undergraduate Students Rights.
Co-Curriculars
Communication with home orgs is a very efficient way of finding out the concerns of constituents, and as most
SOH home orgs are independent, communicating with the League of Independent Organizations will be integral in
enabling discourse to happen between Sanggu and the constituency. As students, members of independent orgs deserve
to have their voices heard, and I aim to bridge the gap between LIONS and the administration, specifically with the
Office of Student Affairs and Office of Administrative Services. This will not mean that Sanggu will be vying to immediately
grant them the same privileges as accredited orgs, but rather will assist them in pursuing their passions as
independent orgs, or if they want to, to become recognized as an accredited organization by Ateneo. For the latter, I
plan to devise an Accreditation Assistance System to help those orgs aiming for accreditation.

There is a need for the Sanggunian to re-think its role, relevance, and raison dtre. I, as a student, am driven by

Social sciences students are bound together by the diversity of our advocacies. We always stand for something

organizing a flagship project that can serve as an outlet for social sciences majors to propose advocacies, pitch in their
mini-projects and start-up enterprises, or just talk about their thesis and its relevance. As a freshman block representative
I have seen the seeds of this endeavor being planted through projects spearheaded by the School of Social Sciences
such as the funding of subsidies for individuals, groups, and organizations; however, more emphasis must be made on
projects that offer students avenues to explore their competencies and utilize resources to advocate causes. The student
government must invest in these innovative ideas by diversifying the school boards financial grant system for start-ups,

The utilization of SOSS competencies can be encouraged through a project that is divided into phases in which
advocacies and start-up projects are given the chance to first, propose their ideas, second, plan and utilize sources that
will be given (i.e. workshops) and third, to implement their ideas.
Among my fellow students the concept of batch unity is continually uttered and proposed by aspiring officers
however, oftentimes this term is used too vaguely, and its potential not fully recognized. The term batch unity can,
however, be used for a greater cause if students work together toward a cause much bigger than themthis is how the
School of Social Sciences must hone students as men and women for others. First, students must be educated by means
of talks and workshops on current issues and events such as the rapid internationalization of the country by means of
calendar shifts and the ASEAN integration, the feminist/meninist movements, and climate change imperatives, among
others; through these endeavors, students will be able to at least bring home one specific issue or advocacy that is
personal to theman advocacy that they can zealously pursue. Second, more students must be active in the efforts of the
School of Social Sciences Sanggunian by means of asking block representatives to spearhead specific batch projects and
then looking for members of their teams in their corresponding blocks or courses.
With the rapid assimilation of the University toward globalization, now more than ever there are so many
opportunities for students of the social sciences. Internationalization also means being responsive to global trends in a
more competitive environment. I intend to coordinate with the Loyola Schools Office of Placement and Career Services
(LSOPCS) to ensure that social sciences students get access to opportunities related to their fields for internships and
employment. Moreover, there must be a school board project in partnership with discourse cluster organizations that
provide students specifically in the School of Social Sciences job and internship opportunities based on their fields in the
development, economic, policy, and psychology sectors, among others; this will in turn ensure that students get enough
opportunities to form their identities and career paths as passionate women and men of the social sciences.

How do we reserve venues? How do we loadrev? The lack of answers to these questions often becomes a hindrance to
our life as org members, leaders, and as students, and this is why I will make information my advocacy. Information is a
necessity to survive in the Ateneo, and this is why I will be pushing for easier access to information.
Voters Week
This project is made so that voting is much more accessible to Ateneans everywhere by making information about
candidates both in Sanggu elections and Philippine election easier to access. This project however, does not only
seek to make voting more accessible but to inform others as well about candidates who are running in the
elections through blasts and tarps that serve to tell what the candidate did and his/her achievements. I plan to
coordinate with people from UP and other schools in regards to spreading awareness of the Philippine elections
to this project by asking their student council to join as well in the sharing of the information. As well as make a
facebook page about it. While in regards to Sanggu much more awareness of the platforms that a candidate
intends to work upon and why should you vote for him/her by coordinating with other orgs with the use of tarps
and blasts by the Sanggunian.
EVERYTHING ATENEOThis project aims to be able to make life in the Ateneo easier by helping fellow students access information
conveniently. Change it to: Many of us, especially the younger batches, seek knowledge on procedures such as
how to loadrev, taking a minor, etc. Through this project, these types of information and processes will be readily
available to the public by making it more accessible through the use of blasts, tarps and easier locations in the
handbook.
SOSS SHIFTING, DOUBLE MAJOR AND MINORING and JTA
Each of the students, no matter what their school is, has the right to know every bit of detail of their course. This
project would serve as a guide and a help in discerning the course for you. This is especially relevant to the
sophomores who are still trying to grasp their respective courses. This project will also serve as an aid for you
with your decisions when it comes to course-related matters such as double majoring and minoring.
The project is to be cooperated with other schools in a BCA project in order to better the amount of participants in
this project and the convenience of the students. Also in regards to JTA, it will also be included in the manual on
the possible dates of going abroad for the semester especially for SOSS.
All in all, information in the Ateneo is essential if you want to enjoy your stay here. It helps when you know what to do and
whether or not voting should be done or not. Knowledge is power and trying to make your life enjoyable is one of my goals
here in school.

