Course description: This course presents an overview of the tourism planning process, contemporary models of tourism planning and development, various levels of
tourism planning and the roles and responsibilities of stake holders such as government, industry, NGOs and local communities. The subject
explorers the effect of legislation and government policies on tourism development at the national and local levels.

Objectives of the course:
At the end of the course, the students are expected to:
Cognitive:
1. Explain the significance of Tourism and its impacts in our Economy, Society, Culture and Environment.
2. Discuss the Tourism Marketing mix including Promotion and Distribution of Tourist product.
Psychomotor:
1. Apply the skills in doing Tourism Promotion with creativity and cooperation to others.
2. Tabulate the stages of Destinations Life Cycle with patience.
3. Show how Philippine Festival is being done using creativity and resourcefulness.
Affective:
1. Evaluate the 7 Wonders of nature with Appreciation.

CLASS POLICIES/REQUIREMENTS
The students responsibility is to come to class
prepared. They should participate actively in al
class discussions and group activities.
All students are required to come class regularly
and should come on time.
Students shall be advised to drop the course
after an accumulated total of 9 hours of excused
or unexcused absences.
Students who consistently disturb the classroom
environment will be asked to leave the session.
Using of cell phones during the class discussion
is prohibited.
Course requirements should be submitted on
time, requirements submitted late shall be
accepted at the discretion of the instructor and
if accepted will be given demerits.
Cheating is an un acceptable academic
behavior. Students caught cheating during
examination will get a score of zero for that
particular examination
All tests are to be taken on scheduled dates.
Special test/examinations shall be given only for
highly justifiable reasons.
