Publicity in the admission process
Prospectus-containing all the information regarding admission procedure of
the college is issued.
College website.
Banners- displayed in prominent place in and around Dombivli station, to give
details about the college admission.
Teachers personally visit nearby junior colleges, to publicize about the courses
available, infrastructure and other related facts of the college.
Pamplets- containing information of the college are distributed at the time of
HSC results in neighboring colleges.
Publicity through students and alumni.
In addition to above the university gives wide publicity through print media
and its website.

Transparency in the Admission process


Admission process is in strict adherence with the norms of university and
government.
Admission process and fees structure are as mentioned in the prospectus and
admission form.
The above information are also displayed on the notice board as well at
strategic places within the premises.

Admission committee is constituted as per university guidelines and it plays a


vital role to ensure transparency in the admission process.
Admissions are online as well as offline after the online process is completed.
The merit lists are displayed as per the university rules and regulations
Admissions are strictly merit based and under the overall supervision of
admission committee.
Admission committee also plays the role of counseling by providing relevant
information about various courses and guiding students in choosing the course
suitable to them.
Computer lab of the college is available throughout the day for the students for

course of lectures and design remedial measures accordingly.

The following measures are taken by the institution to ensure that the stakeholders of

College examinations are conducted as per University directives and circulars
received from time to time regarding the evaluation system to be adopted.
The directives and circulars regarding examinations are discussed in the staff
meeting by the examination committee.
Examination pattern is discussed with students in the orientation programme by
exam committee convenor.
The faculty members discuss the evaluation pattern with the parents in the
parents teachers meet.
The faculty members are deputed to attend workshops related to change in the
evaluation pattern and marking system organised by University of Mumbai.

has adopted and what are the reforms initiated by the institution on its own?
The college is affiliated to University of Mumbai, so the evaluation norms laid
down by the University are followed.
University has introduced the Credit-based Grading System for undergraduate
courses from 2011-12
Under this Credit-based Grading System student was evaluated as 40 marks for
internals and 60 marks for externals and student was evaluated on a 7 point

grading system based on percentage of marks obtained in all 6 semesters before


awarding the final grade.
From 2014-15 University has revised the evaluation system as 25 marks for
internals and 75 marks for externals.
2.5.3 How does the institution ensure effective implementation of the evaluation
reforms of the university and those initiated by the institution on its own?
In the staff meeting the staff members are informed about the changes in
evaluation pattern.
Faculty members in the orientation programme explain the evaluation reforms
introduced by the University and its implementation.

by examination committee.
The results of the examinations are fully computerized.

Under the new Credit based Grading and Semester System assessment of the learners
has been done under 2 approaches: a) Formative b) Summative

Under Summative evaluation, 75 marks are allotted to Term end Semester
Examinations (Theory):

The Credit Based Grading System has had a positive impact on students

The college has an active placement cell under which faculties counsel the
students and offer campus recruitments.
The college wants the students to become good citizens and work with a spirit
of co-operation and team work. Leadership qualities are developed among the
students through several competitions.
The Alumni Association extends its co-operation in various activities.

The college has a Grievance Redressal Cell for redressing the grievances of the
students in connection with the evaluation at the college level.

Students can apply for verification of marks, photocopy of their answer books
and revaluation of their answer books.

If the students have any grievance related to any University Examinations, at the
University level, there are provisions for obtaining photocopy of the answer book,

Learning outcomes are clearly stated by the college
The college vision and mission indicates the learning outcomes, principal stress
on the achievement of which in each staff meeting.
Each Department has framed its own learning objectives and which are
achieved through various academic and extra-curricular activities.
Students are made aware of the learning outcomes in the beginning in the
orientation programme.
The learning outcomes are discussed with the parents in Parents Teachers
meeting.

and performance of students through the duration of the course/programme?
Provide an analysis of the students results/achievements (Programme/course wise

2.6.3 How are the teaching, learning and assessment strategies of the
institution structured to facilitate the achievement of the intended learning
outcomes?

Academic calendar is prepared and given to all faculty members.


Copy of individual Time Table is given to the faculties.
Teaching plan is prepared.
Departmental meetings are conducted to review the teaching plan.
Apart from traditional teaching methods ICT is being used for teaching.
Other methods of teaching and learning like group discussion, question answer,
home assignment, class test etc. have also been implemented.
Learning is made student centric through periodical class test, assignments,
participation in discussion in lecture tutorial classes, Business quizzes, Guest
Lectures, viva, project presentation etc.
Assessment is done based on the model answers and marking scheme.
Feedback of the moderators for improvement is discussed with staff and
implemented.

2.6.4 What are the measures/initiatives taken up by the institution to enhance


the social and economic relevance (student placements, entrepreneurship,

innovation and research aptitude developed among students etc.) of the courses
offered?
College has an active placement cum Carrier Counseling Cell.
Industry oriented lectures to develop entrepreneurial skills among the
students.
Industrial visits inside and outside Maharashtra to give industry exposure
and practical knowledge to the students.
Industry based Projects, home assignments etc. enable the students to
carry on independent work and enable them to get innovative ideas and
develop research aptitude.
Students are motivated to participate and present papers in the seminars
and workshops.
2.6.5 How does the institution collect and analyze data on
student performance and learning outcomes and use it for
planning and overcoming barriers of learning?
Data regarding the performance of students is provided by the
examination committee to the result improvement committee.
Results are analyzed by the Result Improvement Committee and steps are
taken to improve the performance of the students.
Intensive coaching and Remedial coaching is provided to students in
order to improve the performances.

achievement of learning outcomes?