The Sanggunian is in trouble. Given the failures of elections from the past years, we see reason enough to rethink its role, relevance and raison detre. As a freshman and ongoing sophomore, I would dare to hope for the realization
of the potentials, promise, and possibilities that the Sanggunian can offer.
Being a member of The Christian Union for Socialist and Democratic Advancement (CRUSADA), we believe that
the best way to revitalize the Sanggunian is to think institutionally. By deepening reforms within the institution, we will be
able to strengthen and the foundations and reach out to the students through the School Board of the School of Social
Science (SOSS) - Sanggunian.
The strength of the School of Social Sciences lie in the diversity of our students. With different students come
different beliefs and different advocacies. We in CRUSADA believe that these advocacies are an asset to the School of
Social Sciences. In relation to this, the School Board can invest in your advocacy by organizing a flagship project that can
serve as an outlet for social sciences majors to propose advocacies, pitch in their mini-projects and start-up enterprises,
or just talk about their thesis and its relevance. The student government should invest in these innovative ideas by
diversifying the school boards financial grant system for start-ups, social enterprises, advocacy projects, theses,
conferences, forums, and by providing assistance in networking with organizations within and outside the Ateneo. The
student government aims to be partners with the students of SOSS in the realization and fulfillment of their advocacies. In
this, we hope to bring out the best ideas that our students may have to offer.
SOSS is an institution that grooms the advocacies of students by engaging students and directing them to experts
in the field of advocacy campaign within and outside the university. This will entail coming up with an official list of the
SOSS SANGGUNIAN network that has a capability of creating a national campaign. These connections range from
NGOs to financial advisors.
The utilization of SOSS competencies can be encouraged through a project that is divided into phases in which
advocacies and start-up projects are given the chance to first, propose their ideas, second, plan and utilize sources that
will be given (i.e. workshops) and third, to implement their ideas.
Dialogue is an important aspect in any institution. In SOSS, I am to be able to increase our students ability to
engage in dialogue in matters such as climate change, religious diversity, and the shift in our academic calendar. By
conducting talks such as those regarding globalization, feminism, and the effects of ASEAN integration, not only is
dialogue fostered, but SOSS students are equipped with the knowledge necessary to adapt and integrate into the
internationalization efforts of the Ateneo. With this, more opportunities are opened for our students for their knowledge
and participation in the Junior Term Abroad (JTA) program.
With dialogue comes unity. In order for SOSS students to achieve this unity through dialogue, there is an
imperative need for the active participation of all SOSS students, as well as their block representatives, in order to foster
both a unity within the School of Social Science and an increase in discourse among students.

