Systems Engineering
Products and processes are becoming more and more complex while the job of the systems
engineering is to make them manageable and to adapt them for the changing global needs.
The master's program provides students with process, organizational and management
knowledge and skills to solve problems within complex production processes.
Two directions are available to be chosen:
The study Factory Management/Logistics deals with the logistics processes within and
between companies, project organization and planning, system design, and ecological
relationships within the design and operation of production units.
In the study of Logistics Engineering students learn how to analyze processes and concrete
drive systems applied to specific systems to coordinate operations and production processes
and to optimize them further.
Career opportunities
Systems engineering is not limited to a particular area or a specific sector, but can be
integrated anywhere. Graduates have got diverse career opportunities in the following
positions:

Project Engineer/Project Manager in machine and plant

Project Manager in the Engineering Division
Planning Engineer (Factory Planning, Process Planning, Production Planning,
Industrial Engineering) in small, medium and large companies as well as engineering
service providers.
Logistics, industrial engineering, facility management, work planning
Researcher at research institutions

The following application areas are of particular interest for master's graduates:

Factory Planning and Logistics

Production Planning and Control, Supply Chain Management
Pre-Production
Project Management
Research and Training

Target Modules/Advanced course

1-2 Semesters,
Students can choose between the disciplines Factory Management and Logistics.

Special requirements:
Holder of a bachelor degree in the Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or
Logistics will be confronted with highly complex future occupation. An important application
is in field production engineering and also designing work and work plans for the industrial
location. Designing these systems requires skills in the area of Factory Management and
planning as it goes far beyond the education received in the course of the bachelor program.
This area is covered in our master program.
