2 Corinthians 4:5

Jan.-Feb. 2015

Greetings to our dear praying friends,

The Roys newsletter

We are happy to introduce our churchs

third key-family: Gabriel, Pascale and
Coralie Tessier. The Tessiers have been
saved, batized, married and discipled in
our church. This young couple is not only

The Tessier family

filled with talents to serve the Lord (both

are accomplished musicians), but most
important theyre both motivated to
know and make known the Lord, and
they serve Him with enthusiasm for His
glory! They are in charge of the youth
and of a ministry for the younger ones on
Sunday nights. They are in the choir, she
plays the cello and he plays the guitar in
all our services. Gabriel filled in for me a
few times for the midweek Bible study.
They complete our key-families trio
with the Stiglichs and the Martins. We
are profoundly thankful for every individual and family the Lord sends our
way, but we praise Him in a special way
for these three families without which we
would simply not be able to accomplish
the ministry the Lord has called us to.
For other news, Gatan is coming back
with us in a rather timid way, but we love
him and we encourage him to first cling
to the Lord who is the only One able to
give him the spiritual stability he needs.
Thank you for praying for this man that
has the potential to become a pillar for
our little congregation.
Last Sunday morning we had quit a
surprise when a visitor, Nicolas Fortin,

darkened the doors of our church. It not

him who surprised us, but his grandmother who drove him to church and
who vehemently opposed the fact that he
was coming. When the usher gave him a
Sunday bulletin she took it from him
and said: whats that! They want you to
sign something to attend here! They
want your money! And believe it or not
it got worst when she came back to get
him at the end of the service. She was
treating him like a child although hes 20
years old. In short, his family is afraid of
what they dont know and thus imagine
all kinds of things. We never saw anything like this since we started the
church. Please pray in this situation, for
Gods wisdom, for the salvation of his
family, and for Nicolas deliverance
from their grip. The little that I was able
to be with Nicolas, I saw genuine signs
of his salvation. But for now he is unattainable, but through prayer (Ps. 91:15).
To finish, we have helped the Torrilus
family for a while, but we dont see them
anymore in spite of our attempts to reach
out to them. Please pray for their marital
and spiritual conditions that are bad

Ministry Corner
The ministry is an adventure full of unexpected things. Sometimes disappointments, but also
surprises and mostly blessings (sometimes disguised in a trial). One of these surprises was the
recent return of Jeremy Harper. I had the privilege of baptizing him in 2011 (see picture), but not
long after he moved and we lost sight of him, except for scattered news we received every now
and then that he was sinking in the worlds deceptions. But praise the Lord, a few weeks ago he
contacted me to meet me. What a surprise I had to find a Jeremy, even though chastened by God,
motivated to fully come back to Him (Heb. 12:6-10). He asked for in-depth Bible studies be- Jeremys Baptism
cause hes constrained by the special call he feels God has on his life. To be continued...
Couples Dinner
Jeremy is a man in whom the world would not see much potential because he doesnt have much
formal education. But he has great potential in Gods eyes because hes available. Someone
said: the greatest ability is availability. He told me that his top priority right now is coming
back to the Lord with the help of the Bible studies and the prayer times we have together.
When I was praying and meditating upon those things, I realized that the Lord likes to do that in
our ministry. In fact, we dont have any people with great riches, education, or social standing.
And the few such people we have had through the years have either not stayed very long or they dont or very seldom get
involved. Nevertheless, we have people that, even though not very high in number, are available and enthusiastic for the
Lord. We dont have what the world values, but we have whats most important and we are truly grateful for that.