The failure of elections has been an ongoing problem in the Ateneo for the past years. The students apathy
towards the student government says a lot the institution. It is broken and these past years have served as a wake up call
to the Sanggunian. A reevaluation of its roles, purpose, functions, and relevance is imperative to coming up with a solution
to the current problems that we are faced with.
Now, more than ever, shows the need for genuine and innovative student leadership that will move everyone else
in the Ateneo into action. The presence of the many possibilities and opportunities for change leaves me optimistic, and
this allows us to radically re-imagine and reframe our approach in reforming this institution in the most concrete response
possible. I am hopeful that theres a lot more in store for the School of Social Sciences. With effective student governance
that comes hand in hand with progress, understanding, and the passion to serve, I am optimistic that the School of
Sciences will come out as a well-built structure with better student relationships and stronger foundations.
A. Strengthen Advocacies in the Social Sciences by Incubating Ideas and Investing on Startups, and by
Strengthening Ties with Organizations
Social sciences students, myself included, are bound together by the diversity of our advocacies. We always
stand for something beyond ourselves - for our passion for politics and development, for transformative media and
journalism, toward groundbreaking psychological discoveries, international affairs and culture, a more inclusive economy,
among many others.
Whatever field you are in, we want to invest in the drive and advocacy that you have. The School Board can do
this by organizing a flagship project that can serve as an outlet for social sciences majors to propose advocacies, pitch in
their mini-projects and start-up enterprises, or just talk about their thesis and its relevance. This would be beneficial for
everyone because the students will have a place to share ideas and just not let them go to waste. The student
government should invest in these innovative ideas by diversifying the school boards financial grant system for start-ups,
social enterprises, advocacy projects, theses, conferences, forums, and by providing assistance in networking with
organizations within and outside the Ateneo. I believe that being able hone these talents, skills, and advocacies will create
a more holistic and well rounded environment wherein everyone is given a chance to do something more. By doing so,
everyone is given an opportunity to take the first step into something that theyre passionate about.
B. Internationalization
As a European Studies Major, Ive always been drawn to internationalization and how it opens up a variety of
opportunities for everyone. Next school year, the Ateneo will undergo a shift in the academic calendar as part of its efforts
at internationalization. This means more opportunities for international mobility, a bigger Junior Term Abroad (JTA)
program for the social sciences, and an influx of exchange students from foreign universities. Given this, we would like to
strengthen the information campaign regarding JTA by showcasing the competencies of partner universities and
showcasing the different experiences of SOSS students who have been on JTA. Aside from this, we will lobby for
scholarships from the Ateneo aside from those offered by foreign universities. Internationalization also means being
responsive to global trends in a more competitive environment. We intend to coordinate with the Loyola Schools Office of
Placement and Career Services (LSOPCS) to ensure that social sciences students get access to opportunities related to
their fields for internships and employment.

I have always believed that we, Ateneans, are exceptionally lucky because we come from a university with a long
line of great men and women who have had the opportunity to be trail blazers and glass-ceiling breakers. I believe that the
Sanggunian, like any other place in Ateneo, is a place where we can set standards and begin to break barriers.
The Sanggunian, however, has somehow lost its way and its commitment, and this is shown by the failure of
elections that we have faced in the past. I see that a great deal of the Sanggunians constituents feel that the Sanggunian
has lost its relevance to student life. People wonder what the role of the Sanggunian is when they have their
organizations and their academics to worry about. This perception is what I want to fix in my campaign and in my time as
your CB Rep.
During this campaign season and the possible time I will spend as your CB, I want to bring the Sanggunian back
to you and this can only be done when we walk together towards a better Sanggunian. Thus, I have developed a platform
focusing on the three Rs that I believe are the core roles of the Sanggunian and are the things members of the
Sanggunian have to do in order to bring themselves back to the student body. The three Rs are the following:
REFORM
Reform the UAAP ticket sale system in order to ensure a more efficient way of disseminating information regarding
the selling of UAAP tickets and to ensure a more efficient way of selling tickets in order to make sure that everyone
has
the
chance
to
buy
tickets
for
the
games.
To ensure this reform, I propose that an online site be created where students can find out where and when tickets
are being sold. Through this online site, students can also reserve tickets for events in the event that they cannot
make it to the timeframe of selling the tickets.
The second part of the UAAP ticket sale reform resolution is to attempt to encourage the student body to attend nonpeak Ateneo competitions. Such aims to improve the hatak system of the school to encourage students to go to
these games. In line with this, I propose that we institutionalize moves to improve student attendance to these games
by providing a bus ride system and a carpool system to these games and by releasing through the proposed website
for ticket sales where and when these games will be held.
Now why the need to push for these changes? It is because we have to make sure that everyone is given the
opportunity to raise the banner of Ateneo. This is why the second point of the reform part of this platform is so crucial,
because we need to come out and support our athletes. I believe that showing support is a way of acknowledging the
hard work these athletes put into training and balancing their academics.

