Specific Hazards
Precautions in
connection with Fire
Water spray, water fog, foam, carbon dioxide and dry chemical powder.
Under fire conditions the product may emit toxic fumes including carbon
monoxide and carbon dioxide as well as trace amounts of acrylic monomers,
oxides of sulphur and oxides of nitrogen.
This product is not combustible. However, under fire conditions, following the
evaporation of the aqueous component, the organic components may decompose
and/or burn.
Fire fighters should wear Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and full
protective clothing to prevent exposure to vapours, fumes and products of
combustion. Water spray may be used to cool down heat-exposed containers.
No exposure standards have been established for the mixture by the National
Occupational Health & Safety Commission (NOHSC), Australia. However,
over-exposure to some chemicals may result in adverse effects on health or
aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions and/or allergic reactions and
should be kept to the lowest possible levels.
