Why I chose Hult for my Master degree

Dhirubhai Ambani, a prominent figure in the Indian fraternity, once said If you dont build your
dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs1. Here I was, during the past 11
years doing exactly that. I was hired by international MNCs to build someone elses dream.
While I did learn important business & management skills, I never had the confidence to start
my own business. Slowly but steadily I spoke to like-minded colleagues about my aspirations.
These were people with MBAs who explained to me the advantages of a MBA over a regular
masters program. A few months later, I was convinced to do a MBA which I strongly believed
would help me achieve my long term goals i.e. setting up a boutique consultancy firm in India.
My first requirement while choosing a business school was the quality of teaching and the
amount of interaction I would have with its professors. SeungSu Sonny Kim, a Hult alumni
mentioned that not only did Hult attract excellent professors, the class sizes were also small and
that made it easier to interact with the professors2. I immediately knew that this was exactly
what I was looking for. SeungSus testimonial about her experience at Hult was the starting
point I was looking for which strengthened my reasoning to join Hult.
My second reason for choosing Hult was the student diversity that the school offered. I was
keen to interact and study with students from different cultures and backgrounds. Melissas
testimonial seemed to showcase Hults strong belief in diversity. She said One of the things I
most appreciate from my MBA experience at Hult is to have been exposed to such a diverse
group of professionals. It was like being on 30 business trips in a year and five job rotations
exactly what it is to do business in todays global economy3
And lastly, my third and final reason for choosing Hult was its rankings. Like any other student,
MBA rankings played a key role for me in choosing a business school. The economist gave Hult
an overall rank of 59 and a regional rank of 34 out of 100 in their 2013 rankings4 which I felt was
relatively good for a new school. All business schools had to start somewhere and I felt
confident that as time progressed, Hult would improve upon its rankings.
In the end, I felt that Hult ticked all the right boxes for me. I believed that a MBA from Hult will
give me a unique competitive advantage in the international workplace. It would equip me with a
strong set of generalist skills across all aspects of business. It would provide me with both,
knowledge and a sense of confidence that will certainly help me over the long-term, and would
probably open many doors. Hults MBA program is therefore ideal for me to achieve my
professional goals5 and hence was my choice of school where I wanted to complete my MBA