REACH OUT
Reach out to the student body and the batch by creating an election town hall plenary to allow people to establish
rapport with their candidates. The rationale behind the town hall plenary is that in every election, candidates must
make a connection with their voters. This will bring the candidates closer to the voters and, at the same time, it
will
give
candidates
an
avenue
to
further
reach
out
to
their
constituents.
A panel will moderate the time for the candidates to answer the questions, but the questions will mainly come
from
the
audience.
Reach out to the batch by conducting a politicization effort through an open forum to discuss campus, national,
and international issues. This open forum will be done in coordination with the ADC organizations and the Course
Representatives so as to engage students to attend without forcing their attendance. The format of the forum
would be to give an issue to the attendees of the forum and allow them to debate and discuss this issue
extensively. Such precedes my move for a more politically oriented CB. The open forum will be the first step
before I deliver a political issue report to the CB.
RENEW
Renew our commitment to protecting students rights by filling an Anti-Discrimination resolution for the LGBT
community. This will be my landmark bill for when I enter the Central Board. Such a resolution will aim to create
an office that will serve as an action desk. The purpose of the action desk is to verify and act upon complaints and
concerns raised by members of the student body regarding discrimination and other LGBT-related concerns. The
office will aim to work closely with the administration in solving such complaints and will seek to find the best
resolution to any given complaint and problem. Such a resolution will also push for the institutionalization of
Ateneos very own pride week where the community will be able to experience diversity and be able to
understand and respect members of the LGBT. The LGBT Anti-Discrimination resolution is a must in the
Sanggunian because we have to highlight the fact that we will stand to protect diversity in Ateneo and that we
want to set a precedent that in Ateneo, there is no room for bigotry and prejudice.
During the course of my campaign and my possible time as your 3 SOSS CB, I promise to make sure that we will
move to a better Sanggunian together. With your help, the Sanggunian that we once thought as pointless will be
transformed into something that works for you, and for the generations to come. Join me and IgnITE in pushing
for a Sanggunian that Reforms, Reaches Out, and Renews.

EMPOWERED REPRESENTATIVES
This year, I plan to produce more empowered and more confident block representatives. As an executive officer, I
want to take better care of my reps by empowering them so that they may be able to work more effectively. This will be
done through an online SOSE Newsletter that will feature the representatives who have been doing more than what has
been asked of them. The newsletter will be released monthly with the minutes of our meetings (produced in a more
digestible way) so that our constituents will be better informed, and so that we will be promoting transparency and visibility
along the way.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT
I plan to shift from projects to promote batch unity to projects that will help my constituents in their stay in SOSE.
Thus, I plan that at least two months before their midterm and final exams, my representatives will be tasked to survey
their blockmates to find out which of the subjects they are taking are the most difficult for them, so that when exam
period comes around, we will be able to maximize our materials and supplies for the tutorials that we will be providing.
PERSONAL INDENTITY
A problem I have faced this year is my decision to stay in my course. The website and the curriculum are helpful,
but are not enough. I know that Im not the only one facing this situation as in my block itself, there are already more than
a few people who have considered shifting out during the first or second semester of freshman year. SOSE is
interdisciplinary, which is in itself good and challenging. Knowing that, there will be many choices for them to shift to in
case their chosen discipline isnt for them. I want to be able to provide a way for them to discover what they really want in
SOSE more than just a brochure of requirements, through a course primer that effectively shows the input of the
students 1) who have shifted in that course, and 2) who have been in that course ever since, and their options for career
choices when they graduate. It will also adapt the information like the shifting and retention requirements from the manual
of this years SOSE week. This will be helpful not only for my batch, but also for succeeding batches in the future.

