Data Gathering Techniques

These are the quintessence that the researchers used in gathering


data, and information needed in developing the proposed system. It may
help to make the system possible because of the instruments and techniques
used.
Internet. The researchers used internet for surfing such data or
information for the additional information and knowledge regarding on the
proposed system. To improve some of the features of the proposed system
and to evaluate the importance of it. The researchers know that Internet
gives a lot of information.
Interview. The researchers conducted an interview to the school to
gather some important data and information needed for the development of
the system.
Books. The researchers also relied on the thesis books available at the
library to gather information that help them to improved their system.
Questionnaire. The researchers floated questions and conducted
survey to distinct the existing system used by the school and with the
proposed system.

System Design and Requirements


Gantt chart. This tool is used by the researchers to follow the
scheduled assignment to have a guide and to help them keep in track on
what are things must do in everyday.

Statistical Treatment of Data

The data gathered were statistically treated with the use of the
following tools.
Data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentage and weighted
mean using scales below.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

This chapter explained the data gathered from the chosen respondents
conducted by the researcher wherein it prepared, tabulated, computed and
analyzed. The purpose of this survey is to find out if the proposed system is
effective to the users.

The table 1 shows the results of the conducted survey from the 92
respondents. On the question number 1, it gained a weighted mean of 4.17

and has a descriptive interpretation of Agree. Question number 2 gained


3.75 and has a descriptive interpretation of Agree and for the last question,
it gained 3.95 which the descriptive interpretation of Agree.
In general, the weighted mean of proposed system in terms of
performance gained 3.95 with the descriptive interpretation of Agree, this
implies that it is efficient and amenable to use the Attendance Monitoring
System with SMS of San Jose National High School.

4.67 which have the descriptive interpretation of Agree.
In general, the weighted mean of proposed system in terms of
performance gained 4.55 with the descriptive interpretation of Strongly
Agree, this implies that it is more efficient and agreeable to use the Student
Attendance Monitoring System with SMS.

The table 4 shows the results of the conducted survey from the 3 class
advisers. On the question number 1, it gained a total of 5, question number 2
gained 6 and for the last question, it gained 7.
In general, the problem encountered by the class advisers of San Jose
National High School is the outdated recording of student attendance which
is the first one the rank. It shows that the Student Attendance Monitoring
System with SMS can give the class advisers the way and idea to overcome
the problem.
