Collaborative team work

Introduction
More the number on problem more creative solution can be obtained
for it. So collaborative team work provides good solution then those
provided by individuals. However it is quite problematic in case of
online community, but it is not impossible. There are many ways
through which the collaboration and team work can be improved.

Steps required change

Personal Profile
The current public profile contains most of the fields required to show.
The change required here is making few fields mandatory to fill in
order to get idea about the team member. The few fields refer to Bio,
Achievements of him, and his interests which can be seen before the
making team with that person.
Challenge detail page
Currently there is a button for the Team which redirects to FAQ page.
The change required here is, once the user presses the button of team,
redirect him/her to list of users wish to be part of team or need
member for team. If the user is first to press it then the fields he
required to fill up are:
1. Qualities he/she seek in the team member.
2. Number of members needed in team.
3. The location restriction i.e. members of particular countries can
only join the team. (Ex. Only Indian person can join my team.)
4. Why he want be part of team or want to create a team
5. The preferred mode of communication or meeting for discussion
6. The share of prize money he/she is offering
7. Other fields as per need
The pre-filled fields can be:
1. The public profile of the user.
2. His contact details.

Now the mode of communication here can be through Skype (However,

group calling facility requires pro account.), the social sites, A message
box or forum for each team on innocentive itself, or their own preferred
method. However it is highly recommended to provide chat-box or
message forum for each team till they submit final solution. This way
their progress can be recorded and can be maintained and payment
can be made accordingly. The best place to add chat box will be project
room. By combining project room of team each member can provide
their part of work. To fasten the work collaboration with existing sites
can be done else these things dont require much time. The best way
can be use of Google hangout for it as it is best way for online group
meet.
This will solve both the problems of Enabling Solver-solver visibility
and Enable collaborative working.
Incentivizing Solver
The referral methods are out dated now and dont work much now.
Everybody wants to be first and only few people take trouble to get
referred. The best way according to me is collaborating with
institutions is best way of getting Solvers. As most of the problems
posted here are from the industries the institutions across the world
providing graduation and post-graduation course can be targeted. One
person in each institute can be selected which will represent
Innocentive to his/her institute and will provide the progress to the
Industries.
The additional thing which can be done is forwarding resume of the
solvers to the industries and help them getting jobs. The one which are
selected can be used for the promotion of the Innocentive. This way
more and more people will engaged in the problem solving and more
will be attracted to do this work.
In case of referral method, one can provide virtual credit and allot few
additional things from website. The additional things here refer to
providing Pro badge, Gifts, Certificates etc.