As of late, there has been a disparaging lack of interest among the members of our community towards the
student government. To address this, my plans, if I were to be given the chance to serve as the 2 SOSE Central Board
representative, will revolve around socio-academic integration. With my previous experience as a block representative, I
shall represent my batch during CB meetings and lobby for improvements and changes mainly focusing on administrative
and academic concerns for the betterment of the SOSE student body and the Ateneo community. For this upcoming
school year, I shall allot my attention towards addressing issues on (i) action visibility, (ii) representation and student
involvement, and (iii) administrative and academic concerns.
ACTION VISIBILITY. Constituents of mine have pointed out that the student government seems to only have a
minimal role towards the Atenean population and that the government seems to not integrate themselves enough into the
community in general. Hence, they are unaware of the change and advancements the student government is affecting
internally, such as in administrative and academic affairs. There is a need to maximize the transparency and awareness
of the Sanggunian towards the members of our community so that they may realize the extent of the help the government
provides for them. As a CB representative, I can maximize action visibility through more viable and responsive
representation by integrating the constituents into the policy-making and decision-making fronts in the system.
Furthermore, I shall provide frequent updates to my constituents on the discourses on their concerns during CB meetings
and legislations through social media and through their block representatives.
REPRESENTATION AND STUDENT INVOLVEMENT. Whenever issues are aggregated in preparation for
Central Board meetings, CB representatives hear the concerns that their block representatives voice out to them. While
compiling these concerns is relatively straightforward, only a handful of them can actually be presented and lobbied for by
the Central Board. This leaves the constituents unaware of what their CB representatives are actually lobbying for during
the CB meetings. To address this, I shall report to their block representatives on what I will be arguing for during CB
meetings. The block reps can then relay this information to their constituents and ask them for their opinions on this
matter. Furthermore, I can call for signed petitions for more important concerns to address them more swiftly and
efficiently. This dialogue between the CB representative and the constituents in turn has two effects: extending action
visibility and allowing the students to engage in the conversation.
As the CB representative, I shall represent 2 SOSE during CB meetings and express the concerns of my
constituents, whether administrative, academic or otherwise, and forward them to respective bodies or units so that they
can be addressed and resolved as soon as possible. I shall ensure that their voices will be heard and their concerns will
be discoursed upon by the decision-making body of the student government.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND ACADEMIC CONCERNS. The majority of the central board efforts revolve around
internal affairs, issues that concern administrative and academic aspects of the Ateneo community. In accordance to this,
I plan to propose amendments to the curricula of courses in SOSE, particularly those where constituents have expressed
dissatisfaction and concern. Moreover, I plan to raise revisions to the policy-making protocols employed by the schools
administrations, so that students can have more influence on the policies for their courses curricula. Furthermore, I plan
to address concerns of my constituents with the offices and departments of the Ateneo to ensure that proper lines of
communication are maintained throughout the community.
I believe that we can truly change the Ateneo for the better when we become one united community. We can only
address the issues and concerns preventing us from becoming a true community of proactive students by letting them in
the conversation and integrating them in socio-academic discourse. And as a CB representative, I shall do whatever it
takes to fully realize this goal.

There is no denying that the Ateneo life is deeply rooted in org-culture with every Atenean being in at least one
organization whether the organization is accredited or unaccredited. This culture is especially prevalent in the SOSE with
all courses having a home organization. These home organizations provide the needs of the students that it has left the
SOSE Sanggunian struggling to find a niche to cater to its constituents.
I believe that the SOSE Sanggunian should not compete with the home orgnizations in providing servies, but work with
them to minimize effort in execution and maximize impact to its constituents. I also believe that the Sanggunian should
push students to be men-and-women for others. Finally, since I will be representing a graduating batch, I believe that we
should be given more career opportunities. My platform mainly focuses on those points. How do I plan to do this?
Improve Relations with SOSE Home Organizations
I have noticed a lack of communication between the Sanggunian and home organizations. The lack of communication
results to projects and efforts with overlapping goals. I plan to have regular courtesy calls with the organizations to: (i)
repair the communication lines and (ii) show active involvement of the Sanggunian. Through the courtesy calls, the
organizations can bring up their problems with the administration or the academic problems that their members are facing.
In addition, it gives space for the organizations to relay their advocacies to the Sangguanian and allow the advocacies to
be brought up in central board meetings.
I also plan to conduct a Pre-Planning Seminar wherein the SOSE Sanggunian, representatives of home organizations,
and the STC and HEC Heads can discuss their ideas for the incoming school year. Plans developed during this meeting
can be incorporated to the organizations calendar of activities. Incorporation to an organizations calendar of activities
ensures the support from the organizations.
Presence of Course Representatives in Organization-Department Courtesy Calls
I have noticed that the presidents of organizations would have yearly courtesy calls with their respective home
departments. However, the SOSE Sanggunian does not do this and that has resulted to the various departments
depending more on the home organization, halting the communication line between the departments and the Sanggunian.
To alleviate this, I plan to have the course representatives be present during the courtesy calls of home organizations
with the department. This allows the Sanggunian to have a presence during these courtesy calls and to level off the
issues and concerns that the departments and organizations have with each other.
Inclusion of National Relevance to Sanggunian Subsidy System for Thesis
I believe that research should not be just for the pursuit of knowledge but should be done to benefit others. I plan to
push for the addition of National Relevance as a factor for the subsidy system for thesis. In adding that factor to the
subsidy system, I can encourage students to create thesis topics that help the country or to look at their thesis topics from
a perspective for the nation.
Coordination on Career Opportunities
Senior year means graduation for most of us. However, the Ateneo Career Fair has limited options for SOSE majors,
especially those under the natural sciences. I plan to bring up the issue with the Placement Office and to discuss the root
cause of that problem. Upon figuring out the root cause of the problem, I will maintain dialogue with the Placement Office
to discuss how to solve the problem. In addition, I plan to talk with home organization representatives and department
representatives about where their alumni head after Ateneo to give the Placement Office more options to add to the
Career Fair line-up.

