The FW Observer Edition
New York, NY - The Fashion Week Observer (The FW Observer) for iPad curates the highlights of
your Fashion Week - straight from the most influential of the fashion industry. The application is
powered by Instagram, and is launching at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW)/ NYFW today.
Instagram has been an anchor at Fashion Weeks around the world since its creation. The
convenience of the apps speedy capture and posting capabilities has proven valuable to the
professional journalist, blogger, or fashionista experiencing, then quickly sharing all this week has to
offer. The FW Observer works to streamline this process, presenting Fashion Week content in a
clean UI, quickly through a popularity algorithm, and robust sharing capabilities.
The FW Observer was birthed after stumbling upon the Huffington Post article 60 Instagram
Accounts To Follow During Fashion Week Spring 2015. Co-founder Kristof Van Brussel also saw a
need for automation and curation, and real-time influence in one of his areas of personal interest:
Fashion. The creator of Qrtd, a publication and curation service that allows Instagram-based
branded lookbooks, Kristof has partnered with Digital Strategist and Creator, Lindsey C. Holmes to
brand, produce and serve Fashion Week with a curators dream.
The FW Observer is currently available for iPad with an app for the iPhone launching in the Spring.
