Young children are prone to many

diseases. In the developing countries,
where health services for the general public
are poor and overall knowledge about
health care is low, parents and teachers
are unable to detect health problem of
children which impede their learning as
well.
School-based health centers (SBHCs) are
primary care clinics based on primary and
secondary school campuses to provide a
combination of primary care, mental health
care, dental health, nutrition education,
health education and promotion, prevention
and early intervention.
In Pakistan SBHCs are almost nonexistent
on government level and very few NGOs
are working for the health education of
children in school environment. Schools
are keynote players for promotion of health
and safety of young people and helping
them establish lifelong healthy behaviours.