Thrusts:
1. Community-Minded Growth
I believe that Ateneans should not only grow in a well-rounded and balanced manner between academics and extracurricular activities, but also in a community-minded manner. Meaning, everything that we do here in Ateneo will be for a
greater purpose, which is to support not only the direct recipients of the projects, but also the greater community that we
are part of. To promote this, the various projects that would be implemented would all be planned with this mind set in
place.
2. Academic Proficiency
Because there are plenty of subjects in different fields of study for the SOM Sophomores, there might be some students
who might not be able to keep up with the volume of work. This year, their academic needs will be addressed through the
various tutorial projects and the release of reviewers.
Projects:
1. International Term Assistance Program
To tackle the SOM student bodys concern for the various international study opportunities such as the JTA, the Summer
Term Abroad, and the Business Study Tour, this project aims to inform and guide the students through the application
process. Its goal is to include infographics and seminars regarding the program with different students who have gone
through the program as speakers.
2. Minoring Bootcamp
Since the Junior Year for SOM students is when students choose their minor, the goal of this project is to give Sophomore
students knowledge regarding minors they can choose as a SOM student. This boot camp will have mock classes from
the different minors available to them. This will give the Sophomores a more realistic experience to the different minors
before they even have to choose their direction.
Internal Initiatives:
1. Open Project Initiative
In order to raise awareness and involvement for 2 SOM Sanggunian concerns, projects that will be initiated by the 2 SOM
School Board will be openly advertised to all Sophomore SOM students. They will also have the option to apply to all of
these projects. Their participation shall enable the Sanggunian to tap into a larger talent base, and increase concern and
awareness for the Sanggunian projects.
2. United and Responsive 2 SOM School Board
With a more united school board, we will be able to reduce internal conflict. With less internal conflict, more problems can
be addressed to and more projects can be implemented. This way, the 2 SOM School Board will be able to be more
efficient in terms of its presence towards its constituents. This will be done through individual and group consultations and
various meetings throughout the school year.

I am currently on the last leg of my term as 1 SOM Central Board Rep. I can say that I have done things that would help
my constituency. However, there is always room to do more. If I am elected in this years General Elections, I have
envisioned some things that I believe will be beneficial for my batch:
SCREENING SYSTEM FOR PROJECT VOLUNTEERS - To promote a healthier relationship between my constituency
and the Sanggunian, I will work to open up positions for my slates projects to non-Sanggunian students. Aside from
strengthening ties, this could also help eliminate the negative connotations about the Sanggunian amongst the
constituency.
Positions for projects are usually decided via a sign-up basis. Thus, volunteers are usually just accepted outright, given
orientations and then simply exposed to their applied jobs. With this comes a tendency wherein the student chosen may
not be the right person for the job. In response to this, I will work on the creation of a screening system that will increase
the chances that, if not guarantee, that the right people will be given the job. For some positions, credentials will be
required, and a simple interview will be conducted to reassure the applicants dedication to give his/her best efforts to the
job. For other positions such as promotions, a sample will be asked. A system such as this will ensure that the projects
become more efficient and applicants are truly the right ones for the job.
ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES - A students life in the Ateneo does not depend solely on his or her academics and org
life. It is also important to look at the physical aspects of things. After all, the campus is vital to a students growth and
development throughout the duration of his or her stay here in the Heights.
There have been far too many complaints about the various buildings present around the campus that are being used by
the students. With this, I plan to push for a thorough review of the LS facilities. Aside from the fact that this would allow
efficient tackling of the complaints forwarded by the constituency, it can also potentially expose and help solve problems
not addressed in the students complaints. To do so, I also plan to join the Committee on Administrative Services.
Medical Services: This year, there have been multiple situations wherein medical response for injured students in the
Covered Courts has been unrushed and inefficient. I am aware that Ateneos medical team is tasked with roving around
the Ateneo. However, this should not be a reason for the decreased supervision of students. I plan to push for a medical
facility within the vicinity of the covered courts for constant and efficient medical help. In the event that this is not feasible,
also plan to work with Ateneos Risk Management Unit and/or LS Office of Health Services for the constant placement of
a medical team in the Covered Courts without sacrificing presence in other areas.

