Traditional worship in the Sanctuary at 8:30 and 11am, and
Genesis worship in Lee Fellowship Hall at 9:45 and 11am. If

our Legacy Room adjacent to the Sanctuary, or you can visit

THIS WEEK
This years Lenten Devotion book, A Pilgrims Journey
written by Dr. Dan Sharp, is inspired by Jon Bunyans classic
A Pilgrims Progress and covers the 40 days between Ash
Wednesday and Easter. Pick up your printed copy for $5
under the Angel Wing (between the Sanctuary and Allen
Hall) or Grand Hall on Sunday, or an ebook for $4 at
fpco.org/lent.
Lent begins this week, a season of repentance, fasting and
prayer. Be with us this week for Ash Wednesday worship at
6:30pm in the Sanctuary for the imposition of ashes and a
time of reflection.
The Womens Cancer Support Group meets this
Wednesday, February 18 in room 340 of the Edington
Ministry Center from 12-1pm. If you are preparing for, or
currently undergoing treatment for cancer, we encourage
you to join us for a light lunch, in a comforting place to get
information from women who have been through various
types of cancer. For details, contact Linda McCallister at
x1159 or email lmccallister@fpco.org.

Genesis 3:1-10

The God Who Delivers

Assisting in Worship: Bret Allen and Wil Brown.

NOTES

TRADITIONAL WORSHIP

If we were to go to a church for three months and base

our theology simply on the content of what was said, sung,
read, prayed, and observed, what would we know about
the gospel, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Scriptures?
What would we discover about our relationship to God?
That question challenges me each week. Times of worship
shape a persons theology. Some have said what we sing
does more to shape our beliefs than almost anything else.
We are very aware of this fact as we plan worship in our
choice of hymns and texts used in the worship services.
There are at least twenty-eight theological truths on which
we base our faith in todays opening hymn alone! Every
point of the Nicene Creed is contained in the opening
hymn. One of the ways we learn faith is in song. The
Scriptures are filled with songs, songs that tell us, remind
us, and nurture us in the faith of the living God. If you dont
normally sing in worship, join us this morning in singing
your faith. It deepens your soul and your grasp of our
magnificent God. Plan to join us for Ash Wednesday this
coming Wednesday at 6:30pm. It is an interactive, familyfriendly service of about an hour in length. - Dr. Dan Sharp

RECYCLE YOUR BULLETIN

8:30am & 9:45am worshipers can help the church be better
stewards of our resources and environment by placing
this worship bulletin in one of our recycling stations as you
leave today.
There are two right outside the Sanctuary: one in the Grand
Hallway leading to the Edington Ministry Center, and one
across from the entrance to the Prayer Room. If youre in
Lee Fellowship Hall, look for one to the right of the exit as
you leave.
The bulletins are reused for the 11:00am worship
services, and recycled on Monday morning.
