IV- Amethyst

Plastics have been used since the twentieth century. They are made from formaldehyde
and phenol. These materials are significantly important in our life. They are used to make food
containers, credit cards for financial transactions, storage baggage, electronic and electrical
products specifically appliances. Improper disposal of these plastic materials may be hazardous
to the environment resulting to its utmost destruction. Plastics may also block sewages and
canals causing floods and also the death of aquatic animals in time.
The video clip showed an experiment concerning plastics. The narrator tried to live
without plastic. All of his things that are composed of plastic were removed including his cell
phone and laptop. He even bought things that were not wrapped in plastic. It was not easy.
Materials like that can only be found in a certain place at a high price. The experiment that was
conducted was very helpful and may be used in certain areas. Through it, scientists may
formulate ideas to help our environment and change it for the better.
The next one was about bio plastics. Bio plastics or Biodegradable Plastics are mainly
composed of starch which is not hazardous and may be decomposed back into carbon dioxide.
Unlike polymer plastics, these plastics decompose after a few weeks or months depending on the
material that was used in making it.
The video clips were great for studying. From them, different facts were acquired that
may be used by students for their future researches especially about the bio plastics which was a
promising solution to plastic pollution. These may also be used by the government for the
improvement of the environment and for making the Earth a better place to live in.

A video clip about robots was shown next. Robots are mechanical or virtual artificial
agents guided by a computer. In the video clip, it showed an interview to a Japanese inventor
where he presented his invention - a humanoid or human robot which was a robot resembling a
body that of a human. His specific goal was for it to be able to make or do the things a person
could do. But to do that, he will need an even more complex or better technology.
Robotics is the branch of technology concerned with the design, construction and
application of robots. Robots were made to make the making of product easier and faster.
Though, the invention of them has its perks. The creation of robots results to the increasing case
of unemployment considering they were able to do distinct notions that a person could not.
The video clip was of great help to the addition of knowledge and better improvement of
the society. Although the scientists and inventors aim for the better, there are still certain points
that should be taken into account specifically, rate of employment. People still have years ahead
of them, years to formulate new ideas and make parts that may be added to improve the
humanoid. But, nevertheless, the development of humanoids is a great step to the advancement
of modern technology.