STUDENT RIGHTS: As a CB Rep, it is my job to represent. However, this should not be done passively; a CB rep must
be ready to fight for the betterment of his/her constituency. I have recently noticed that majority of the students are not
aware of their rights. In the event of a breach, they will not know what to do, and thats where I come in. Upon election, I
will:
Improved Complaint System - I have heard many complaints from my batchmates about professor concerns, academic
problems and problems with their life in the Ateneo in general. As a CB Rep, it is my job to represent my constituency.
Therefore, it is my job to address any and all relevant concerns. However, I have recently observed that the students who
have complaints do not know exactly how to forward them. If elected, I will work on the creation of a complaint system
(similar to Sanggus current grievance desk, but with a more narrowed-down target audience) that will provide an easy
way for students to send in complaints to myself. This would allow me to gather complaints. This will also allow me to
forward/address them to the relevant Sanggunian committees in a more efficient manner. To this extent, I will also plan to
join the Student Rights commitee for maximum efficiency.
Extended Reach: One possible flaw of the complaint system is the exposure it would have. To combat this, I will train my
block representatives to be able to defend student rights. The block reps would serve as my extended arm for maximum
exposure. They would also be able to reach where I would not be able to. As they are also usually close with their
blockmates, they would also provide an informal albeit more efficient way of doing so.

EJ OFILADA
Right now, I see a lot of role confusion within the Sanggu system: some of its functions are redundant, while others dont
receive enough attention, if any at all. This is why I want to help design a better system for Sanggu, one that wont waste
the efforts of those who choose to believe the institution: the officers, the volunteers, and most especially the students
who choose to vote. I also want to uphold the rights of those who help keep Sanggu running: namely block reps, course
reps, and project volunteers.
CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW FOCUSING ON RESTRUCTURING
Throughout this year, there has been much talk of redesigning the structure of Sanggu. However, when coming up
with a new structure, it is important to be aware not only of the flaws in the current one, but what the current one was
meant to accomplish in the first place. This way, a new system can be created without losing any of the functions of the
old one; if anything does get lost, it will be through a conscious decision to give it up.
Because I believe it will be the proper avenue towards designing an improved system for Sanggu, I intend to push for a
review of Sanggus structure based on the 2005 Constitution. This review will consist of two processes: pinpointing all of
Sanggus functions and responsibilities according to what it says, and consulting with stakeholders regarding possible
revisions and amendments. The inputs from both processes will then be combined in order to come up with a better
system.
If the review of Sanggus structure proves successful, I intend to expand the scope of the constitutional review to cover
the entire 2005 Constitution. The constitutional amendments which were submitted for plebiscite during last years
General Elections will also be reevaluated.
INSTITUTIONALIZING A VOLUNTEER-BASED SYSTEM
The 2005 Sanggu Constitution lists four specific roles of block and course reps: representation, consultation,
communication, and mobilization. In short, reps are the direct link between Sanggu and their constituents. As such, they
need to be able to keep in touch with their blockmates or coursemates, not just by being able to pass on information to
them, but also by being aware of how they are doing. This, in turn, entails being able to spend time with them.
The bill I intend to file will make participation in Sanggu projects, such as school nights, school weeks, and SOM
Games, purely voluntary. This means that no one can be forced to sign up for any of these projects against his or her will.
Also, while Block and Course Reps can still choose to volunteer for these projects, it will be up to them; it wont be taken
against them if they dont.
This bill will directly allow reps to exercise their mobilization role by encouraging others to be a part of Sanggus
projects. At the same time, it will give them more time to be with their constituents and fulfill their other three roles. It also
aims to give other students the chance to participate in Sanggu projects they want to join. Lastly, it provides Sanggu with
a way to determine just how relevant people think its projects are how many people are willing to sign up for them.
RIGHTS OF VOLUNTEERS
Articles 4-16 of the 2005 Constitution are all about the structure of Sanggu: the units that make up Sanggu are listed
down, and the responsibilities of each unit and officer are all discussed in detail. However, as it stands, the Constitution
misses out on one very important group of people, without whom Sanggu could never hope to accomplish the projects it
sets out to do.
Projects depend on volunteers to succeed; volunteers are responsible for keeping Sanggus projects running.
Recognizing this, most of the fellow candidates Ive talked to plan to provide more opportunities for students to volunteer
for Sanggu projects next school year. However, Articles 4-16 make no mention of volunteers at all. I plan to change that
by proposing a constitutional amendment that will focus specifically on volunteers for Sanggu projects.
As others plan to give students more chances to volunteer for Sanggu projects, I plan to make sure that these new
volunteers are taken care of. The amendment I will propose will enumerate the rights of volunteers, setting the minimum
standard of care with which they should be treated. These rights include notification regarding ones status as a volunteer,
being informed of ones job description in advance, and due process for applicants for a project head or core team
position.

