Report on February 6, 2015,
had 534 head.
Had 76 cows and 8 bulls.
The packer market continued at the level of last week
on a short supply.
However the replacement market continues to
be strong as some good bred
black cows brought up to
$220/cwt.
The calf market on a
short run was very active maintaining the levels
reached last week and better in all classes under 600
pounds as there was definitely more interest. Heavy
weights held steady.

Eagle Ford rig count down by 21

Rigs continue to decrease as crude inches upward
The Eagle Ford Shale rig
count decreased by 21 to
211 rigs running across our
coverage area by the end of
last week.
In
recent
Eagle
Ford news, the U.S.
Energy
Information
Administration
(EIA)
has released new maps
that
include
updated
information for Eagle Ford
derived from producing
wells from January 2000June 2014. These maps
are categorized based on
Gas-to-oil ratio, elevation
contours, footprint and
thickness contours.
The U.S. rig count fell
by 90 to 1543 rigs running
by the end of last week.
A total of 316 rigs were

targeting natural gas (up

and 1,317 were targeting
oil in the U.S. (ten less than
the previous week). The
remainder were drilling
service wells (e.g. disposal
wells, injection wells, etc.).
753 of the rigs active in the
U.S. were running in Texas.
Baker Hughes reports
its own Eagle Ford Rig
Count that covers the
14 core counties. The
rig count published on
EagleFordShale.com
includes a 30 county area
impacted by Eagle Ford
development. A full list of
the counties included can
be found in the table near
the bottom of this article.
The natural gas rigs

increased by four to 18
rigs running by the end
of last week. Natural gas
prices decreased by $.20
from the previous week at
$2.69/mmbtu on Friday
afternoon.
The oil rig count
decreased by 21 to 211
rigs running by the end of
last week. WTI oil prices
increased by $3.10 from
the previous week, trading
at $48.24/bbl on Friday
afternoon. A total of 200
rigs are drilling horizontal
wells, three rigs are drilling
directional wells, and eight
rigs are drilling vertical
wells. Karnes (33), Dimmit
(28), and DeWitt (25) have
the highest rig counts this
week.

team in hog-hunting contest

Miller and Wade Miller have
hunted more than just opposing-teams quarterbacks
and running backs during
football games.
They like to go out and
catch some big hogs every
now and then.
The brothers,, along with
some fellow hunters from
Central and South Texas,
scored big in the Marranos
Muerto Los Cazaroes Hog
Challenge Jan 30-Feb. 1 in
the Pearsall area.
The Millers, Chance
Nollkamper, Cody Myrick,
David Sheppard and Randy
Cate came in first place in
the contest with a grand total of 957 pounds for four
field-dressed hogs.
The group also won the
Side Pot of the Biggest Boar,
which was around 305.
Nollkamper hails from

Poth, Myrick is from Stockdale while Sheppard and

Cate are from Belton in the
Waco area.
I had never won this particular contest before, JT
Miller said. This was a big
contest and a good one to
win.
Contestants and teams
hunted game with dogs,
starting Friday evening and
going until Sunday afternoon at 2,when the weighin occurred.
JT Miller and his team
sought their prey out on
Pete Wilsons River Ranch.
There was nothing easy
about the contest.
There was lots of competition, JT Miller said. Not
a lot of sleeping and lots of
fun.
He said he is planning on
participating in the contest
next year.
