Focus on the main Idea:
Islam is not only a religion but a way of life. Muslims share a special bond that
extends over family ties. Abu Bakr (R.A) displayed a great example of brotherhood
in Islam. One of the first things the Prophet (S.A.W) did in Madina after Al-Hijrah
was Al- Muaakhah. This is when Prophet (S.A.W) established a brotherhood between
Al-Muhajireen and Al-Ansar. This serves as an example of how important
brotherhood in Islam is.
Think critically:
Q-1: Why Brotherhood is a part of being a good Muslim?
Ans: A good Muslim always follows the teaching of the Prophet (S.A.W) and our
Prophet (S.A.W) ordered us to love, care and respects all Muslims and treats
with them like real brothers.
Study Questions:
Q-2: What does Muaakhah mean? Explain the Muaakhah that Prophet (S.A.W)
established?
Ans: Muaakhah is an Arabic word and it means brotherhood and sisterhood and
Muaakhah in Islam is that Rasollullah (S.A.W) established brotherhood between
Al-Muhajireen and Al-Ansar, soon after Al-Hijra.

Q-3: Research a story about how the Sahabah loved their brothers and sisters in
Islam. Write a paragraph about it.
.
Ans: There are so many examples of Sahabahs love and sacrifice for their
brothers and sisters in Islam. Once in a battle a Muslim soldier was seriously
injured and crying for water. A Muslim came with water to him but before
drinking he heard a voice of another injured soldier who was also crying for
water .The former refused to drink and said to the man to give the water to
the later. In this way the later soldier gave the water before drinking to
another but the last soldier was martyred without taking the water. When the
man with water returns back to the other soldier every one martyred without
drinking water. It is a glorious example of Sahabahs love and sacrifice for
their Muslim brothers.

Muhajireen into their homes and shared their home, food and wealth
with them.

Q-2: Now write what you have learned about brotherhood in Islam, and how you
can use it in your life to become a better Muslim.

Lesson we learned from brotherhood that all Muslims are brothers and
sisters one another. According to Hadith:The Muslim Ummah is like one
body. If the eye is in pain then the whole body is in pain and if the head is
in pain then the whole body is in pain. We should try to become a better
Muslim if we care about people, treat them kindly and greet them.

Ibn Omar (R.A) reported that Prophet (S.A.W) said: The Muslim is a
brother to a Muslim; He doesnt hurt him nor let others hurt
him. Whoever helped his brother when in need, Allah will help
him when he becomes in need. And whoever eased a difficulty
to a Muslim, Allah will ease his difficulties in the Day of
Judgment. And whoever protects the privacy of Muslim, Allah