PLATFORM
In constructing my platform, I kept in mind the values of an Atenean -- being a man for others, through cura personalis
which we, student leaders and representatives, must possess. I focused on the internal and external developments of my
batch, but also keeping in mind the benefits that the succeeding batches can get from my platform.
INTERNAL DEVELOPMENT
Training and Development of Course Representatives
Training and Development are needed for our representatives. Our representatives can highly benefit from
Training and Development opportunities. Through these, they can be capable of fully embracing their roles in the
student body. Also, these can help them realize their potential they can pick up skills that could help them
capitalize on their strengths, and improve on their weaknesses.
th
We, the 4 year batch representatives of SOM, will seek the help and mentorship of the DIA (Department of
Internal Affairs) and ask them to instigate batch-based trainings that are focused on the needs and development
of each batch,
To oversee the progress of projects/tasks of the course representatives, plenary sessions will be held every
month. If the need arises, two sessions will be held.
Project Turnover System
To ensure the continuity of projects in Sanggunian, we will create a transitional semester/year meeting, months
before our term ends.
We will conduct plenaries with the incoming officers, and we are going to discuss to them the current projects and
concerns of our batch. We will also hand over project proposals that they may use for their term.
This will ensure the continuity and quality of projects, in order for the projects to be approved and implemented at
an earlier time.
EXTERNAL DEVELOPMENT
Information Dissemination
We will collect the contact information of our constituents and compile them for all our representatives. They will
receive texts and emails whenever there are opportunities or events from Sanggunian.
There will be a calendar of activities for our batch, so that they will be notified of any important academic-related
information, and also events or meetings in which they are invited to attend. We will coordinate closely with
different officers involved for the convenience of our constituents.
Exposure for Batchmates
We will create different flagship projects that will help all graduating students to envision their future and to realize many
opportunities for their future.
There will be Networking Nights, Career Talks, Resume Writing 101, Discernment talks, and the like to help them
choose their path and to be able to get a grasp of the real business world outside Ateneo, with the help of
LSOPCS.
We will create partnerships with UP and DLSU and have an exchange student program, in which we will send our
representatives and constituents to different schools, to get a feel of their universities and how their student
councils work.
We will also continue the project of this years graduating students, financing the SoMBA Bazaar, and we will
improve it into a bigger and better project, by preparing early and looking for a number of possible sponsors.
Involvement of Constituents in Sanggunian
The students can get a chance to partake in the different projects of Sanggunian, where we can invite them to
apply to be part of the core team, or even head a committee under certain projects.
At the start of the year, we will create a focused group discussion, in which every course representative will invite
3-5 students from their courses to attend the event and share their ideas and opinions with regards to the projects
of our batch and Sanggunian.
This will create opportunities for new ideas and to establish camaraderie with our constituents.
